• Michael Guarino

It’s quiet. Too quiet. Does anyone think about the fans when games are played late in the day? What are WE supposed to be doing until game time? Eating? Jogging? Praying?
Here’s a few things to hope for, Trojans: A fight in the tunnel —no injuries —-but several Notre Dame players announce afterwards that they have “nervous stomachs” and would prefer to watch the game form the bench, a couple of Notre Dame players (one being the quarterback) run into each other in warm ups (again, no injuries) —but the players ask permission to leave the stadium and watch the game at home (permission is granted), Scott grabs an NBC microphone right before kick off and tearfully “rescinds” his prediction.

You’re doing it, posting random thoughts

      FIGHT ON!

      • Pudly76

Potential! Should anything happen to Bobble-head Ed, Michael may be able to step right in.

        • Gabby

          Perfect!

When it comes to random thoughts, Pudly, I can go toe to toe with Chuck any day…..

If this game doesn’t start soon, I’ll be suffering an early death by anticipation!

          • Michael Guarino

Funny you should say that, Pudly76 —I was just thinking, “I sure do hope the players are more in the zone than I am right now!’
            #Actually,I’mSureTheyAre!

          • Pudly76

Was watching them enter stadium and during warmups, they look focused and locked in. Chuma Edoga is dressed and warmed up!

          • Michael Guarino

            Yeah!
Whoever’s ahead at half time, it doesn’t matter…..we have to keep fighting either way! It’ll come out okay if we fight them all the way!

          • Pudly76

I hate when we lose any game. But by far I hate to lose to the irish. I hate it worse than I can say, especially at notre Dame. Here’s to winning when it counts!

          • Michael Guarino

I couldn’t more hate the way we started! To STILL be snapping high at this point is criminal. Hope we can put that start behind us and play football!

          • Pudly76

Yeah. Hell. Let’s start again. See if it works.

          • Michael Guarino

I didn’t expect so little poise under fire. Maybe we’ll wake up before it’s too late.

          • Pudly76

If Rector doesn’t hold the edge it’ll be over quick. Hopefully he can adjust.

          • Pudly76

            They’re running at Rector’s side

          • Jim

No team should ever be this unprepared. It’s embarrassing

          • Michael Guarino

People aren’t gonna be viewing Clay to kindly if this keeps up. How does a team come out this flat for this game?

          • Pudly76

There’s a reason Gustin was the starter, he’s (Rector) is great rushing passer, but Gustin holds the edge.

          • Michael Guarino

They wouldn’t be running at Porter’s side.

          • Pudly76

            Seriously doubt it

          • marvgoux1

            They are our true rival.

      • grave soul

        Bow down to Scott, Gabby.

        • Gabby

I’m #256 in line, wolf will all out of bullets by then…..nice try

        • Gabby

Hey Michael Guarino, is that you?

          • grave soul

Why, yes, Gabie…yes it is me.

feeling a bit “low” and hurt after your team got humiliated? Go run to daddy trump now, ya heard?

          • Gabby

I would love to put trump in the cross hairs….nice try

    • Pac12 fan

No they dont care about fans ask Larry Scott

    • grave soul

      SCOTT WAS RIGHT!!
      Like always.

      • Michael Guarino

I don’t mind Scott being right. I just hate it when he’s THIS right!
        I don’t bow.

        • grave soul

You’re alright, Michael G. Scott was prescient this time around.

  • rusoviet

Kelly managed to wrest more control by he and his coaching staff over the previous scholastic requirements specific to the players. It also is telling that his record has steadily declined since 2015 wherein Swarbrick gave him (Kelly) that large extension through 2021 – another 4 years.

His squad’s singular win was over MI St. @ E. Lansing and perhaps that is now not so startling based on MI St. tied w. IN 3 – 3 mid-way through 3rd quarter also @ MI St.

At least Haden, after naming Helton as the full-time coach, gave him 3 firm years with two 1 year extensions.

  • hoohoolianFUCLA

So game starts in about 69 minutes, but the Live chat stream will start in 8 hours and 54 minutes?

Niiiice. Must be UClowns controlling the clock.

    • marvgoux1

      I blame Charlei. Bucket.

  • Gabby

FYI…… Christian Rector named AP mid-season 2nd team all american …only Trojan named on either team

  • hoohoolianFUCLA

Scum Devils are brutalizing the Utes

OK looks like it’s gaining control…

  • rusoviet

Lucky us dwarf Flutie is going to ‘comment’ from a studio before the game.

  • Ted

I predict 3 TD’s for Sam Darnold…. 2 pick 6s and a lucky td to JoJo Smith! As for my prediiction on the final score? Great Scott Wolf speaks for me!

  • Brutus Beefcake

ol’ bumble fingers does it AGAIN!!

    #ElevenFumblesReally??

