    Come on over TEXAS fans.

USC’s got a nice little surprise for you on Saturday, although I think you already know what’s coming. Make sure and show up Matthew McConaughey. It’s gonna be a blast.

    • Pudly76

Which power 5 coach has the longest current win streak?

      • Jack B

        Helton baby!

        • Pudly76

You know Jack, when you think about how messed up the roster had gotten, he’s done a great job. Remember we had no tight ends after rude got bounced, he fixed that. Then suddenly no nose tackles, addressed that, now rebuilding the offensive line. I really impressed with the way it’s working out so far…

  • Rob

Vince Young has two years of eligibility left… He is coming to get all you southern cal dummies!

    • Jethro G Sabbath

      Just plain Rob?

      • Ted

That’s his name…don’t wear it out! Rob don’t pay these dummies no mind! You keep doing you brotha!

        • SCgrad12

Theodore, which metro station are you going to be in this Saturday playing your fiddle? UCLA is a non factor.

        • Jack B

Nobody even gives a crap about you little gutties are doing this weekend. Is that because you have a BYE?

          • marvgoux1

            Memphis = bye?

        • USC jojo

          Hey there Charlie.

        • Jethro G Sabbath

          Do you know him?

          • Ted

In the southern cal blog Rob is no one and everyone…

          • Jethro G Sabbath

            Thanks for clearing that up.

    • SCgrad12

What happened to your dpfirst name, Bruin? Too embarrassed to keep it?

    • Sas

Oh yeah well Cade McNown has to wear arm floaties when swimming these days after the beating Edgerin James and Miami put on him and his Uncle Porky Bob Toledo. Ucla football better not play a game in the rain.

      • JustOwns

        Cade 4 wins – bozo u 0.

        • Sas

Then don’t bring up the Texas National Championship game because everyone on that USC roster hit Ucla in the belly with a big bar of soap. All of them. Those games weren’t even competitive.

          • marvgoux1

Did those games happen now according to the NCAA?

          • Sas

I don’t know. I can’t look at a highlight or replay of that game. Vince Young definitely happened. It still stings so yeah it happened.

          • Jack B

Look at it this way Sas.

i believe almost the entire USC team knew Young was gonna somehow get it in. Players interviewed on our sidelines have said as much. Nobody could barely stand to watch.

I know watching the last part of the game at a fellow Trojan’s house and seeing players like Ting drop throw-up picks and Bing commit that late pass interference, I lost confidence in USC’s ability to stop Young. For good reason.

The tide had turned against the Trojans. It was sad, but TEXAS earned it and they made us pay for a lot of mistakes.

I’ll never understand any so-called plausible USC argument justifying a good reason to keep Reggie off the field when Lendale got stopped short, but we deserve what we got. We were so dumb, I don’t know how such a self-destructive team could have expected to win. Our stupidity and weakness on D beat us. Sure, it would have been easy to win it. But we didn’t deserve it.

I think our hubris caught up with us. We had won 34 straight. We played like we were recklessly bullet proof. It turned out we weren’t and Young was the guy wearing the S on his chest.

Maybe this weekend will afford us the chance to exorcise a few more ghosts. I don’t really care anymore. I’m all about 2017 and it’s about now, not 2006.

We’ve got a potentially great team. TEXAS will show us just how great.

          • Sas

I agree word for word. Young scoring was a shock. It was extremely painful to see him cross the goal line, what hurts is the opportunities we tripped over from the beginning to the end. Young was great, we hurt ourselves more in that game than any I could remember. We’ll get them Saturday.

          • Jack B

I remember when we beat a really good Notre Dame team in 1970 in the rain at the Coliseum 38-28. I drank way too much Peppermint Schnapps. Had the time of my life and so did the USC Trojans.

Theismann was unstoppable. Notre Dame fumbled in the mud so many times I lost count. I bet the Irish players still talk among themselves about how they threw that game away against a very mediocre USC squad.

            It happens to us all.

          • Sas

They were playing a Notre Dame/Lou Holtz Documentary or 30 for 30 on ESPN a little while ago so they are itching to find a way back to the top. We still owe them a couple more smacks to the face.
I’ll be leaving at 4:30am Saturday for the game and it may be the only one I get to this season so I hope we take care of business. Make our point to Texas and the nation by dominating the Longhorns, and try not to do anything that gives the Texas fans life to cheer on a nail biter. We got this.

          • Jack B

I’m sure we’ll be very ready. I expect TEXAS to hang tough for awhile, like STAN. But then I think we’ll pull away and win again by at least 20.

          • Sas

That’s sounds right and I’m good with that outcome. Texas has a ways to go and it’ll be apparent watching this matchup that USC’s program and the Texas program are on different paths right now.

