Sam Darnold Streak Continues

USC QB Sam Darnold did not throw an interception so it’s been seven straight practices without an interception. He started camp with five interceptions in the first three practices.

“It pissed me off as much as it would anyone,” Darnold said.

  • Well, I hated to throw interceptions in SC intramural competition, and never did. Big deal, huh!

  • Pasadena Trojan

Scooter, the sky is falling. All is doom and gloom at usc

    • Jack B

SW tried to create a story out of nothing. Now, he’s been busted as many of us expected all along.

Truth is, SW’s not even qualified to cover Darnold as a writer. Read the SI cover story on Darnold by Lee Jenkins and you’ll get my point.

      • Bruin 34

SI Curse. Darnold won’t have the same year this year. Your o line won’t be able to protect and your WR core isn’t as dynamic as last year. No South or Pac Champ. That’s for damn sure!

        • Jack B

Anyone who ups their own posts is stupid beyond words. That’s you.

And regardless of whether some ridiculous curse will actually bring down Darnold and USC as you proclaim, the Trojans will wipe the floor with you little gutties in Nov as usual. You’ve turned into USC’s easiest game and everyone knows ucla football stinks.

I can’t wait for the investigation results into The Chimp and his little gutty program to come out publicly. Tick tock. No curse needed for this bruin disaster.

          • Bruin 34

Nah. Not really. Please explain to me how you are gonna wipe the floor against Ucla with your o line WR’s. This should be good. Lol

          • Jack B

I’m not here to educate you idiot. Do your own homework, like Lindy’s, Street & Smith, USA Today, Athlon and SI. Everyone who has looked into it knows ucla is inferior as usual. i do, however, think you’ll make a bowl game without petitioning for special consideration this year.

It’s common knowledge your receivers can’t catch, you have no running game, The Chimp is on the hotseat and the last time SC faced Rosen, he specialized in throwing picks and fumbling.

As Rosen said, there’s too many little gutties who don’t belong in college, which is probably why the bruins always tank when classes start. What he left out was there’s too many little gutties who don’t belong on the field either. Hah, hah, hah. Get ready for another slaughter little gutty.

          • Bruin 34

Informed little $UC like always. So tell me? Who is the WR with elite speed that will take the pressure off Darnold? Who is your elite o lineman that is gonna protect Darnold. Y’all caught fire after Helton out in Darnold because he was desperate to save his a $$ and his job. Helton is not a good coach. You guys backed into the RB game while Colorado deserved to go and got screwed. Oh and then on defense? Who is your lock down corner and elite D lineman? Try again though. Darnold and $C caught fire when no one knew who Darnold was and no one had game film on him. Different story next year. Not to mention your kicker that won you tight games. You beat and average Penn St. team. But go ahead. Try again bub.

          • Pasadena Trojan

Ruin trenta quatro, u and ur ruins have no room to talk. Ur ruin online destroyed thevwhinny little ruin Rosen by not blocking. Ur run game got blown up by USC. Ur receivers can’t catch a pass to save their soul. Ur defense gave up 36 points to USC last year. U guys suck, which is normal for every year. Yes, SC lost two to three starting receivers from last year and three starters from the o line. However, the replacements on the online have played last year. There are three receivers that played last year and will play this year. Btw, they catch that ball, like the receiver who caught the winning pass gs the 5th ranked team in the nation from last year. Pain is coming to u and ugly in Nov. Sc will supply the pain and destroy the ruins. Just make sure the Whitney Rosen shows up so the SC defense can destroy him.

          • Bruin 34

You only put up 36 on that pathetic offense with a backup walk on? Lol

          • Sas

You were lucky that you put 14 on the board. If it wasn’t for Adoree Jackson and Marvell Tell both simultaneously stopping and thinking the other would make the play Ucla wouldn’t have had that lucky play. You know it. Also, real quick BBall talk. The ONLY reason Bagley is considering Ucla now is because USC won’t take a scholarship from a current player.
Kinda like Mora’s first three seasons. He had Mr. NCAA (sanctions) to give him that extra Ivan Drago.

