hmmm,,,guess theyre cant be a black fist teem qb, racist much? gee thanks alot trump! smdh

    • Michael Guarino

There’s plenty to fix in our country —and lots of serious, good people are going about doing that everyday, Ed. But now that every crybaby, misfit and oddball has gotten to say the word “racist” at least once in the last week, can we get back to normal on this blog?? The vast majority of us are tired of the kindergarten rants.

      • j metaphor

Not me, kindergarten rants are why I come here.(and to watch you eat out of Scottie’s hand)

        • Michael Guarino

Ha! Let’s be clear —there are good kindergarten rants and there are bad kindergarten rants.

  • Ed Garrett

every ones away jerseys r racist cuz their white

  • SCgrad12

So tell us Wolf, how are you going to spin this in a negative way?

    • 04Trojan

Wait for it in a later post today.

      • USC jojo

        He’s in love with Sam.

        • 04Trojan

          Flow could find a way.

    Back to FOOTBALL:

    Scooby-Kudos to

    LB Josey Jewell, senior, Iowa
247 composite 7783, only 1 major offer (Iowa, plus ND, ND State and N Iowa), now a 1st-team All-American.

OG Cody O’Connell, senior, Washington State.
    247 composite 8361 offered by Wazzu and Idaho, now a 1st-team All-American.

WR James Washington, senior, Oklahoma State
247 composite 8451 wanted by few, (Texas, TCU and Tx State) now a 1st-team All-American.

    • Michael Guarino

Have you noticed how many first team All Americans are on teams we play this season? Notre Dame, Texas, Washington State, and (in the Pac 12 Championship), Washington.

      • hoohoolianFUCLA

I’m still lamenting Rashan Gary and Ed Oliver not coming…

        • Michael Guarino

Yeah, I hear you on that —–but have you noticed the cohesion on this year’s team? They like playing ball together! That’s huge.

          • hoohoolianFUCLA

            “They like playing ball together!”

A happy team is very important. I wish it would translate into quality play on the field.

The D is doing very well, Jack-Jack being the lone question mark. The jury is still out on the offense. I don’t see much confidence from anyone in our OL, at WR or with the kicking game. Kick and Punt return is still lacking any praise as well. We can only assume Tilbey will continues his 39 yards and a cloud of musk.

I can only assume that all the calls for Carr to break out is more about Carr looking like a monster than RJII lacking.

          • Michael Guarino

Everybody who has seen Carr CATCH the ball sez there is no comparison between his hands and Rojo’s —-Carr is supposed to be first rate in this department (but, then again, so is Ware). And here’s an interesting development, hoohoolian —according to Sam, the O-Line is starting to look REAL good (he must be seeing stuff in practice that the beat writers are missing). The kicking game may be a joke all year, though.

          • hoohoolianFUCLA

            RE: Kicking game a joke

I don’t mind the idea that between the 30 and the 10, Darnold will be thinking “we need a TD.”

Sam can get it done, especially with several targets at 6’4″-or-better, superb RBs and nice wheels of his own.

          • Michael Guarino

I totally agree. It could be a blessing in disguise. When Carson Palmer was playing for Pete we’d throw high to Mike Williams at the back line of the end zone as soon as we reached the 25 yard line. Lots of touchdown came off of that —-and Sam has a stronger arm than Carson.

        • Pudly76

          Especially Oliver.

          • Michael Guarino

Hate to admit it —but there’s no way of getting around it.

      • rusoviet

Awful lot of ACC on that list I mean a lot Mike

        • Michael Guarino

ACC claims it, not SEC, is tops, Alv.

Saturday from Sydney-AUS stanford vs. Rice @ 7:00 pm PST and the fight Mayweather vs. McGregor @ 8:00 pm PDT.

Watch the game…not sure about that fight.

Love that new ‘Fight For LA’ Charger ad

          • Michael Guarino

You have to watch the fight, Alv —-it will be such a joke. EVERY time McGregor misses a punch (which will be several umpteen times every round), Floyd will grab him behind the neck and pull his head down REAL HARD. By the fourth round he will be tired and dizzy from getting shoved around (just like Manny was). Anyone interested in learning how you beat up a guy with superior strength should take notes.
Oh, yeah! I love that Charger ad, too!

