USC Bowl Projection

Bowl guru Jerry Palm projects USC playing Ohio State in the Rose Bowl, which is a College Football Playoff game. The winner plays Alabama or Florida State. Would the CFP place USC in the Rose Bowl, which is like a home game?

  1. The highest ranked team plays at the closest stadium, so it is not a road type game. If Palm had Alabama #1, then we can assume USC and OSU were the number 2 & 3 ranked teams, in which ever order you want. The Rose Bowl would feel like a road game for Alabama, so it gets to play in the Sugar Bowl vs the #4 ranked FSU.

  2. I’ve seen early lines that have us winning this matchup. Yet to see us lose to tOSU on any Vegas line. Just win, baby!

  3. I would like to see USC in the Sugar Bowl ‘because’ USC has never played in ‘The Sugar Bowl’.

        • Alv, I always thought it cool to go into a new stadium and show them what we’ve got. Nothing better.

          • I loved it when USC went to the Orange Bowl and crushed Iowa. Iowa was averaging 250 yds rushing and passing per game and USC shut them down with Palomalu not playing. That was awesome.

          • Yeah all those yellow and black centipedes booking 3 minutes into the 2nd half – it was brutal!

          • That’s what we’re talking about! There’s only a couple of these bowls worth our time…Sugar should be on the list.

    • Disagree Alavardo. The championship game is in Atlanta. That means that USC would play in New Orleans and then Atlanta on consecutive weeks. Too much traveling and time wasted traveling. That will be three long trips to the Midwest and southwest. Let USC play at the rosebowl

  4. USC would not lose to Ohio St. in LA, Urban Meyer or not. But that is a long ways away. It is one game at a time with some luck to get to the Rose Bowl & the playoff.

    • You really just compared Helton to Urban Myer!!!!???? Are you completely gone????

The same Helton that couldn’t even see the talent in Darnold until he was desperate enough to do anything to try and win.

You’ve lost all your posting privelages!

      Lmmfao! Rotfl!

      • The venue man, you know Ohio St hasn’t beaten USC in some 20-years. Sometimes a team just has it over another. Like Stanford over UCLA.

  5. the big set-up continues. Scotty, how do you SLEEP at night knowing you are manipulating these dummies so easily???

the trojies on this blog seem to have no natural defense against these kind of macho head games….kind of like Dodo birds.

  6. If I have the bowl priority structure right, “Bowl guru” Jerry Palm has the PAC12 shaking out like this:

    P12 #1 USC – Playoffs
    #2 WA – Fiesta
    #3 Wazzu – Cactus
    #4 Stanford – Alamo
    #5 Oregon – Holiday
    #6 ucla – Foster Farms
    #7 Utah – Sun
    #8 Colorado – Las Vegas

  7. Of course they would – the Ohio State/SC (Big 10/Pac-12) match-up would be mouth watering. It would be the most watched playoff game since the new format began.
