How Will USC Possibly Beat WSU (In Football) With All The Basketball Distractions?

Listen to the first 20 seconds. This guy really thinks USC football is distracted by USC basketball? He is right when he says “you all think I’m a USC homer.”

    • your boi is struggling. Perhaps now is the best time to sit on the couch and share a box of donuts. Reassure him he’s the best beat writer/journalist in LA

      • Stanford rattled his cage.. Wait til the weekend, it will be like MMA for Jack Rosen! #theflopper.

  1. THere is no distraction. SC players don’t care. Write a post about the weather in the second half. How that could effect the points spread. I would find that more interesting. This has nothing to do with with this Friday’s game. Hard to believe SW and Melvin Durslag went to the same school.

  2. It had to hurt Wolf big time that Cowherd got an invite to Cal game from a booster and sat in private box. On the other hand Scott was in press box getting beat up by the real press.

    • Cowherd in a private box as a guest of a Socal fan?
Inconceivable! Who would have guessed Socal was washing his tiny huevos with perks????
      (and waxing his creepy eyebrows)
One would never have guessed given his lack of positive attention towards SoCal !!!!

  3. SW bows down again to Cowherd and is now literally replaying his daily 3 hour show on Inside USC. Cowherd should be paying money to small-time SW for all the publicity SC homer Cowherd gets from jealous SW.

Cowherd’s got the biggest sports TV talk show in the land on at the best time slots in the major cities. Co-host Christine Leahy is pretty darn good too. Great to have a homer of Cowherd’s huge national stature while small potato SW struggles to come up with viable blog posts.

    • Wolf’s ego and pride has been devastated. Cakes offered to share a box of donuts with the fragile wolf…..nice guy

    • Jim Rome hated USC, then Jim Rome was a homer for USC, who knows these days. Cowturd thought Gomer was in over his head, now he thinks he’s the second coming of McKay. Does it really matter what Cowturd thinks ?

      • SW clearly and sincerely cares a lot about what Cowherd thinks and says.

SW talks about him constantly, quotes him, misquotes him, highlights him, groans about him, replays him every week, sometimes every day or two.

Does it really matter what SW thinks? Obviously not. Do more people care care about what Cowherd thinks than SW? Yes. By the millions.

        • The Wolfman loves a challenge. He has already outlived all who opposed him;
Sark, Kiffy, Carroll (who ran like a little girl from the NCAA), Garrett and St. Pat.
Cowherd is just another Bush to pee on for Scott.

          • The only little girls around here are you little gutties, Wimp Boy.

Glad to see you show your little gutty face here after STAN hung 58 on your pitiful bruin footballers and laughingly curb stomped your team for #10 in a row.

You predicted a ucla victory over STAN. Born stupid. That’s Wimp Boy for ya.

          • What a beating j takes from you. Why does he keep coming back for MORE?
            #TheArturoGottiOfInsideUSC

          • Yes, very disappointing that Stanford game. It hurts to have one conference loss. We always have problems with Stanford. SoCal on the other hand is a much easier team for us to beat.

          • You seem to forget a little detail, Sark, Kiffy, Carroll (who went on to win a SB), Garrett and St. Pat at some point while employed by USC, all gave wolf the middle finger

          • There’s some truth to what you’ve written about Scott’s survive-ability (he probably should teach courses on the subject)—-but, as Jack points out, how does that make the UCLA/Stanford score look any better ?
            #UnlikeSome,ScottDoesn’tPeeInPublic

          • Wolfie has been right on them all … but even he couldn’t predict the way those clowns failed in such hilarious fashion

  4. sounds like Dumbherd is simply repeating wolfman’s comments from earlier in week! Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!!

    #CopyCatter

  5. So SW says it’s crazy to suggest distractions are a problem in winning this week. But fixing the ticket entrance at the Coliseum will help USC on the road against Cal. that’s money.

    • The ticket entrance should have been fixed before the season started. Amazing how people defend the lazy stupid visionless incompetence of the hired help.

  6. How about taking the ball off the T once in a while and converting a 4th and 1 instead of getting stuffed every time? How about Iman Marshall finally playing like he was hyped up to be coming out of high school? How about the offensive line opening up some holes so we can spring a big run or two? If we can do that, USC wins. If not, long night…(AND NO TURNOVERS!)

  7. For those who have been asking, it looks like Porter Gustin won’t be playing —-but he’s still possible. The good news is that Washington State is gonna be playing without their very talented middle linebacker, Peyton Pelluer. This should really help our running game.

      • The guy replacing Pelluer—Issac Dotson— is not experienced at the position and a little lighter than Pelluer ——if we pound on him, it should start to take a toll by the second quarter.

  8. Las Vegas doesn’t seem too impressed with Cowherd —since he announced a Washington State upset, the point spread has grown in USC’s favor from 3.5 to 4 to 4.5 —with some Casinos offering 5 points.

    • I told you that number would go up(public money). All the sharp money will come in right before kickoff.