  • B_Clark

Why is there never safty help over the top? It’s not like we have lock down corners

    • Trojan96

It was a double safety blitz.

  • Trojan96

And we start off another flipping game with a TO and give ND six. WTH!!!

    • Michael Guarino

Really criminal snap. Hope we can put it behind us.

  • steveg

There was virtually zero evidence that SD lost the ball before going down.

    • AtlDDS

      Typical officiating at south bend….

      • Michael Guarino

Long string of weird calls going back decades…..

        • marvgoux1

Like when Todd Marinovich made the first down to ice the game and the Irish ref put it two yards back…still hurts 30 years later!

          • Michael Guarino

Yep. It hurts —but this game is about more than bad calls —-USC is playing with fear and that’ll get you killed every time.

          • marvgoux1

Todd played with courage and they stole it from us.

          • JustOwns

            We’re so sorry Uncle goop.

          • marvgoux1

I heard that today you honored Gary Beban, a man with great talent but not enough to lead fuuucla to a NC.

          • JustOwns

But he got a Heisman, I’m not greedy.

Besides goop, there wasn’t an NCAA sanctioned FB NC in the 20th century.

          • marvgoux1

You admit you are happy with 63 years of futility?

          • JustOwns

Actually, as you know goop, UCLA was VOTED a half a FB NC in 1954.

UCLA does much better winning NC’s in competitive NCAA tournaments.

      • Pac12 fan

Dont think the officiating was the problem. How about you?

  • Arthur Jury

    Notrr dame referee crime syndicate

  • Trojan96

Can anyone on defense make an open field tackle?

    • trojan_1972

      Unfortunately, no.

  • Arthur Jury

    No D sc

  • rusoviet

    What a disaster

    • RegalTrojan

The flood gates are WIDE open!!!

  • AtlDDS

Our defensive backs keep doing 360’s

  • Michael Guarino

Notre Dame is out to humiliate USC —-and our defense is sleep walking. No energy. ONLY chance is offense —and —I hate to say this —Tee’s play calling.

    • steveg

They are killing USC with speed.

      • Michael Guarino

Bad thing, steveg —-they’re not faster. We haven’t got going yet. Can’t understand why team is giving up just cuz we fumbled —lots of football left!

    • AtlDDS

      Then we’re toast

  • Brutus Beefcake

DANG!!! Rudys are pummeling the trOXans with one Power Sweep after ANOTHER!!!

reminds me of the fist Clubber Lang v Ricky fight!!!

    #Prediction:PAAAAAAAAAIN!!!!

  • Ted

What bad officiating!! How come the referee come over and help on that TD pass!!

  • FIGHTONtoVICTORY

    This game is over

    • steveg

Thats what we said last week.

      • FIGHTONtoVICTORY

That bs fumble call turned the momentum. Gonna take more than our receivers running 3 yd routes all night

    • JustOwns

      Do dah, do dah.

  • Ted

Wasn’t Cam Smith suppose to fix the Defense??!! Maybe is was Osa Masina!!

  • USC jojo

It still puzzles me that after seven games, this team does not look prepared Fred.

    • trojan_1972

Completely unprepared. CBs doing pirouettes and making a mediocre QB look great. And for the biggest game of the year.

      • USC jojo

I hear you and it is very frustrating to watch, so far.

    • Fred Sampson

I’m not puzzled, because I always thought, Clay Helton was Steve Sarkisian Jr. minus the Jack Daniels, anyway.

      • Rabb

        Bingo

      • Pac12 fan

Heltons a nice guy . Not sure about preparation in a lot of games he coached. The great talent we recruit has been our salvation. Unfortunately, not sure who we are anymore offensively

        • marvgoux1

SC can overwhelm the weak Pac 12 teams with less talent, when we meet someone equal then the coaching issues come up.

          • JustOwns

Right on the button goop. competition always confuses bozo u – too many cupcakes and not enough Beef.

BTW goop, today UCLA won a FB game.

          • marvgoux1

Alert the media, fuucla won a football game!

          • JustOwns

2017 UCLA has yet to lose by 35 by 35 points.

      • Pac12 fan

I am going to hit the Jack Daniels after watching this half!

        • marvgoux1

          Cab for me.The whole bottle.

      • Lunderful

        Ha!…..good one.

  • Pudly76

Maybe because Rector can’t hold his edge

    • USC jojo

I’m sure he’s been told to make sure the qb hands it off, by holding that edge. Who knows?

      • Pudly76

He’s just blowing it, he’s our outside guy. Him and Uchena on the other side.

      • Pudly76

I think they hit Burnett late after he was down too. Try and get a fair game out of these jerks

        • USC jojo

I thought defensive holding resulted in an automatic first down?

          • Pudly76

            Depends on yardage.

  • Old Trojans never die

So much for live chat I wonder what moron runs the live chat clock?
Anyway pass interference Marshal is out. And the refs are in rare form giving ND the ball on the first play on offense.