  • j metaphor

Dude is good, no question about that.
The question is; Can he beat the dreaded SI Cover Curse?
    #BullsEyeOnHisBack

    • Sas

That’s the way it should be J.

      • Michael Guarino

Yeah, Sam —it’s only a problem if you make it a problem. Sam isn’t the kind of guy who shrinks from challenge. Did you hear him say the other day, “It’s nice to have a few more practices but I’m ready to play a game right now!”

        • Sas

That’s right Mike. Sam is a different kind of kid. He just plays ball no matter how big the stage is.

          • Rabb

Very humble kid, never to high or to low. True professional at a young age, respects the game. Never disrespectful to the fans or media alike. Always willing to get better. Loves to compete, never complains. I for one hope he and the team nothing but success and make the playoffs. His legacy hasn’t been written yet, but has started. What an amazing young man. I always use Sam as example how to be great and remain humble while playing sports. What’s there not to love about this kid. This team sure has the potential to be one of the best teams in country. Fight On✌

          • Michael Guarino

Really nicely stated. And you’re right —the kid has ‘mega star’ written all over him and yet he’s still got his priorities as straight as a country boy.

          • Rabb

Congrats to all the Trojans on this list. What the heck, Congrats to all the young men on the list.✌

          • Michael Guarino

            Exactly!

          • Jack B

Darnold’s just an amazing kid. They don’t make ’em like that every day. I think he’ll have another tremendous year and continue to cement his legacy as USC’s best QB ever.

          • Rabb

This team sure has great character young men. I’m excited for this season to kickoff. Fight On✌

          • Sas

            Well said!

    • Jack B

Typical wimp boy believes that being on the SI cover is some kind of actual “curse”. What an idiot. You probably also keep voodoo dolls in your sock drawer and believe garlic repels vampires. No wonder you’re a little gutty Troll.

You must believe in the Curse of Cade too. So the question is, will you crappy bruins ever overcome it or will you just continue to stink for another 20 years? That’s some curse wimp boy. Hah, hah, hah.

Get ready for yet another beatdown led by Sam Darnold on Nov 18. That’ll be a nice little practice game for USC headed to the Conf Cham game while you little gutties will be praying to your voodoo dolls that your petition to get into a bowl game will work again.

      • j metaphor

Please, please Mr. Jack your clever words hurt me so much, Please Stop.
When you call me a wimp and laugh at your own brilliant jokes ha,ha,ha., it hurts toooo much!

    • The USC Heisman 7

So if you believe in the SI curse.. Boy John Rosen is in for another horrific season.. Mr Academics is just a bad Qb..with no skills..

He was also on 3 covers for SI this year.. Lol .. Blame SI #foolio

  • Sas

Finebaum puts the spotlight on Sam Darnold.

  • Sas

Utah QB Tyler Huntley named starter over Alabama Transfer Cooper Bateman.

    • The USC Heisman 7

Interesting.. Bateman had the same tag as Max Browne… Can’t miss.. Boy the sports pundits were wrong. Hope all is well Sammy!

      • Sas

All is well buddy! Busy but well!
And you hit it right with the comparisons to Max. Saban even gave up on him in some regard.

  • jim

Too much attention for a kid who is just barely 20 years old. I hope it doesn’t go to his head. The kind of headlines that I like are the stories like the recent one where some sportswriters(or whatever) got together and voted SC as the most over-rated team in the country. Headlines like that will motivate the team because I don’t think these kids think that they are over-rated. I think that they really think that if they work hard enough, they can win a national championship. Headlines like that will motivate them to work hard. I just don’t want to see another 2012 happen.

  • j metaphor

    Wasn’t Matt Barkley a pre-season Heisman pick?

    • Pudly76

Wasn’t rosen a sure fire, can’t miss prospect. Bound to go on to heisman and all-American status? Hmmm.
