USC-ASU Expected To Be Sellout

The USC-Arizona State game is expected to be a sellout. Who would predict that a month ago? A sellout creates a whole different atmosphere at Sun Devil Stadium.

That wouldn’t really matter before USC lost to Notre Dame. But that game was so bad, every little factor seems to matter more now.

I have tickets, leaving Wed. morning. Looking forward to the game, but not having any expectations this week.

    • Gabby

      I’m envious……have a safe trip

      • steveg

Family bought the tickets and staying at their house, cheap trip.

    • RegalTrojan

Gotta tell you to be prepared for some unpleasantness there. ASU ain’t no cupcake.

  • CORTEZ THE KILLER

Probably a late game, full house drunk as a skunk, loud, Gomer is in trouble.

    • Gabby

Helton might pull a rabbit out of his hat

      • Goatboy Kiffin

You mean Darnold … has there ever been a less influential coach on the sidelines than Gomer … ok Sark

      • Traveler

        He couldn’t pull a gerbil outta his….

    • RegalTrojan

Hey now! It looks like your popularity is in an inverse relationship with Helton’s! Never seen you this popular! LOL!

  • Burak Uslu

    *Sellout = Soldout

  • Gabby

Sorry to trash your narrative but a month ago we all predicted a sell-out

    • Traveler

      So what?

      • Jack B

        Really?

SW claims nobody would have predicted a USC/ASU sellout a month ago in Tempe. The truth is, we all predicted it. Duh.

        • fast fred

Just like the nc and Heisman???

          • Jack B

Anyone who thought USC was better than ALA or CLEM in the pre-season had a screw loose, which undoubtedly includes you Fast Freddie.

USC has so many Heismans already, another one isn’t really needed right now. Rosen’s the one who needed a Heisman for you little gutties but he’s already tossed that pipe dream in the gutter.

    • gotroy22

You really thought it would be a sell out if ASU has lost to Washington and Utah as everyone expected and ASU was mired in the cellar with the ruins?

      • Gabby

Pure sarcasm…..Does a rhetorical question coming from wolf deserve a reasonable response.

No USC fan would give a S**T about the crowd size of a road game a month away. Smaller the better

  • Pac12 fan

Tough game for the Trojans. Arz st has looked really good the last two weeks.

    • Jack B

You little gutties have absolutely no shot against UW, I can’t wait to see how bad you flop all over the place in Seattle. Har, har, har.

      • RegalTrojan

        LMAO!!!

      • Pac12 fan

We will see. But truth be known my son graduated from UW

        • Gabby

A couple of my football buddies went to UW. Mark Brunell and Napoleon Kaufman. Back in the early 90’s I went to a few games at Husky stadium. The crowd and stadium were great, but the weather was a different story

        • Jethro G Sabbath

          Okay then. That settles it!

      • RegalTrojan

Yeah, the little gutties are godaweful this season just like most other seasons. We may be struggling, but thank the Greek gods, we gotta be at least better than them like most other seasons. LOL!

        • Jack B

Playing ucla in football is like meeting a slump buster at midnight.

          • RegalTrojan

In all honesty, playing sucla is like an annual degrading experience. SC is clearly way too REGAL to play them.

          • gotroy22

One more good reason for SC to go independent in football.

          • fast fred

You tried that once before–how did that turn out??

      • fast fred

Deflection time again and again and again—you get the picture! However in JB’s defense, who would want to talk about this Trojan team in any positive way, unless it was in the pre-season when he was drinking the sauce delivered by the media!

        • Jack B

Who’s deflecting Fast Freddie? USC’s not a top 20 team and ucla’s not even a top 40-50 team. We’re not what we had hoped to be, but ucla has turned out even worse that we Trojans could have ever dreamed.

Get ready for your big Nov. 18 beat down. Is that too “deflecting” for you Freddie? I’m sure it is. Hah, hah, hah.

  • Arizona St does not have a running quarterback like ND’s. So I expect a better defensive performance, and for sure Darnold will be better as well.

Still, it look as if this game is too close to call.

    • CORTEZ THE KILLER

      Ok Helen

      • Gabby

Leave Helen out of it. I had a lot of respect for him/her….lol!.

        • Trojan Dynasty

I’m sure you got tremendous respect for Debbie Downer as well. LOL

          • Gabby

            I don’t see the correlation

      • RegalTrojan

        Nice!