            #YOU KNOW IT

          • Bruin 34

Puh lease! Y’all always use sanctions as an excuse. You guys had the players. Just garbage coaches. You honestly think Helton will take you to the Pac 12 Champ let alone a playoff??? C’mon be real. You guys have talent for sure. But don’t see Darnold having the same season as last year. He can ball for sure. But that o line is shaky and no proven WR. Ucla is in the same boat so we shall see. I’d take Fisch over Tee Martin any day and twice on Sunday. If he’s good enough for Harbaugh. He’s golden in my book!

          • Sas

You would be crazy to make that deal and you would have to resign as GM. Tee Martin is fire with recruiting. He’s young as a Playcaller in only his second year so that’s different. At offensive tackle we’ll be waiting to see if Edoga and the other starter have what it takes. I think they’ll play well, but I’m still nervous. WR? We’re more than good there. Playmakers everywhere. I’m not trying to brag but we have Tyler Vaughns and Michael Pittman entering the fold now as every day players. Then true freshmen Joseph Lewis is out playing the others in practice. Those three were all 5-Star WR’s and Darnold finds his receivers more any SC QB that I can remember. Also, Harbaugh definitely carries his weight but he has pieces in place at Michigan to play the way they do. Ucla is not the same system, or…..at least not right now they’re not. They’re OC might have a hard time executing at UCLA because Michigan had an O-line and it’s the reason they’re QB looked good when he’s really average.

          • Bruin 34

You have some good points. But as an OC isn’t your job to evaluate? If Tee was such a great OC wouldn’t he have also realized the talent in Darnold and name him a starter day 1? How did both HC and OC blatantly miss this? This is what is holding your program back. You think Pete would have waited til game three to realize this talent and wait til his job was on the line to make a move out if desperation?

          • Pudly76

Foolish little imp, you now consider yourself a mind reader…you know the thinking that went into the decision of who to start early..tell me..what was mora thinking when you came from ahead to lose to WSU?

          • Bruin 34

So you still haven’t answered my question. You believe in Helton? He’s gonna take you to the playoffs? I’ll wait……….

          • Pudly76

Easy, peazy, Helton not only has my confidence he has, more importantly, that of his players and asst. coaches. His players have faith in him and go the extra mile, showing in the fourth quarter of the Rose Bowl. Impish silly ruins will point to Darnold, saying he was the reason, but as any educated football fan knows, Sam had no chance if the defense doesn’t step up and shut them out. Not just shut them out but without their best players, Cam and Adoree. Complete buy in. mora on the other hand has them leaving early for the fourth or fifth round of the draft.

          • Grammymb

            Business as usual.

          • Sas

Tee was the one that told Helton that Darnold was the starter and that he just makes the team move the chains. He was never disrespectful to Max Brown about it, but Tee Martin was very blunt during interviews. I have to admit that I thought Max would lose to Bama but get us on track right away+beat Stanford+win the Confrence and go pro+especially after Darnold came out and said he wasn’t transferring and would support Max and the team. And i knew Darnold was better. The was a big part of that thought Max could lead since he was the Gatorade POT, etc. I was wrong. Smh….I never thought Max would be so bad. I think Helton also felt that way. Lesson learned for me. I always said best man plays, except there and the rest is history. Martin was definitely on point with his approval on Sam.

          • Jack B

Face it. Helton blew it. It’s his job to make personnel evals and everyone except him knew Darnold was much better based on practices, including most the players, especially the vets who knew more about Browne’s limitations.

Helton desperately wanted Browne to stay so he started him, which while understandable, almost sunk the entire program in the process.

That said, Swann encouraged the Darnold switch immed after the Stanford debacle and Helton looked smarter every day since. I think Helton learned some very valuable lessons last year’s horrendous start and I’m convinced he’s the man for the job now. He’s made some very strong moves. Plus, he owns The Chimp, which may not be saying much, but I’ll take it.

          • Bruin 34

You are right sir. Y’all should have blanked us as pathetic as our offense was. No excuse!

          • SCgrad12

Yeah…and Utah lit you up with a tailback they got out of the student section. Where is Mique?

          • Bruin 34

Mique had personal issues to deal with. He’ll be fine. Y’all just worry about Phillips and Darnay 😉

          • Jack B

Be serious little gutty. Nobody’s worried about you little gutties. Get a clue. You’re the little weak sisters in L.A. Your football team hasn’t even made it the Rose Bowl game in 20 years – and when you get there, you usually lose.

Typical bruin pre-season bragger. USC has won 25 Rose Bowls. The bruins have won 5. Don’t make me laugh over you crap program.