  • Michael Guarino

Why wasn’t that first and goal? There was a hold in the end zone?!!

    • Pudly76

This is irish luck. F’ da leprechaun.

  • Pac12 fan

Going to need another Darnold second half performance

  • Trojan96

Fred this isn’t looking too good. O & D line cannot get any penetration. ND can make yards at ease.

  • Trojan96

Why does the defense make a mediocre QB look like a heisman??

  • Trojan96

SC is giving the game away. Mistake after mistake after mistake. Can someone make a play????

    • Rabb

Truly not prepared for this game. Completely being exposed in all three phases of the game.

  • usc fan

    Fire clay helton

  • grave soul

Usc looks pitiful. My analysis and prediction is sounding truer than ever thus far.

Who is #25, the dude that fumbled the punt? Weak

  • Michael Guarino

After the fumbled punt, and a great stop on N. D. quarterback on first down —-USC defense, inexplicably, gave up.

    • trojan_1972

MG – good description. Beyond the first defensive series, and another 2 – 3 plays, it looks like the defensive effort is half-hearted.

      • Michael Guarino

I would never have predicted us to give up this early. We have the players to come back —but we’d need to start playing with passion. Who will lead this team?

        • marvgoux1

          Remember 1974!

          • Michael Guarino

Yes —-McKay gave a half time speech that went, in part: “We’re gonna go back out there and score and score and score.” Who’s in charge of giving that speech today??

          • RegalTrojan

Will Gomer become the 21st century Mckay? Not!!!

          • RegalTrojan

But I don’t see AD in our roster this year. The only ones I see are Gomer and a seriously regressed Darnold Duck!

      • steveg

tackling, staying home and not getting beat to the outside big minus’ for USC

        • Pudly76

          55-24, or bust!

    • RegalTrojan

Know what, MG? I’d rather want to see a blowout than just a defeat in this game to put some real pressure against Helton. I’m afraid his true inability to coach at this level is being revealed for the whole world to see.

      • Michael Guarino

Hate to say it —–but that’s a great point, RT. We might be watching the beginning of the end for this staff.

        • RegalTrojan

I sure hope so, MG. These guys are just not capable to be our coaches. Period.

  • Arthur Jury

Tell me again why defense holding in end zone is not a first down.

    • steveg

You got me. I thought it was 1st and goal, then all of a sudden it is 4th and 2.

      • Pudly76

        Irish rules football.

    • steveg

Not a 1st down in ncaa.

  • timmay

Embrace the medicine. Drink my Trojans, drink. It will flush out the last people who want Clay Helton and eventually bring us relief. Hmmm, good medicine. #SarkKiffinLegacyIsStillPoisoning

  • Pac12 fan

Our problem is this team and media has made this all about Sam Darnold. His turnovers are ridculous

    • Fred Sampson

This team has no direction, or identity

      • Pac12 fan

Who are we? Might should have seen this coming after seeing Utah getting smashed at home. Darnolds turnovers have resulted in points for Irish . We simply have made this team about Darnold rather than the entire team

    • Pudly76

That was no turn over. We go hosed.

  • Rabb

    Where is our running game????

  • usc fan

I think it’s time to bench darnald

  • AtlDDS

Coach Helton will give his boys a stern admonition to not make dumb mistakes at halftime. Then he will give them a fatherly hug. That ought to get it turned around.

    • Michael Guarino

Actually, he’s more likely to tell them they’re playing pretty well…

      • RegalTrojan

        LMAO!!!

      • USC jojo

Just before he hands out his 1st half “Good Try” awards.

        • Michael Guarino

It takes a lot to make me smile right now, but you just scored, USC jojo!

          • marvgoux1

            They call that gallows humor.

          • USC jojo

            Exactly right!

          • USC jojo

I, like you Michael, bleed Cardinal and Gold.
As bad as it looks, the storm will pass and changes will need to be made.

          • Michael Guarino

Thanks, USC jojo!! Needed to hear that!

          • marvgoux1

42-14, we need a 4th quarter miracle like fuu uuucla had against the Aggies.

          • Michael Guarino

            Surely you jest, marv…..

          • marvgoux1

I tried everything to stay positive, but it wasn’t our night for miracles.

          • Michael Guarino

The only miracle we could get today, marv, would not come on a field —-it would come on a tarmac.

          • JustOwns

goop don’t be so hard on yourself. At least you didn’t shoot your beeg mouth off like Stinky B.

According to Stinkster, bozo u FB genius, the Piglet would lead the bozos to:

            12 – 0 season
            Win the Pac-12 Championship
            Win the NC
And, the Piglet wins the 2017 Heisman Trophy.

Choka, choka, choka, choka – somethings don’t change.

            So Stinky goes 0 – 4.