    • Traveler

Think of SC as a 4-4 team, as they should be, and this game isn’t too close to call at all. Expect Helton & Boys to befuddle their way through 4 quarters. Expect the team to be confounded and confused. Expect a lousy loss for Troy.

    • fast fred

You don’t change the spots on leopards!

  • usc fan

I hate to say this but asu gonna cause a lot of match up problems for usc. I think if Sam fumbles or throw an int usc looses. If he has a clean game they win. I hope the trojans wim but I think we are in trouble. Just being honest

    • Traveler

      ASU 21 – USC 17

      • 04Trojan

        I sure hope not.

        • RegalTrojan

i actually think that’s rosy considering how miserably the team played against ND. LOL!

          • 04Trojan

The notre dame game was a complete joke.

          • RegalTrojan

And Gomer may be that, too. The team’s not even tackling during practice. No wonder some call him Hugs Helton. Not good!

          • Jack B

Clay Helton acts like we just lost because of a bad start and bad luck. He’s not able to face reality yet, probably due to the severe trauma inflicted on his pride and conscience.

          • fast fred

            Where were you pre season?

          • Jack B

Like 95% of the free world, I thought USC would be better than it is. Try not to be such a dumb little gutty Fast Freddie. USC is still good enough to hammer little ucla, which we will do on Nov 18. Even you know this.

      • usc fan

        I’m think more like 48 -10

      • usc fan

        Asu wins

  • JustOwns

What has happen to Beiku, the guy the Toejams flipped from UCLA?

    • RegalTrojan

Obviously not playing for Chimp. LOL!

    • gotroy22

      sas would know.

  • 04Trojan

Said it before and I’ll say it again:

We are in desperate need of another Stanford-esque performance this weekend.

  • Sebastian Lane

Hey, did anybody read what Kiper and McShay said about ND? Three NFL O-linemen, including two fifth year seniors, and 4 senior starters. Bad matchup for a banged up D-line. Both also called ND the best one loss team in America. Time to stop focusing on the negatives and move on.

Penn State lost to Michigan 49-10 last year and went to the Rose Bowl. Keep the faith….

    • Golden Trojan

Exactly, move on to the next game. Win out SC goes to the CCG. Win the CCG on to Fiesta Bowl. I’ll take that.

  • Golden Trojan

This game and maybe the next are for the South Division. Why wouldn’t it be a sellout? Will SC sell out the Coli next week if they win Saturday?

  • Young Lee

From now, USC Trojans shouldn’t loose even one game.

    • Golden Trojan

They have to bring it in Tempe!

  • David Keeling

Not feeling good about this game at all, especially with an ASU sold-out stadium. Congratulations Clay Helton. You are now packing all the stadiums but your home stadium.

  • Lunderful

Has Helton lost the locker room, yet? Bellowing voice + insipid message = turnoff.

  • Pete

Michael Pittman Sr. Was on Twitter and he’s not happy the way the staff has handled his kid. Tip of the Iceberg?

    • gotroy22

      Ruh roh…

  • Pete Smith

Well i am hopping that the USC fan base will go to the game and support the team. We need to show that we are still with them. Its very hard to make a improvement when your fan base shrinks. GET BEHIND THE TEAM FIGHT ON

    • fast fred

You really do not know your fan base very well—how about all the booing the team off the field at half time—sounds like a pro game–wait, the Trojans are pros!

  • B.Miller

It will be as predictable as every other game.. ASU will run the ball until USC forces the to do otherwise.. Which they have not been able to do all year. USC is 78th in rush defense!
Offense will be predictable, USC will go down by some touchdowns.. Lack of defense physicality, and injuries will be the down fall

  • StokaNoka

Last post was deleted… hmmm… all I said was position coaches need to kick some Oline tail in practice this week. Nobody on the other side is worried about them. We playin too soft in the trenches.

  • Scottsdale Trojan

ASU 2/3rds finished with stadium renovation that has reduced capacity from 72k to 56k. Easier to sellout now. ASU started off the year weak with close losses to SDSU, Texas Tech and Stanford but has beaten Oregon, Washington, Utah all with ease. This is their homecoming game and the fans will be fired up by 745p kickoff. They have some key players just back from injury. They were picked to finish 5th place in PAC-12 South pre-season but are on a roll. We could not face them at a worse time. As a Trojan living here for 15 years this one feels like a set-up. Trojans will need flawless game to win. Fight On!

  • hoohoolianFUCLA

Of course it’s a sell-out. How often does ASU have a legitimate shot at beating us? they all want to be there for that.