One more thing Jack, in my last comment to you my auto spell tricked me, but on Young scoring it actually was supposed to read “Young scoring WASN’T a shock”

            WASN’T…..
Everyone witnessed how he beat single handedly.

          • Grammymb

How was Young scoring a shock? Did you see the other 59 minutes of the game?

          • Sas

Grammy pull those big period panties up and chill out for a second.

            I typed…..

            “Young scoring WASN’T a shock”

two maybe three times and my auto spell was getting the best of me.

So Grammy, that’s the truth. The whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Please believe me and goodnight .

          • Grammymb

I believe you, just take few seconds to proofread. Like in 2nd grade. Type what you mean and mean what you type. That’s all. Good night.

          • Pete Smith

            Spot on Fight On

          • marvgoux1

The sign things were bad for the defense was we were forced to play freshman Kevin Thomas as a DB. Watch the last TD and there he is in the end zone watching Young stroll in.

          • Jack B

It was a helluva battle and we were tantalizingly close. Strangely, in the end, we were undermanned on D and reckless on O.

We should have been able to stop Vince Young on that final drive. Yet he scorched us with it all on the line. We leaked a little bit at the seams that night. I don’t think we ever even tried to spy Young all night.

Carroll was truly a genius coach for us in more ways than one, but I don’t think that Rose Bowl was his best game, by far. TEXAS zeroed in our on weaknesses. Isn’t that what football gamesmanship is all about?

          • JustOwns

Oh po’, po’, po’ Sammy, no Idea what you’re screeching on about. Perhaps, you need to remove the bozo u, official walk through jock strap from your mouth.

Fact Sammy: bozo u choked away a 12 lead with 10 mins to go snatching a brutal, humiliating defeat from the jaws of a BCS Championship.

            #Cade 4 – bozo u 0

          • Sas

Ucla will never be in a conversation at the bar or while waiting in line at home depot because they choked in November before the big game. Ucla can hold that 8 game forever but in the end we were came out untouched since Ucla couldn’t put together for Terry or Bobby. That’s choking.

        • SCgrad12

Rodney Peete 2 Troy Aikman 0.

          • Jack B

And then, there’s the Curse of Cade. ucla has been paying for their little streak ever since. It’s real!

          • marvgoux1

They were cursed while Cade was there. They somehow won 20 in a row with nothing to show for it.

          • rusoviet

Ohhh that’s a good one – best was McNown repeating that handicap parking stunt he did at bel-air tech over at the Bears training camp the following Summer

          • Jack B

ucla has so few real national accomplishments in its football history, I could count them on 3 fingers.

And ucla would count #4 as their long ago eight-game win streak. In Wimpwood, it’s always about the Trojans.

          • JustOwns

Record for rivalry consecutive FB games wins: UCLA 8……bozo u was close the tieing UCLA’s record but choka, choka, choka’d to a 13 – 9 loss at the crumbling mausoleum.

          • Grammymb

Get your facts straight maroon. BTW USC was 12-1 against the bRUINS during that stretch.

      • rusoviet

Hey Sas where ya’ been? Good to see ya!

        • Sas

I’ve been here. Just not as frequent. The days have hot and I have to rush to try and get done in time for my son’s practices. So far so good but now the better half is always trying to get me to bring home her Starbucks or dinner. I can’t complain as long we are winning!

    • USC jojo

      Hey Charlie.

  • steveg

Texas should have known better, they play USC in what is going to be one of the greatest USC seasons ever. Don’t take it personal.

    • Grammymb

Yes they should have whipped out their 5 year crystal ball and figured it out before scheduling the game. Sheesh.

    • Pudly76

They never saw it coming, much like wolf, they thought the sanctions would have had us down another 5-10 years.

  • Pete

Here comes the oil money. BTW, here’s a little info on Vince Young.
Vince Young net worth and salary: Vince Young is a former NFL player who has a net worth of negative $1.5 million. Vince Young was born on May 18, 1982 in Houston, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin.

    • JustOwns

You forgot something petey………2006 BCS Championship game: Texas 41 – bozo u 38.

      • Golden Trojan

Don’t you know, according to the NCAA, that game never happened.

        • JustOwns

bozo u FB loser excuse # 342: blame the loss on the NCAA.

          • Gabby

What’s your excuse for never ever, ever ,ever winning one outright….I’m waiting

          • FIGHTONtoVICTORY

They’ve never even participated in one!

          • JustOwns

FOtV, aren’t you referring to the bozo u Basketball program missing the Final Four for….drum roll please….63 years.

          • Pasadena Trojan

Squatter, so has ugly. They were all bought by Gilbert. Ugly has never won a bball championship, just paid for.

          • FIGHTONtoVICTORY

Couldn’t care less about basketball; Pro or collegiate. Keep reaching though!