Stinky’s rebuttal: wool Bruin FB SUCC’s

          • JustOwns

You got a miracle goop, the Piglet was benched.

    • RegalTrojan

Yep! That’s all they’ll need to score at least 29 points in a half because ND will do nothing meanwhile. LOL!

      • marvgoux1

This team can do it. We shut down Utah in the 3rd quarter last week.

        • RegalTrojan

          Yeah, I know!

        • JustOwns

Ok goop, the Moron was elected.

          • RegalTrojan

And some are born, like you-know-who. LOL!

          • marvgoux1

Look what just drifted in with the red tide. A f uuclan, giddy about beating Oregon for the first time in a decade.

          • JustOwns

            If you say so goop.

Actually, I’m more giddy that bozo u has been kicked hard in the jewels.

Haven’t heard from 22 tonight. He predicted UCLA would be humiliated and bozo u would mug ND. LOL

            ND TD!!!!!!!

            bozo u 7 – ND 35.

          • marvgoux1

That what is so sad about you fuuclans. You have no team to root for so you just root against us.

          • JustOwns

Not true goop. I root heavily for UCLA. Unfortunately they’re saddled with the half -as*’d HFBC JimboBall.

But I do love it when the bozos loses, especially this game, because bozo u measures its FB program success by defeating ND.

          • marvgoux1

            That’s true.

          • Michael Guarino

            Owns is SO sad…..

        • RegalTrojan

Never been a Gomer believer, never am, and never will be.

          • Michael Guarino

Well, he’s committing professional on national tv. You get one game like this —-and he already had it against Alabama.

          • RegalTrojan

That’s true, MG. This is turning out to be our National Shame Day!

          • Michael Guarino

It’s gonna be SO hard to recruit offa this game. It’s obvious the coaching staff has a definite ceiling. And they’ve reached it.

          • marvgoux1

I’m worried now about next week in Tempe. Will the team quit on Helton?

          • Michael Guarino

There’s a chance of that. Not one game left is anything close to a gimme. Helton has his work cut out for him —is he up to it with this team? They need REAL coaching. I’m not sure what they’re gonna get.

          • USC jojo

That’s where the team quit on kiffin.

          • JustOwns

            I hadn’t thought of that.

    • Pac12 fan

Agreed i think we will close the gap to 14 after his speech by the end of the game

    • Michael Guarino

Let’s look at the Big Picture —–Nobody in their right mind is gonna want to come to USC and be “coached up” by our o-line, defensive back or quarterback coaches. We’re watching more than an epic loss of a rivalry game —we’re watching our recruiting go down the toilet.

    • JustOwns

      What’s your solution….swats.

  • Stephen Randel

21-0 midway in the first half; the chickens are coming home to roost.

    • marvgoux1

      We came back last week.

      • grave soul

Poor Marvy. Still in denial. Go back to heiling your man crush, trump.

        • marvgoux1

Poor loser Hillary worshipping f uuclan who shows up when his team finally beats Oregon after a decade..

          • JustOwns

            Gosh goop that hurts.

bozo u 7 – ND 28. I guess the bozo game plan now is to throw, throw and throw.

          • marvgoux1

Hey it worked for you guys against Texas A&M.

          • JustOwns

Well no wonder, UCLA has a good QB.

        • rusoviet

Poor festive prancer flitting and sniffing and touching as that fr%it0pian major you enrolled there at bel-air tech.

          Leap Brooks….Chet is waiting

          • grave soul

Take a little break from gurgling vodka and apologize to me and to Scott for being correct in that ND would cream usc.

Hello…are you awake…are you awake? How many fingers am I holding up? Hello…

      • Stephen Randel

Yes, but the Trojans played better last week. Tonight? We got a debacle.

  • LAfan

At some point, the players lack of execution comes back to bite them. Coaching is aerially to blame but this team is not very good.

  • Pac12 fan

We are getting manhandled , look unprepared and rattled

  • usc fan

You have a q.b with 4.4 speed. Play him

  • usc fan

It’s all on coaching. Not having player ready to play. Not calling plays that fit your q.b. defense is doing good just worn out cause offense can’t get first downs

    • Pudly76

Stfu, it’s the middle of the game

      • usc fan

It’s been going on all year trust me swann will fire Helton probably at the end of the year

        • AtlDDS

Will nick the Greek and the BOT let him do it?

        • Pudly76

          STFU

            Stfu, again

          • Pudly76

            Worthless troll

  • timmay

High snaps all year. Constant break downs in kicking game, in return game. The QB is regressing and doing too much. The WRs get worse and worse the longer they’re here. Even the QB knows the playcalling is predictable. The secondary is confused on virtually every play. The OL and TEs can’t block, and neither can the backs or receivers. This is the worst coached team I’ve seen in a long time, but hey, since it’s a first time HC, first time OC, a leftover DC from a firing, who could have predicted any of this? :-/

    • usc fan

My point time for Helton to go

    • Pudly76

      Football guru.

