Helton On Daniel Imatorbhebhe

Here’s USC coach Clay Helton on tight end Daniel Imatorbhebhe: “I don’t know if he can go a full game, but I’m anticipating him contributing in some way this week.”

Did Darnold say that Imatorbhebhe could go a full game and then have to apologize to the coaching staff?

What isn’t so funny is Sam needs Daniel cause he isn’t going to get much help from the O-line in these next games. I believe we will see another poor performance like the Texas game against Utah and probably ND who will not respect our O-line.

If so it stems direct from lack of coaching i.e. injuries and the need to have players close to the starter. I read PC’s practices were brutal but they also toughened the players physically prior to the season starting.

      Dats funny.

I’m proud to say that I’ll be in South Bend next week for the Notre Dame game. In no way am I here to bark it loud or brag, but this is truly a dream come true for me. Can’t wait!

    • Jack B

It’s a great experience. There’s a special feel to the big man on big man (Marv Goux’s description) contest in South Bend and Chicago is fun, boisterous and filled with great places to eat.

One year I went, I remember walking the campus with our group before the game and the ND students had put Anthony Davis’s face all over the sidewalks so you’d be walking all over him. It was a nice touch of pure college spirit.

I was also there the year the Notre Dame team rolled out a Trojan Horse, opened it up and two Irish football players ran down in green jerseys. It was an amazing moment. We lost a tough game that day, as we have every time I’ve been in South Bend. It’s a long bus ride back to Chicago.

Have a great time. You’re in for a treat.

      • Sas

        Thanks Jack!

      • Sas

I hope we can pull out some Trojan magic.

        • Jack B

I’d believe in “magic” a lot more at this stage if the USC o-line could block like ND’s can. If we don’t fix that problem, IMO USC’s other strengths will be negated.

USC hasn’t looked good since the STAN game. I’m not sure what that’s all about and it seems nobody else is either. Let’s face it, we have a fairly bizarre team that’s up and down and has been that way since the beginning this year. I’ll never forget being at the W MICH game and watching us totally hammer them in our first drive. Then USC went to sleep for about two quarters, while the stadium emptied with fans shaking their heads at the curious turn of events.

If USC doesn’t shape up, my experience tells me ND will whip us good. But with this USC team, it’s so hard to know what problems are correctible or not. ND will be loaded for bear and their coach’s job is on the line. Helton has a lot more wiggle room IMO, because of last year’s Rose Bowl.

Yet with Darnold, a super performance is always possible. Maybe he’s ready to explode back into greatness. Maybe this year he just doesn’t have the support or the playcalling to make it happen. Such a curious season w/o stars like Adoree and JuJu. SC is so hard to gauge. I don’t think anyone really knows what to expect with this one. Nothing will surprise me is about all I can say.

Congrats my friend. One of th temples of college football. And to see the pep rally and band serenade will be great. Happy for you.

      • Sas

Thanks man! It’s truly a special trip for us.

        • Pudly76

Have fun my friend, you’ll never forget this trip. If we win it will be especially memorable. Just ask Jack B, he’s never seen them win there. Walking out of nd stadium wearing your Trojan gear and a BIG F’N SMILE, that’s golden.

          • Sas

Bad news. For me. My friends plane ticket is non refundable an can’t be transferred to my name so he has to eat the ticket and I won’t be going. This sucks. His dad is sick on his death bed which was a reason for me to jump in but the only way for his name to be transferred over to my name is with a death certificate. One day. One day.

          • Pudly76

            Bud, NOOO!

Sorry, what else can I say. Try calling the airline yourself and seeing if they’ll transfer it, if you pay. Worth a try, certainly worth fighting for!

          • Sas

We’ve argued it for hours. Nothing can be done without a death certificate. Thanks though. It’s cool. I’ll get to South Bend one day for sure. I just want a Trojan win today and a Dodgers win! That would make this go away.

          • Pudly76

Yeah I get it. They can be heartless sometimes. Sorry.

Anyway, Fight On! Beat the f’n utes!

          • Sas

            Fight On!

    • gotroy22

It is the ultimate sports weekend. Make sure you get some Giordanos deep dish pizza when you are in Chicago. No others can compare!

      • Sas

        Definitely!

        • gotroy22

Giordanos is so good I go to their website and have them Fedex me pizzas on dry ice out here. Show up hungry because they are very filling!

          • Sas

Terrible news. My ticket that I was buying off a friend is non refundable and his name won’t be transferred over to me so i can’t go. No harm, no foul. Next time. He has to take a loss on the ticket to the game and airline tickets. BUMMER!!!!!

  • Brutus Beefcake

this just in…..Dan “the Man” Guerrero will head the Pac12’s Task Force investigating the cheating scandal involving SC, Andy and Tony Bland!!!!

Guerrero is the only man with enough integrity to do this job. his word is basically gospel in the college ranks. word is Danny G has two objectives: he has come to blow bubble gum and kick Azzz….and he’s ALL OUTTA BUBBLE GUM!!!!!!

    #Uh-OhSpeghetti-O!!!

    • Jack B

Why do so many ucla people want Fat Dan to move on?

He’s been a total, relentless failure as far as ucla football goes, but that’s to be expected, so I don’t see why he gets so much blame.

So, why is he so unpopular when rational people understand bruin football is just too grounded in mediocrity to ever be successful with USC in the same town?

      • Pudly76

SB nation has an article on atom Herman and his success as an underdog. When you read the story you get a sense how lucky we were to get out of that game with a win. We actually held them to the lowest points vs spread of all those teams.

I am looking forward to the Red River shootout tomorrow, should be a real head knocker!

        • Jack B

And that Longhorn QB just drilled us. I say we needed a little luck there. But Darnold was also clutch beyond belief in that game.

          • Pudly76

Honestly Jack that was a great game. If only from the stand point of a college football fan. That qb is now the starter at Texas having replaced the original last week. Ok coming off a conference loss and Texas playing for its conference lead, who’d a thunk it?

  • timmay

When coaches don’t think they can develop top talent to simply play in games they’re probably right.

  • Knight7

It is time for I’m-a-poor-bey-bey to grow up and become Imatorbhebhe

  • timmay

Can he block? We need TEs that can block. And a full back that can block. And WRs that can block on the end because that’s where blocking comes on the edge, not the OL. And we need running backs that can block.

Everyone talks about OL which is all fine and dandy but blocking doesn’t work that way. It’s not just the OL hitting a DL in straight in front of him. I used to wonder if some fans didn’t understand or forgot basic football. Now I wonder about some coaches. #NotSayingNames
