Post Practice Injury Report

A lot of players were out today: Steven Mitchell hurt his groin in the game and didn’t practice. Porter Gustin, Rasheem Green, Joseph Lewis, Ajene Harris and Ronald Jones were among those who missed practice. Green rode a bike while Jones did some warmups.

Running backs coach Deland McCullough said he had no reason to believe Jones would not start at Cal.

UPDATED: Of the group, Gustin (toe, shoulder) is probably the most serious injury. The others could be back though USC coach Clay Helton has not said yet.

Collin Cowherd made note of how truly humble a man Clay Helton is – I’m willing to bet that is in stark contrast to Tom Herman and just how did that post-game greet and split go after he watched his sand castle vanish at the hands of a much better quarterback and a team who understood how to win in overtime.

    • Michael Guarino

We’re gonna get another chance to see what the un-humble Herman can do next year, Alv. Luckily, Helton isn’t really all about humility either —-cuz it’s gonna take a real s.o.b. to beat Texas at Texas.

We may have the freshman quarterback next year.

        • Michael Guarino

Coach Herman is relishing that distinct possibility right now, GreenFox.

I didn’t care how he addressed USC and Darnold. Referring to USC, he said, “The other team”, and for Darnold, he did not refer to him at all. This is signs that he has ugly in his blood. The punks don’t refer to usc, they just say the other school. No class, just like ugly.

Begin to believe their own hype

      • rusoviet

That is exactly what I got from both those interviews – a clueless fool is Herman who has nothing but contempt for Helton going into that game and lost – see the USC player thrilled they got first shot in OT when TX chose to defend? Someone knew where the advantage lay and it didn’t lay, for USC, in showing your cards 2nd.

It’ll be an extremely hyped game next year in Austin and remember Herman bailed on his HOU team before their bowl game last year which they lost to San Diego St. in Vegas.

    • USC jojo

It was reported during the game that he left due to a headache. I am not sure if it was a migraine headache.

Toilets, logs, girls’ names —-honestly, isn’t this better than “incluesivity”? Isn’t this what Inside USC should really be all about?

It sounds like Porter is going to be out this week. With the rise of Rector I think we should be fine. Murphy will probably get the start but Rector is the game changer.

      What happened to Betiku?

      • Trojan96

He’s still buried on the depth chart for the time being. I’m a big fan of #99. I think his football IQ needs to catch up with his amazing abilities. More reps will do that for him. Remember Clancy doesn’t like to rotate guys much.
