Dept. Of Irony

USC coach Andy Enfield hired Tony Bland as an assistant coach at the recommendation of former athletic director Pat Haden, who wanted him to have some coaches who could recruit Southern California. Bland did . . . and thensome.

  1. Good ole’ Pat – – – – his fingerprints are everywhere – sure was able to evade any public humiliation per the Mayr Foundation. Still has that gig shaping the Coliseum in his image as ‘unofficial’ connected to USC but there he is still sliding and nothing approaching the shaming he hurled at Bush.

Question – will Swann be strong per the accusations against the basketball program or is he ‘capper II’

        • Water under the bridge….get a new shtick, same BS for 10+ years….There is no crime in getting a cranium scan

        • You are a disgrace to use the handle of Brutai. It is Brutus the Barber Beefcake. I have met him on a few occasions with the Hulkster when Hogan lived in Northridge.

  2. Where does Pete Carrol fit in? And where does Mike GARRET fit in? Don’t stop there. Where do the Juice’s fingerprints lie?

  3. Not sure I understand what point Wolf is trying to make. The charges against Bland weren’t related to recruiting.

    • Really??!! Funneling money to “RECRUITS” so that they would choose to come to southern cal isn’t recruiting related? You dummies are incredible…at being dummies!!

        • They were already at USC. Bland took money to encourage them to use a financial advisor when they turned pro. I guess I’m a dummy because I actually read the charges.

          • Nope. One of the players is most likely Melton. The other, as alluded to by the LAT, is Daeshon Cherry, who is a 2018 recruit.

          • Read the charges, this had nothing to do with getting players to sign with USC, it was all about getting them to use the services of a financial advisor when they turned pro. I guess that doesn’t fit the narrative that USC haters want to promote so go ahead and ignore the facts.

          • No, we like something more clear cut say, for example the Dean of Medicine filming bong hits in the SoCal Med Center offices. That fits more in with our narrative.

          • In case you care, Bland told the advisor to take care of the player’s families so the players would use the advisor when they turned pro. Bland isn’t accused of giving money to the players or their families.

          • “In one of the articles it says that Bland received $13,000 to funnel 2 players to sign with certain agent and shoe company. Also, he gave $9000 to player’s families.”

          • “Prosecutors charged Bland, placed on administrative leave by USC on Tuesday, with accepting a $13,000 bribe in exchange for steering Trojans players to Christian Dawkins, a former agent trying to start his own firm, and Munish Sood, a financial advisor”

Not sure I see the recruiting violation there but how would I know since I’m a dummy.

          • You must be new here 79… The Libs have never let the facts get in the way of their narrative… You think this clown 88douche has read any of the charging docs??? He’s read the news; the lib fact gatherers…

          • Troy, is that you? I read the docs and read the articles. Why don’t you read my posts and tell me where I’m wrong on the facts? The only thing I’ve said about Bland is that he got in trouble over chump change. I’m guessing all you can come up with is the usual nonsense and name calling. Just the facts please.

          • So you think TB never recruited players with payola bait or future promises of cash?

Instead, you’re claiming TB just used his influence as a bozo u Asst. HC to solicit bribes to illegally encourage bozo players to use a specific agent.

So therefore, not technically a recruiting violation?

          • You or I can think whatever we want but that has nothing to do with what Bland was actually arrested for.

      • Do me a favor. Read the charges against Bland then come back here and let me know if you still think this has anything to do with recruiting.

      • Maybe Bland should funnel money to you so you don’t have to play your fiddle in the metro stations.

    • Andy,
      What’s up buddy?
It sounds like we’ll be getting that big time PG. Elijah Weaver looks like he’s all in. All the CB’s are going to USC now. Dude is a playmaker. Damn this class looks like it could be epic. We get Weaver and finish it off with Bol Bol. We get his last visit and we have the momentum.

  4. Andyain’twinning dishes responsibility for TB’s employment on St. Pat – a clever “who me” strategy.