  • steveg

USC is the team playing on their heels, not having any idea what to expect next from ND. Coaching inadequacies showing badly and on a lot of plays USC looks like a high school team chasing the bigger faster college team.

  • AtlDDS

    Just pathetic

  • Aloha Trojan

With all due respect, why are so many people here focusing on USC’s lack of preparation? The irish are going off for 13, 15 yards per run. USC, as usual, has turned the ball over 3 times and missed a field goal. And we don’t have our nose tackle. This kind of dog and pony show works just fine against teams like oregon state, but not against teams like this.

    • LAfan

Because then they can focus on coaching rather than execution and performance

      • Pudly76

        Stfu

    • Pudly76

We’re missing so many linemen and they want to make it about the coach they don’t like, not the players who didn’t make the plays

      • Aloha Trojan

        Exactly!

        • Pudly76

This is like nothing I’ve seen. Why the agenda, I don’t know, but I bet most haven’t played a team sport where individual responsibility counts. Jack Jones was catching punts all week, hows that unprepared? I’ll never figure it out.

      • usc fan

Your really saying it’s the lineman issue calm on man. Let me explain something to you. What’s the depth of a piston qb. 4.5 yards from center heels. Sam lined up at 3 yards. That’s why you have a bad snap. Why does he not line up correctly. Coaching. End of class

        • Pudly76

          Yu stupud!

          • usc fan

Say the guy who has never coached a college football game

          • Pudly76

            I played you fool.

          • usc fan

I played and coach college football so who is the fool.

          • Pudly76

            Foolish imp

  • timmay

Darnold officially has happy feet with the pocket collapsing in front of him. He’s like a prized racehorse that’s had his spirit broken. Helton, you sadistic SOB, how could you!?

    • RegalTrojan

Do not feel so sorry for him. He’s still getting millions for the brilliant coaching like this!

    • JustOwns

Easy answer: bozo u didn’t spent enough $$$$$ on recruits.

  • Stephen Randel

For a change of pace, Michigan and Penn State are locked in a good one.

  • Aloha Trojan

USC’s offensive line is a joke.

    • trojan_1972

      Defensive line not much better.

      Total yards – ND – 257, Trojans – 102, including -5 rushing

    • usc fan

16 scholarship olineman lack of having them prepared. Coaching issue

      • timmay

Let the medicine settle in Aloha. It’s difficult for some of us who have strong Trojan Spirit Tolerance. He’ll need an extra dose before he flushes out the toxic attachment to the staff. Drink and rest Aloha, drink and rest.

    • Fred Sampson

I’ve been saying that for five years

  • grave soul

Helton will make for a fine coach at University of Hawaii or UTEP.

  • roky Mtn Mark

Poor coaching exposed again Yes Darnold a turnover factory, but coaching ineptitude clearly missing everywhere else. Special teams especially a total mess. Lack of player execution and discipline a major major shortcoming. Wolfie has been spot on. Deplorable exhibition. Blame the adults, not the student athletes.

    • usc fan

So true. Players are doing what they are told

      • steveg

Dropping punts, running bad routes, playing ole at right tackle, catching a pass and dancing instead of running, not keeping up with a receiver and turning your back to the ball is all coaching? Give me a break. USC looks like boys trying to play with men.

        • marvgoux1

Whta happened to the great special teams coach? He couldn’t find one of our 4-5 star recruited WR or DB on the roster and teach him basic punt catching and running techiques?

  • Aloha Trojan

I don’t care Marshall’s out of the game because he’s an overrated player and hurts us more than helps. But at this point they should consider getting some of the other starters out before anyone else gets hurt otherwise we’re going to have a very tough time beating ASU. And if we lose next week, season over.

  • Michael Guarino

This looks like Alabama again. Team not ready to play smash mouth. Helton looking like the extra in a Star Trek movie who gets killed in the first scene.

    • RegalTrojan

Do you see what I see, MG? A deer in the headlights?

      • Michael Guarino

I don’t care about winning right now, RT. I just wanna see us fight back —-not go down without a fight!
Make the Irish feel like they’ve been in a game!

        • RegalTrojan

It’d be nice to see it, but even that may be too much to ask in this lopsided game. It’s plain ugly so far!

    • USC jojo

This team is not built to play smash mouth. And I’m afraid this staff does not have that type of mentality.

    • marvgoux1

      • Brutus Beefcake

maybe SC can bring in OJ to give a pep talk to team at halftime….

        “lets tear ’em apart!!”
        (gasps)

        • JustOwns

That might work at a bozo u endowment fund raiser. Since OJ is a celebrity, Slapsy Maxie could charge a steep price admission.

  • timmay

Who do you guys want? I’m still a Petrino man myself but there are some good prospects out there.

