  1. Very few Trojans care one way or the other —-But (for the one or two who do)—-I noticed that Robert Byrd has been selected as the ref for this fight. Byrd will let Mayweather do what he likes best—-take a guy off offense by grabbing him behind the neck and pulling his head down. If he wants to, Mayweather could hit McGregor all day with lefts, and pull his head down when he rushes in. The only problem for Mayweather is he likes to get guys off of him by shoving their shoulder blades with both gloves. I always thought that was the perfect way of ending an exchange when I used to box —-but Anthony Joshua came up with something new in his fight with Kitschko. When Klitschko stretched out his arms to shove, Anthony bobbed and came back with an uppercut between Klitschko’s extended arms. If McGregor learned anything from that fight (which I doubt), he could have ONE trick up his sleeve.

    • Had no idea that either fighter went to USC . Say hi to Mamie..lol.. 6 more days.. Can’t wait!

      • We will have SO many more answers by Sept. 2nd, Heisman Seven! Can the o-line play together as a unit? Can our newbie receivers hold on to the ball in traffic? How does Rojo look with the extra weight? Is there a drop off at corner w/o Adoree?

        • It will be a fun season.. I attended 4 practices, the staff will have these kids ready for a NC run…

          • So….you’re saying our Scott was wrong when he said on NBC radio that USC is NOT a top 4 team? (although he did, magnanimously allow that we are a “top 10 team”)…..

          • For some reason that I can’t figure out, Scott (correctly) points out our weaknesses (O-line, new receivers) without realizing that every team has vulnerabilities at some position. Luckily, our problems aren’t at quarterback —like Alabama and LSU. We have great talent at quarterback and running back, great potential everywhere, and great coaching. I really like our chances —and so does almost everybody else!

          • Its his job to write what he sees good or bad.. Yet I don’t see any holes, I have played watched many games.. His negative spin is all clickbate for all of us to discuss.. In the end I put my money on USC to go to the promise land!

          • Yeah, I agree —-and I’ve always liked the fact that Scott soberly points out potential problems. He’s been good at identifying weaknesses early. But USC isn’t playing football against God —they’re playing against Stanford, Notre Dame, Texas and ULCA —all of whom have LOTS of problems of their own.
I’ll take us against anybody this year, including Alabama —which has seen one too many Offensive Coordinators in the past year.

          • My only real worry, I guess, would be the depth of our offensive line. But in reality, most teams would have the same problem.

          • Maybe he doesn’t want to jinx the team by being too optimistic. I agree with you that this is a special team that will win the NC.

          • They all looked great.. Time will tell who will step up. .. Tufele is a huge get with great upside.

          • I’ve seen practice clips where Tupulotu and Tufele look unreal —they play like juniors or seniors. Couldn’t be more impressed with those guys! Our defense is gonna make a certain guy named Josh think seriously about whether he wants to throw a football on November 18th.

          • Yeah, by November they should have their ears pinned back and ready, I’m hoping that maybe they show us something for stanfurd and ut.

          • I have a feeling —based on the speed and ferocity that I’ve seen —-that they’re gonna show up BIG TIME against Stanford. I think we really want to show Shaw that we’re the more physical team now.

          • This was my hope when I first heard of these kids a couple years ago. Although Tuipulotu was a UW commit, once I started hearing rumors of his flip, I got quite excited because he was actually higher rated than Tufele or Wilson (FSU), by some of the services.

          • Most everybody’s got him rated way up there (including Phil Steele —whose out of high school ratings I respect). Plus Marlon was here for Spring. Invaluable!

          • That’s what the experienced watchers are saying, Seven. The freshman receivers have been grabbing balls out of the defenders’ hands —-something they couldn’t do in the Spring Scrimmage. The confidence is there now.

    • The referee has the same name as the Grand Kleagle of the Sophia, West Virginia KKK? ESPN must demand he be replaced !

  2. If McGregor can throw left & right field punches like Aaron Pryor or better yet, Leon Spinks for 4 or 5 rds, he can KO the older Mayweather.

As an example, how did S. R. Leonard fare in his last fight.

    • …there’s a little tiny bit of a difference between the late, great Hector Camacho and novice, McGregor……

      • This is all a setup for multiple fights.. McGregor will take a dive and Money will claim victory with McGregor and camp wanting a rematch..

        • Yeah, my brother —-I should have prefaced my answer with, “If this fight is on the up and up….”

  3. got to hand it to MacGregor, he Lavar Ball’d his way to a huge payday just by being more obnoxious than Mayweather. he has no chance to win. it’s like Mike Phelps deciding to challenge champion high diver for the title.with zero diving competition under his belt.

    • I don’t know if you’re watching — but it looks like McGregor is starting to realize the truth of what you just said—-he looks nervous. Now the show is over. It’s fight time. In front of tens of millions.

      • i’ll admit i would like to see it, but can’t bring myself to put any dough in these two jerks’ coffers.

only question i have is when Macgregor is exhausted at end i wonder if Mayweather will beat the crap out of him or just stay away the whole fight.

        • As long as we’re being honest here, I really had to think long and hard about paying the ridiculous Pay Per View price on this one —but I’ll make it up by cutting corners on family birthday presents.
I think it’s part of the implicit contract that NOBODY gets knocked out in this one —but, on the very off chance I’m wrong, I’ll be glued to the set………

        • Crap! I SO hate to admit it! You totally called this fight! Floyd “beat the crap” out of him when he got tired —Floyd turned slugger!

  4. You forgot the mist popular option: who cares. Why is this crap televised? It’s complete nonsense.
