  1. Full-time USC homer Colin Cowherd predicts all-over-the-lot USC will get hammered and roughed by ND’s run game in South Bend and says the Irish should be favored by 11-12.

    • Not if that second half style of play continues. USC showed guts last weekend. Gives me some hope for this tough road test.

      • I have much more respect for ND than most around here and I’m a realist. As much as I love SC, I’ve seen it all from the Trojans and this current team is all over the lot and horrid at times.

I think USC has a lot of guts and talent, just not much experienced talent on the OL. That’s critical, and our DL is also thin. I’ve also seen USC very vulnerable to the running game much of this season. That’s what ND is all about.

Last year I thought UW would beat us in Seattle. We played our best game of the year and surprised them. We’ll need to do the exact same thing in South Bend on Saturday. With all our injuries and sloppy play problems, I’m still hoping for the best. But ND’s not as mistake-prone and they have us where they want us under TD Jesus. So I hope USC finally gets its act together and plays a complete game, start to finish. Because if we don’t, it won’t be like coming back against UTAH. ND’s playing for a shot at a NC. Whole different ball game than last week.

          • Wouldn’t that be nice! With Ajene, I’m just happy if he fields the punt and doesn’t let it dribble another 10-15 yds.

          • I don’t know. Depends on what you mean by “hold”. A lot of people have been able to run on us. We’re kind of a bend but don’t break group it seems there. Now, we just lost another DL and Rasheem’s not fully healthy.

So I don’t think we’ll stop ND on the ground. Nobody has. I think we’ll have to outscore ND’s running attack.