      • Gabby

Now that seats have been replaced. Can you please start on the urinals. The silent flush ones are nice….just saying

      • Pete

And you forgot they were in a championship game. HA-HA. The Ruins got no rush defense. Hawaii gashed them for 281yrds. Hawaii pays their coach 1.6mil…..over 4years.

        • JustOwns

          Snore.

  • Clay Russell

It would be something if Texas brought and displayed the National Championship trophy from 2005.

    • Hector of Troy

It would something if SAM threw one one of bounds and “accidentally” turned it into shattered glass.

      • Clay Russell

Ha ha…oops. That would be pretty cool.

  • Trojan Dynasty

Guess those who are coming to the game are hoping for the same artificial result by the refs as their prized NC game some years ago.

    • Pudly76

We have instant replay now, thanks to that game.

      • Brent4c

There was instant replay in that game. Another example of horrendous officiating. Young pithed the ball for a TD when his knee was already down in first half and WR fumbled on last drive. Pretty clear cut

        • Pudly76

You’re right about the equipment being there, but it was just being tested, not used for reviews…there were many calls that would have been overturned.

          • rusoviet

Bad calls are part of any memorable game

          • Pudly76

Quite frankly, it’s part of what makes it memorable…especially when you overcome the additional obstacles.

          • Brent4c

No, review was in effect. Watch a replay of the game and you will see. It was useless but was being used.

          • Pudly76

Texas and USC had the option to use replay, both teams had to agree for it to be official. Texas opted out as Mack Brown was against it.

        • Trojan Dynasty

Horrendous? No question! But it probably was intended to be that way on that day.

        • rusoviet

Yeah well tell it to the MI fans – Charles White

          • marvgoux1

            Was that the Earthquake Game?

          • rusoviet

Robinson’s sole ‘NC’ that the corrupt pollsters split with AL even though USC had blown them away earlier that year – January 1079.

          • Grammymb

That was a long long time ago. Not sure the “facts” are even true. We should be over that one too.

        • Grammymb

Time to face the facts. Even if he was ruled down they would have eventually scored anyway. Kinda like the 3 OT game against Stanford. Kiffen should have gone for 2 in the 2nd OT cuz there was no way the D was gonna stop them.

          • Brent4c

Very likely. The fumble that was not ruled a fumble is the one that would have meant game over.

          • Pasadena Trojan

It was 4th down on that play.

      • Pasadena Trojan

They did have instant replay at that game, but for some reason or another, it did not work when young’s knee hit the ground when he threw the pass. How convienent. Also, the refs blew the laterial by bush. It should have been a penality but usc’s ball.

  • Pudly76

Tyreke Smith coming this weekend on official visit, 4* DE out of Ohio by way of Corona, Ca..

    • Sas

This is the kid that we’ve been trending with. Actually I believe we’ve been up there with him since last season but I didn’t know he was playing in Ohio or i wasn’t taking the time to read his profile. Bama is a finalist also right?

      • Pudly76

Yea, been there a few years, still has family local (I.E.), would be great to get him.

Also, Carmen Jackson and Kirk Herbstriet got into it on twitter, after Jackson posting something about playing a friend of his during OSU game. Funny stuff, with Jackson telling Herbie to stuff it, if he didn’t like his opinion then he’d take to USC or Clemson…

        • Sas

          Wow!
Herbie is a little moody from OSU losing, Meyer calling out a former OSU OC that helped him win his Championship named Tom Herman. And Oklahoma’s QB disrespecting his school.

He’s just had a bad week. But what did Carman actually say?

      • Pudly76

Do you have twitter? If you do, go see Scott Schrader and he has it in his feed this afternoon. Including Jackson interview. Good stuff. Free.

        • Sas

I was going to his site when it first started and then my password wasn’t working all the time and stopped going and forgot all about it. I’ll try and check it out before I go to sleep tonight. We’re at dinner right now for my niece, she moves in tomorrow at UCR and will be redshirting in cross country.

          • Pudly76

Congrats, big night!! Somebody is growing up.

          • Sas

Thanks man! She sure is. She really wanted to play soccer at UCSB then her team went to the USC/UCLA soccer game at the Coliseum last year and she wanted to play for SC but she loves running and it got her a scholarship at UCR closer to home. It really made my brother happy because they took a recruiting trip to some school in Minnesota and they offered her for soccer and she almost went to the freezing cold. We’re happy for her.

        • Sas

I accidentally sent the message before I was finished but thanks for the heads up on that bud!

  • ItsAllAboutTheBall

One way to shut Texas up about 2005 is to point out that Fresno State scored more points on that weak 2005 USC defense than Vince Young did.

  • Grammymb

    … in JustOwns mouth.
