Never Believe The Numbers

So these are the crowd counts for the weekend: Chargers-Dolphins: 25,381; Rams-Washington: 56,612; USC-Texas: 84,714.

But who believes any of them? USC said the Texas game was a sellout. There were not nearly 85,000 people at the game with the empty sections in the Coliseum. It was a good crowd but it was less. And who cares about the NFL anyways.

  1. For once – and probably only once – I agree with you, Scott. Who gives a damn about the NFL. man, talk about a league that has lost all of its luster and entertainment value.

  2. Even 85K isn’t too shabby. We might see USC Village #2 if the attendance of every home game averages that for several years. Oh yes, Burger King and Denny’s might be back across the street, too!

    • Burger King and Denny’s. Very Regal, Trojan.

Maybe a Check Cashing place and a tattoo parlor could add some class, too. And a place that teaches people to chew gum with their mouth open.

      • Know what? That wouldn’t shock me a bit, and you shouldn’t be, either. Guess you’re a newbie in the Trojan world, but I’ve seen worse than that in my years around SC. In fact, much worse!

      • BTW, you don’t remember the BK and Denny’s that existed close to the campus? What, are you a SUCLA SUCCer that’s camouflaging as a Trojan fan?

        • Newbie? Wrong way, dude. My first game was in the John Robinson era. Marcus Allen blocking for Charlie White. Eating Blimpies and later, Tommy’s.

When I was older, I found Mr. Jim’s. You don’t need to teeth to eat Mr. Jim’s beef!

Corporate crap food just isn’t my thing.

          • But it’s not corporate CRAP. (Just keep on selecting portions of comment and forget about context or intent or meaning…They give a degree in that over at U.G.L.Y.)

          • Brilliant deduction. At least you’re consistent.

I get it: you like Burger King and Denny’s and don’t think anyone has the right to call their food crap.

        • BTW — right back: I’m insinuating that those things (Denny’s, tattoo parlors, etc.) make USC worse and more slum-like, so why would you think I am a phony?

It took me a long time to make that avatar I use. (Finding a man wearing baby blue sitting on a toilet, etc.)

      • It would be hard for USC to average 85k per home game. Per Reign of Troy, “Since moving into the Coliseum 94 years ago, do you know how many seasons USC has averaged more than 77,500 in attendance per season? Nine.

They did it every year from 2003 to 2010, then again in 2012 when the Trojans were the preseason No. 1 team.

        That’s it. Nine times.”

  3. On paper the game was a sellout. If secondary market failed to resell tickets or fans with tickets chose not to attend, it’s still a sellout. ….more trivial nonsense

Your soccer posts are more entertaining….just saying

  4. Scottie used to contradict himself from post office post, now the contradiction is within the same post.

  5. You give owns and cakes a real job and they disappear….Thanks ruin bob
