This fraud is about a racist department putting up fraudulent classes for a specific group of stuents, only about half of which were athletes (SBNation says 47%). However, you will find an extremely disproportionate number of student who took these courses were Blacks and Blacks who were steered to these classes by UNC staff. So the 11 years of academic fraud (creating “Black studies program” classes that no one needs to attend but can “earn” and “A” in) is not a problem, but covering up something that is no problem IS a problem. As a penalty, Crowder’s name was written down and Nyang’oro got 5 year probation. From BSPN: “Crowder was not punished, but the NCAA said it is making note of her initial lack of cooperation.”

The NCAA is a corrupt organization. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised. They’re not much different than the rest of american society….politicians, judges, the news media, movie stars, rock stars, university professors and administrators, the NFL, the NBA, ESPN and on and on we go. I mentioned this in a post the other day. Luke Falk of WSU the after the SC game stated that ALL of his classes currently are of the online variety. How is that different than UNC? Online classes are ripe for academic fraud. There are few actual “student-athletes” in the major sports at the big institutions.
