Deontay Burnett Is Day-To-Day

Like I wrote in the Morning Buzz today, Clay Helton confirmed Deontay Burnett is day-to-day with a shoulder injury. Now what does day-to-day mean? Burnett had his shoulder in a sling Sunday but that doesn’t necessarily mean he is out. If he is supposed to be out 2-3 weeks could he still play Friday? Maybe.

Meanwhile, Ronald Jones practiced and said, “”I’m ready to go Friday.”

  1. Wait a minute. We’re talking about Washington St, aren’t we. The Cougars of eastern Washington state. Aren’t we supposed to beat them even with half a team?

  2. Does anyone know if he got hurt on a play near the Cal sideline around the 40 or so when he got driven into the turf by a second player near the end of the play? Thought at the time it was a borderline dirty play much like the clip that injured one of the D-Lineman that did get called.

  3. If USC’s corners avoid falling down for no apparent reason, then USC should control this game easily.

  4. Ok, you are rewriting what you wrote earlier today.
Are you now asking us to interpret what Clay Helton meant?
Would it not have been easier to ask him while you were there, when he confirmed the injury?

    • Wolf was on the couch all day. He sent one of his cronies to get some answers, but as usual, just more unanswered questions

        • That must of been the emergency owns responded to. According to a source, one of the heads at Five Guys was torn up.

          • Kinda funny how owns just sort of disappears during the football season, when his bRuins inevitably start losing.

  5. Ok wolfie, If you went to the local donut hole and the nice lady told you it’s day to day on when the XL chocolate bars would be available again, would you understand?………probably not

  6. FYI…..Jack Jones was named PAC12 defensive player of the week.

Wolf will mention this in his 3am post

  7. If our starter WRs are banged up and are not able to go all out, then throws to the RBs out of the backfield have got to make up some of this difference in addition to the Tight end. The importance of the running game becomes paramount as our O-line has got to open up running lanes. We need to control the ball against Wazzu and keep our DBs fresh for the passing onslaught that will occur. No matter the lack of imagination in Tee Martin’s playcalling these past weeks, he needs to get out of his funk and do more than every other play call a up the middle RB run that hasn’t been working.

  8. The “injury” is just an excuse to give DB a chance to rest for 2 – 3 days. God knows, he deserves it.

  9. Vaughns, Lewis, Mitchell, Petite (TE), and others need to put in the time and effort at practice this week. They need to concentrate on catching the ball by looking the ball into their hands. Oline needs to make holes for the rb’s. Just assume that Deontay won’t be there this week.
