USC Post-Practice Report

Clay Helton said Deontay Burnett returned to practice and “looked very capable of helping us.” Steven Mitchell (groin) remains doubtful. Daniel Imatorbhebhe (hip) might return by Oct. 21 against Notre Dame, Helton said.

  1. What exactly IS Imatorbhebe’s injury anyway?? This guy looked like the best pass catching TE I can remember seeing at USC. How is it that he suited up and caught a pass a couple games ago, but he’s still out until Oct 21st at LEAST? Was there a new injury? Did he aggravate his existing injury? How do you come in and play so long ago, but still be so far away from playing again? What is he dealing with?

    • Started as a hip flexor, which are funny things to heel, much like groin pulls, you think you’re good until you twist and push off a certain way..there is also a muscle involved. Initially, he was thought to be about 80%, then slid back after playing. The plan for him is to return for the game in south bend.

      • Thanks and I’m glad to see you back delivering good info again. I had a friend who had a little hip flexor but it didn’t take him this long. It had to be pretty severe for D.I. Thanks again.

  2. poor steven mitchell…. he has got to be the most fragile player we have had at troy in a number of years–this guy seems like he is always injured! bad luck i guess….