      • You did tell me so, Gabby!
As far as Sam’s confidence with his receivers —I think Sam would be firing the ball with more confidence to receivers not named Deontay if it weren’t for the three passes that bounced off Jalen’s palms being seared into his memory banks.
        #LetItGo,Sam–It’sNotYourFault!

    • My concern is even though USC’s been in some tough games this year, they haven’t been in a tough environment. Just hope we get control of the game early and keep the ball away from Wazzu to eliminate the crowd factor which could be huge

      • I actually think that SO much has been made of the hostile environment that the USC players are steeled and ready. No one on our team expects anything but a fanatic bunch of Washington State fans going wild all night long—-there are no surprises in this one. [But I AM worried about a bunch of homer holding calls screwing up our drives—-and don’t get me going on the possibility of a ton of interference calls on Biggie]……
        #WeWinIfWeCornersDoTheirJobs

        • Oh Biggie is the KING of PI. Hopefully he shows up and plays the game of his life. But yeah the holding (and false starts) could get us. Might just be one of those games when we have to beat 1) the opponent, 2) the fans, and 3) the refs. I hope the anxiety I’m gonna deal with all through the game is worth it in the end LOL!

        • I’m afraid sooner or later “Grabby” is gonna cost us big. I presume SC coaches have talked with him 1,000 times about playing the ball instead of close-dancing with the WR.

One can only hope “Grabby” figures out how to cover without blatantly holding. WSU should let us know if this will ever be possible. He’s apparently the best we got, so there’s no other way for us to hide this weakness.

          • When Leach was guiding his Texas Tech team to bowl games, he had some choice receivers for his well recruited quarterbacks to throw the ball to. He [and Falk] don’t have that luxury at Washington State —as a matter of fact, Cal has way better receivers than the Cougars do. Bottom line, if Marshall can’t do his job in this game, he’s never gonna come through for us. I just hope that, if he miraculously gets it together for this game, we don’t get a bunch of b.s. interference calls anyway. A few bad calls could make the difference in this game.

          • I predict USC wins by 10. Will be one of our best performances this year.

I’m more worried about our OL than most, but WSU’s DL is pretty light, so I’m thinking we’ll head downhill on ’em. Sure hope so.

          • I think we win —but, Jack, with this group you never know how much they’ll make us suffer before the final gun.

          • I don’t believe we’ll go undefeated. If we don’t really improve, I think ND will take us down in South Bend.

          • I wonder, Jack. I’m prepared to be surprised by everything that happens from this point on….
            #BeatLeachFirst

          • We’re the box-of-chocolates team this year. But we ARE undefeated. ucla Trolls can stop reading now. You’ve never been undefeated, so this is all new to you.

I really have no idea what to expect from USC FB now. Will we be able to run or not? Will our WRs catch or not? Will Darnold try to do too much or not? Will our DBs get cooked or instead pick off multiple throws? Will Darnold have a game without a pick or not? Will our D stop the run or not? Will Tee Martin call a good game or not? Will we suffer more injuries or not? Will any of our injured starters return this season or not?

We could be great, mediocre or bad at any point in time.

          • Ha! You’ve never sounded more like a lawyer getting ready for trial than you do in this post, Jack. So many moving parts to worry about. I find myself running down the same itemized list.
I have been thinking a lot about Dan Weber’s remark about Sam “not being 100%.” I wonder if Sam is secretly a little disappointed in the receivers. If every catch-able ball had been caught, his numbers would look a lot better—and he’d probably still be at the forefront of the Heisman race. I hope, if this is the case, he puts it behind him and plays the hand he’s been given to the hilt. The NFL doesn’t give a crap about the Heisman, but it cares big time about a quarterback’s ability to win with what he’s got.
As far as Washington State, it has the best quarterback we will face all year —–but it’s all they’ve got. Get in Falk’s face and the game is ours.

          • Notre Dame always provides USC with a lot more competition than ucla. We still have a good shot at beating ND in South Bend, but a victory of you little gutties is a gimme in the Coliseum. I’m not sure we’ll score 58 like STAN did, but USC already kicked STAN to the curb.

Go Buffs! Drill the little gutties in the Rose Bowl – USC’s’ home away from home.

          • I could care less about the Bruins–not everybody who questions the hype given to the Trojans is a Bruin!

  9. This guy is a USC homer, I’ve seen him talking before. Every “smart” sports journalist has USC on upset alert for this Friday, so it’s not like this is going out on a limb for anyone. And the only distraction the football team may have about the FBI investigation is finding out that USC has a basketball team. I didn’t know either.

  10. Weather forecast for Spokane, WA for Friday, Sept 29: At game time 67 degrees; At games end 62 degrees; Sunny, Humidity 37 degrees; Wind 11 mph. BEAT THE COUGARS !!!

  11. Has cowmuff ever come hard at wolf with a good comeback? I haven’t seen that. Would be curious to know muffy’s thoughts.
You know Cowmuff has heard that Wolf rags on him all the time.

  12. For the record I think CC is a bit of a blowhard and provocateur. And for the record I think SW is a bit of a cynical blogger and provocateur. They are perfect for each other.