    • steveg

      timmay, slow down

      • timmay

Many more games to lose til you hit bottom. More wins eeked out vs unranked teams, a squeaker vs Western Michigan, and you’ll hold on. Those losses to the P12 cellar dwellers will be “tricky” and “trap games”. It’s not your fault Repeat it with me, it’s not your fault.

    • RegalTrojan

I’m afraid Gomer will survive until the next season with a few new assistants. He ain’t going anywhere soon. Unfortunately.

  • Rabb

Recruits are gonna change their mind with this coaching staff. Get ready!!!!

    • Traveler

Get ready for Southern Cal to turn, literally, into southern CAL.

  • Stephen Randel

Losing a hard fought, well played game is one matter; getting outplayed,out- coached and embarrassed is another matter.

  • Pac12 fan

If i hear the injury excuse i think i will throw up. Every team has that problem by this time of year! And thats not the problem .

  • Pac12 fan

I just hope Helton doesnt say after this game that our goal of winning a Pac12 championship is still alive. We had much greater expectations after last years Rose Bowl

  • Rick S.

Man I am Clay Helton’s biggest fan, but if You keep on Riding Darnold then You are “not” equipped to Head Coach the USC Trojans !!!!!!!!!!!

Ronald Jones would be better Quarterback at this point !

SAM DARNOLD DOES NOT HAVE IT !!! !!! !!!

    Clancy, GREAT JOB TRYING !

IT IS “AMAZING” THAT IT’S “ONLY” 28 to NOTHING ?

    Jack Jones, a “Heisman” ??????

    WHAT-A-JOKE !

    • Aloha Trojan

You are fantastic with the “quotes!”

      “Great job!”

    • Old Trojans never die

No longer Darnold his name should be Damnold

    • Pudly76

Coaches should’ve showed him how to catch a ball since Thursday, again.

  • Aloha Trojan

Is anyone seriously gonna watch the 2nd half? Or is it too much of a train wreck to turn away?

    • marvgoux1

      Remember 1974. 55 unanswered points. It’s possible.

      • AtlDDS

Not on this team with this offensive coordinator. Coach Wunderlic 11

      • Pudly76

        I was there.

  • Golden Trojan

ND has opened an extra large can of whoop a#s! Good old fashioned beat down. Will need a phenomenal come back. Look to see Fink in their soon. Maybe our new QB. Would like to be a fly on the wall in Lynn Swann’s office when he meets with Helton.

    • Aloha Trojan

Absolutely give Fink a try. Let him run.

      • Rick S.

        YESSSSSSSS !

    • Rick S.

“Look to see Fink in their soon” ?

HOW ABOUT TO “START” THE [ 2nd HALF ] ?????

At least the “possibility” exists that the Trojans could “SCORE” !!!!!!!!!!!!

      A / “1” – POINT ? !!!

      • Golden Trojan

Absolutely, start him Darnold is exposed.

        • JustOwns

It’s seems as if the Piglet has been knocked off his balsa wood pedestal

  • Traveler

Looks like Gomer & Co. done run clean outta’ Lucky Charms. Will he be fired at the airport tonight…assuming “swannee” has balls….and there’s an airport in South Bent?

    • Pudly76

Funny you don’t know where nd is?

      • RegalTrojan

It’s OK. There always are buses in which it can take place. LOL!

Good for you, partner. After all, he must be pretty heavy. LOL!

      “LD” ?

      !

      Pencil …. !!!

      • Traveler

Put down the bottle and get someone to translate that into English.

        Thanks.

  • schammer47

Sam Darnold has regressed so much that he is a Cody Kessler clone, fearful of a breakdown in pass blocking, deer in headlights, wanting a wide open receiver. Confidence in himself and his team. gone. Sam, your offensive line is giving you excellent protection against Notre Dame. No reason to be worried.

    • Pudly76

Agreed he’s had time, still missed open receivers

    • timmay

The protection has been atrocious and when ND backed up in coverage there is zero people open. And what’s with the errant snaps? Darnold is simply one more piece of a team being ran into the ground by Gomer.

  • rusoviet

Well as bad as notre dame was last year Kelly went out and replaced his assistants because the Irish are not beating the tar out of USC because of Brian Kelly.

Helton assembled this staff – does anyone seriously believe he can find the right assistants? If this continues it’s dead man walking

    • RegalTrojan

Yeah, but I wouldn’t put Kelly in the same coaching league as Helton. He was a much more proven one coming in and he always had a reputation for being a quality coach. I really don’t think getting a few new assistants will fundamentally change this team. The issues are much deeper than that, and they all stem from Helton’s inabilities.

      • USC jojo

Good coaches come with dog houses. Helton has no dog house.

        • RegalTrojan

I mean, lets’ be honest. What kind of really capable dogs would join his team when the dog master is so f’g soft like him?