Darnold’s the #1 Heisman candidate despite all your BS. Fact. Deal with it. He’s gonna hammer you yet again in Nov.

Poor Mique. I hear he’s a bed wetter who needs to miss practice because of his shrink appointments. Ya, we’re real worried here at SC about you little gutties – the nation’s #1 underachieving football program. Every year, another lame excuse with ucla fans just happy to make a bad bowl game. Too bad your fans won’t travel. Too cheap.

          • Bruin 34

Typical? How many year now since uncle Peat left? Every you guys are “on your way to a natty” crash a burn every time you are picked to do something. This year us no different. One word for ya bruh. Helton !

          • Pudly76

No different than you guys last year? Picked to win PAC 12, playoff berth, most disappointing team in America. You talk from recent experience. You realize, your next win against that powerhouse WSU will be your first in a row…hahahaha..don’t worry about beating us, just beat it.

          • Bruin 34

Nah. Wr actually winning the South. Fisch together with Rosen. Oh my. Darnold can ball. But he ain’t having anything close to resembling the supporting cast he had last year. Mora chose to ride with KP and it failed miserably. Not happening two years in a row. But try again. That’s all you got really?

          • Pudly76

Better cast for Sam this year. Better backfield, best receiving class in the country two years ago, and arguably the best wide receiver in the country from this last class, top tight end group in the country, you ruins have spiked the kook-aid again.
As far as Fische goes, this ain’t Michigan anymore, receivers don’t catch and line won’t block for the prima dona. Ask yourself why mora always says how his team respects the qb, if they really did it would be evident. Never hear Helton say that about Sam. Ecause there’s no need.

          • Jack B

Rosen wasn’t allowed anywhere near P12 Media Day because he’s more of a distraction for the bruins than a leader.

He’s so bad in the pocket. It’s fun to watch him get upset and flail about when he’s under pressure.

The Chimp is always propping up Rosen as some boy genius with big ideas because all Rosen really has is a big mouth and a bad history against USC.

          • Pudly76

Shameful, also shameful is the stable of qbs the ruins have waiting their turn. Word is DTR would be ours in a heartbeat if we offered him. Crazy where rosen and mora have taken this team. Again, shameful comes to mind.

          • Bruin 34

And you little guy. Lmfao! DTR wants nothing to do with the ghetto. Please know your facts. $C knows they have no chance with DTR. He’s working on your boy Amon Ra though. Going hard! Yeah cause everyone wants to go to $C. Sorry. Don’t see any “Bama” type recruits rolling in. Sad part is. As a private university you can get in whomever you want. Or pay whomever you want to get in like y’all did with Adorable. And you still can’t pull recruits like “Bama”. Carroll could though. But we all know that story. Lol

          • Pudly76

You are delirious! Seriously. DTR has told multiple he is ours if we called. Why don’t you ask Darnay and his buddy from the all-star game last year, they both wanted to flip right then, him and Jalen, but we were full. Fuzzy math and revisionist history must be your major, hum?

          • Bruin 34

Damn! You should straight up be commited! Just do yourself and the rest of your $C bro’s a favor and stop now. Just wow! Lol rotmff!

          • Pudly76

Boring troll, all bs, no substance.

          • Bruin 34

All facts! Not the message board info you provide. Now that’s embarassing!

          • Pudly76

Boring troll. My info comes from national and local syndicated writers and prognosticators. Even Vegas says your crazy. Beat it.

          • Bruin 34

Vegas and beat writers have you winning the Natty every year. How many you have since uncle Peter left? Doh! That’s right. Wash, rinse, repeat! Nothing better than that? I’m disappointed! 》:/

          • Pudly76

Now being wrong isn’t good enough, let’s just bend the truth. It was ruins who were picked last year for the PAC and playoffs. It was your boys who let people down again. We had our turn in ’12, so what. We have the 9 game win streak, not you. We exceeded expectations, unlike your gutless wonders out of wimpwood!!
See you got a transfer lineman out of Miami, wow. How many games did he start. And of those, why was he ALWAYS pulled?
Go worship at the peckerhead temple, you own it.

