USC Thought For Day

USC’s been inconsistent in five games, obviously. The question is why? Are the coaches correcting mistakes? If they are but the players do not understand, play someone else. When you don’t get better as a team, it falls on the coaching. They have top 6 recruiting classes every year. So what is the excuse?

  1. This has to be the worst 4-1 coaching staff in country. Scott we all get you don’t like the coaching staff but the horse does not have a pulse.

    • Nah I’d say that 2012 ‘the princess’ coaching squad was even more inept and they came out with a 12 – 0 record until they met AL.

  2. 30 Scholarships were taken away. 9 leave to play at other schools without having to sit out a year. Injuries so far this season have been nothing short of devastating, but I believe the Trojans will Explode against the Beavers and run them out of town. BEAT THE BEAVERS !!!

  3. It would seem idiotic to assume the coaches are not trying to correct mistakes, but I am not a sports writer, so who knows. Go back several posts ago, there was talk about offensive identity. It needs to be defined. Kind of contradictory about playing someone else, when they get thrown in there Wolf complains about that.

  4. The Pete Carroll Trojans lost 30-27 in Pullman – and Scottie was just as cranky back then. Scottie hated the Carroll hiring. Boy, was he proved wrong….

  5. Last year they got better as the season progressed, so what is the difference this year? Perhaps the injuries do have a lot do do with it. As I’ve said before, I don’t know of any team at any level that would not be impacted offensively by losing 3 of your starting 5 OL.

  6. Yeah, those writers who awarded Banner All-American status probably heard him at Media Day (he was hilarious) and took note his height & weight, but failed to actually watch his tape throughout the year. Great guy – but a top tackle? No.

    • Banner has to officially be the most bogus USC All-America of all-time. Great kid! Terrific sense of humor. Average player – at best.

It’s a shame he’s on the Trojan Wall leading from McKay Center when several other more deserving Trojans are missing. JuJu would have been a borderline choice, but insanely more deserving than Banner.

      • Sometimes big mouths are more efficient for getting famous than real talent and effort.

  7. Just for a little factual verification, both Rivals and Scout have placed two SC recruiting classes in their top six in the past six years. It is amazing how much stuff you just make up.

    • Fact checking is work. Wolf tends to stay away from that stuff. Glad to see you call him out

  8. if there is ONE POLL the trOXans are ALWAYS #1, it’s the Making Excuses Poll!!!!

the coaches, the fans, the players, are ALL amazing at thinking up excuses for ALWAYS falling short of expectations!!

i can’t wait to read the elaborate rationalizations below!!!

Says the ruin fanatic!…..Dude, you really should get the cranium checked out. October is free cranium scan month. Sounds like a win, win

  9. LACK OF PREPARATION! The staff is not prepared, so the kids can not be prepared.. How they practice is showing on the field..
If you have youth, then you need to call plays to allow your young players to succeed. examples: getting rid of the ball faster and rolling out you QB will help.. They have the talent, running the ball is easier when all the young OL have to do is push rather than pass protect