        • Michael Guarino

He’s gonna be placed in a different kind of house —-the kind made of bricks.

      • rusoviet

That’s true but it is his assistants that have turned the Irish around not Kelly

        • RegalTrojan

Again, Helton’s no Kelly, and I don’t think he’s capable of hiring quality assistants like him.

          • Linkster

Helton is a complete no body. No consequences for mistakes. Too nice guy. Players coaches still have to kick butt when then go off kilter. Helton can’t manage that.

          • JustOwns

What mucho bozo Rah-Rah pendejo said:

“USC 24 – ND 21… defense plays well, offense just well enough; Jones has a 100+ game and Darnold shines. The blogger is wrong again, USC moves ut to #7…”

  • Traveler

Welcome back to “Hackett Ball”… alas, when I see Gomer’s facial expressions and watch the catastrophe on the field that HE OWNS, my mind sinks into a pit of despair unknown since the Paul Hackett days….

    • trojan_1972

Well that does it, time for another drink

  • steveg

USC -4 yards rushing 1st half.

    • Pudly76

Terrible. And the defense is hung out to dry.

  • RegalTrojan

My TV is on, but I’m not even watching the game attentively right now. Guess it says something about how it’s been going. Hey, there’s a bright side to this, This isn’t as stressful as watching all the lousy games they played in their ugly wins so far in the season. Funny!

    • Traveler

Yea, in a very strange way it’s a relief. Relief that you can finally accept SC football this year as a pathetic version of what it could and should be.

      • RegalTrojan

That’s exactly how I feel as well!

        • Linkster

I knew this was going to happen. for the first time this year I had a cocktail in my hand and said let it play out and it did.

          • JustOwns

BS, you lying sack of bozo sh*t.

Didn’t you predict bozo u 24 – ND 21? And Ronnie Jones would gain “100+” (Jones gained 32 yds on 12 attempts.)

Oh wait, didn’t you also predict “Darnold shines.”?

  • steveg

Read Asshat Wolfs comments in chat, what a complete jerk off

  • RegalTrojan

    GOMER FOR PRESIDENT!!!

  • trojan_1972

This is not looking any better with that extra cocktail

    Rushing yards: 257 versus 21

    • marvgoux1

Rasheem’s injury must be really hobbling him.

      • trojan_1972

that scramble by Darnold just doubled the Trojans rushing yardage

  • steveg

I feel sorry for Swann. He had to inherit this program, kind of like Trump inherits Obamas mess.

    • JustOwns

      Whine on loser.

      • Linkster

        it is all Bush’s fault.

  • usc fan

Time to start playing backups. Just saying. Otherwise kelly won’t stop he trying to save his own job too

    • Lunderful

Sam is inconsequential, so why not play Matt Fink. An honest viewer knows the game is out of hand…..no hope.

      • usc fan

I agree playing fink is ideal figuring he will be the starter next year. Get him experience would be nice

  • steveg

Wolf is such an @sshole. Right here, every turd gets lucky once.

    • JustOwns

You’re the one prognosticating a bozo u victory.

      What a rah-Rah chump.

      • Linkster

        talking about chumps…

        • JustOwns

USC 24 – ND 21……you’re the chump expert.

  • Lunderful

Sam may get picked in the first round of the NFL draft, but he is not ready. He doesn’t show consistency at the college level, so how can he win at the pro level? To say that he is a fumble machine and rough around the edges is to be very diplomatic.

    • Trojan Dynasty

I don’t think it matters who will come in as QB in this team. It’s just not a fundamentally well-coached team. This staff must be replaced for SC to be where it wants to be.

    • Linkster

Sam ain’t going anywhere in January except to class.

  • timmay

Funny thing is, with different coaching and a little work this team could be a NC contender. The blown pass coverages, the bad snap, the bungled kick off return, the misses at linebacker to stuff gaps or string out the runs, the confusion in blocking on roll outs, even with the double tight end set the TEs didn’t know who they were supposed to block… It sounds daunting but these things are extremely fixable by a good coaching staff.

    • rusoviet

Those two palookas on the Irish left side are the reason we’re getting canned on defense – constantly blowing out any defensive rush

      • timmay

Definitely. Yet those aren’t five yard rushes, they are big gashes right? The run support of the linebackers is off. Rector was doing a good job but he’s by himself, the other LBs are confused- ND went side to side then up the middle. That can be fixed at some point. This is a very badly coached team.

        • rusoviet

That’s exactly right – Helton is one thing but the assistants he’s chosen are a farce. This is all on him and I’d say he’s going to be someplace else come January 2018

    • marvgoux1

      We have the talent…

      • JustOwns

Oh no, the Piglet is limping. No wonder the bozos are losing.

        Oh no, another ND TD.

        So bozo u 14 – ND 49.

        • marvgoux1

They should take him out so he will be healthy for the fuu ucla game.