          • Bruin 34

Again. You need to study buddy. Odogwu was a starter but got injured. He’s fine. All 6’8 & 320 pounds of him. Yeah. We bombed last year. Ish happens. Enter 2017 :))))))

          • Pudly76

Read the Miami papers. I did my homework. More than one article about his lack of effort or enthusiasm for the job. Never, ever was a regular starter. Never started multiple games in a row, except to cover an injury, never finished a game he started. Sorry.

          • Bruin 34

Ha, Ha, now I know you are BS’ing. Keep trying though.

          • Pudly76

Look it up. Easy to find. Now go home, I’m busy.

          • Bruin 34

Busy doing what? Ball washing Darnold or Helton?

          • Jack B

Don’t waste your time on this little gutty Troll. The dude’s ignorant and desperate for a bruin rebound after solid mediocrity since the old days of Cade McNown.

It’s called the Curse of Cade! Since Cade, ucla has lost more football games than a blind quarterback. They’re literally like a .500 team since the end of the nineties!

ucla doesn’t even aim for the Rose Bowl anymore. It’s simply out of their reach. Hah, hah, hah.

It’s great to own La La Land.

          • Pasadena Trojan

It will happen again this year to ugly. U can expect the sun to rise on the east and ugly to bomb for the season

          • Pasadena Trojan

Jalen Phillips and Darnley wanted to go to USC, but the fathers forced them to attend that second rate jr. high school, ugly. My sources are from a player that had originally committed to ugly but went to USC. Another source is a player on sc who played with Darnay in little league. His parents know darnay’s father. I know the two sources ver well

          • Pasadena Trojan

Just like Billy Joe Jackson who had a scholarship to ugly but was certified that he could neither read or write, but attended ugly with those facts.

          • Bruin 34

So bad in the pocket that most NFL scouts have him number 1 overall. Darnold got love last year. We will see what the one hit wonder does this year. Like I said before. I’ll say it again. Who is the WR on your team with top end speed that can take the top off a defense? O line won’t be good enough to just try and rely on running game. Darnold gonna be running for his life like Rosen was last year lol.

          • Pasadena Trojan

Lewis, Vaughn, Pitman, Imatraboo, Burnett, Mitchell and the freshman. Ruin, that answers your question which you keep asking.

          • Pasadena Trojan

But, but, but, ugly has nothing to show for the last 88 years. Losers

          • Pasadena Trojan

U guys predicted that Rosen was going to win the hesitant his freshman and sophomore years and that the ruins were going to win the natty as well. We all know how that went. Ugly went where it belonged, in the losers column, as usual

          • Pasadena Trojan

Darnley is soft. His dad is another LaVar. Ugly sucks.

          • Pudly76

Backed into Rose Bowl? Hmm, by beating both participants in the CCG? If you say so. But it was the ruins who backed into the CCG after getting whipped, beaten and destroyed by 50-0 by the true PAC 12 So. champs. Then got your a$ses handed to you again. Didn’t belong, never belonged, will never belong. Big win of the season for the ruins is the SC game, big win for the Trojans is the CCG, a major bowl and the playoffs.
Get a life and look at reality, ruins are fodder for any good team.

          • Uncle Rico

Ouch!. Be easy on the little fella who needs to vote up his own post. Just give him a face hug and thank him for doing the jobs that Trojans would never do.
            #youlookgoodinbabyblue

          • Bruin 34

Perhaps you can enlighten me as to how you are winning the South and the Pac 12? Oh. And Darnold is winning the Heisman too eh? Damn. I guess Cheat Carroll is walking through that door before the season starts. Lol. Smh.

          • SCgrad12

Why don’t you worry about getting by Stanford for once.

          • Jack B

i figure ucla’s good for 7 wins but they’ll get smoked again by SC, STAN, UW and UTAH for sure.

Am hoping A&M beats the little gutties with another late TD to kick it all off at the Rose Bowl. Loved it when STAN took it to them last season in Morton’s corner.

          • Bruin 34

They’ve beaten us 9 in a row sure. All things come to an end. Good thing we lead in head to head matchups all time. Phew!

          • Sas

Bruin 34. Please keep coming back to this site. Pretty good bruin talk from you!
Just kidding buddy! What are you Bruins smoking?

          • Bruin 34

            That’s all you got??? Smh

        • Cloud Shaman

Offensive line smaller and more athletic and agile that will support an opportunistic quarterback and an offense overloaded with skill players.

  • LAfan

    Cue Allen Iverson