          • JustOwns

Be careful what you wish for goop.

      • USC jojo

Look what Tim Drevno did, that one year he coached the offensive line. He had three freshman playing on that line.

Look what Harbaugh did at Stanford and at Michigan, who was 6-7 a year before he took them to a 10-2 record.

These guys, and many others coaches know what they want and change the culture to fit their goals.

But, what the hell do I know.

        • marvgoux1

Harbaugh was a miracle worker, Stanford had sucked since Bunce and Plunkett. He won that game when we were 41 point favorites with nothing.

      • marvgoux1

Maybe Helton better read USC Morning Buzz.

    • AtlDDS

Absolutely this group is undercoached and doesn’t fear the the staff. Would Coach Saban let these kind of mistakes happen without the players knowing they were in the doghouse?

  • Fred

Good thing that Pat Haden gave that nice extension to Clay.

  • usc fan

Did anybody notice how far nd played off the minute fink went in. He is a true q.b for the style of plays being called. Also notice how fast sam got healthy. Maybe cause he knows fink is on his heels. Just a thought

  • Michael Guarino

Flea Flicker in a rout? In the 4th quarter? Notre Dame is treating Helton like the worst kind of chump.

    • RegalTrojan

That’s a sign of a “classy” coach, MB.

    • marvgoux1

      What’s Kelly’s deal?

  • trojan_1972

Looking forward to Trojans crushing Domers next year in LA with a new coaching staff.

    • RegalTrojan

That’d be nice, but may not be happening as SC might sign Gomer for life tomorrow. LOL!

  • rusoviet

Have to admit – this is not what I expected but my gosh this is a total collapse and it’s all Helton’s 100% his.

  • marvgoux1

    Penn State routing Michigan.

    • timmay

He improved the offensive line but he has no QB, hasn’t developed WRs, just the same as at Stanford except he doesn’t have Mason who was a danged good defensive coordinator. Harbaugh did well when he wasn’t facing a bunch of teams that played power football too. His DC Don Brown is probably gonna get fired before the year ends.

  • Avoid the Tarmac

Mr. Wolfman. Your boi Grimes is in the game. How about that… I feel a comeback with him in the game #52-49

  • usc fan

I think it’s the end of the Helton era. If sam is smart I would take the asu week off. Milk the rest if year go to draft. Otherwise fink will take his job next year

    • timmay

Fink can’t hit the broad side of the barn and has no pocket awareness. And if he had to run week to week we might as well join the MAC because that’s the only way he’s not going to get knocked out or beat anyone consistently with his feet By the way, he got one of those bobbles in our adventures in snapping the football too.

      • usc fan

And sam can hit that same barn calm on. Fink is the future maybe you should visit his hs hudl the guy cab throw just fine better than darnald and all the player know that. They play harder for him.

  • timmay

USC has been playing Big 12 football. Playing power football with a passing attack is still the formula. The P12 lets us forget that. Really Darnold’s scrambling and our talent made us forget that we weren’t even that good fundamentally a finesse team. That and poor coaching in general is a legacy of Sarkiffin. It will be interesting to see what’s next when next comes. Swann and company get to look at this and have real clarity about what’s went wrong.

    • Stephen Randel

Yep. I just hope that the next man up won’t have to learn how to be a head coach on the job.

I wonder who swann has in his back pocket to take over at hc. Cause he looks like he has a plan and it’s not Helton.

    • rusoviet

      You think? Helton’s gone

  • rusoviet

Another mess Haden left USC with – the sports program that defines the school and he ‘had a hunch’ and chose Sarkisian.

This is Helton’s – he was given a job he had no business ever dreaming of being chosen for – this is even more all Haden’s

    How long does Helton stay?

    • Aloha Trojan

I always thought Haden was a notre dame fan, still do

      • rusoviet

He sure seemed fixated on it when Nikias gave him ‘carte blanche’ on his assuming the AD from Garrett.

Never ever any blowback about Haden’s plundering the Mayr Foundation. Note the (imes going after the medical school provost and the other bum who replaced him but never a word about Haden.

No instead we got that short note in the (imes that he was no longer ‘officially’ employed by the unversity. Nothing sticks to Pat – he just gets to keep re-designing the Coliseum in his vision.

  • Aloha Trojan

You’d expect a better effort against your rival. Pathetic in every way.

  • usc fan

I have heard rumors that Helton is no longer respected by most of his players. Also heard swann has an eye on a NFL coach. I been told it’s an OC. Anybody habe any ideas who it may be

Honestly, this loss is unacceptable. Not all losses are equal. This was a colossal failure. When the fire-Helton chant was gaining steam after the WSU, I said they couldn’t fire him after just one loss. Now with this loss, I’m not so sure. He would have to run the table to keep his job. Will we or should we accept a 3 loss team? with Darnold the QB?
