USC Gets Basketball Commitment

No, really, USC did get a basketball commitment. Elijah Weaver, a 6-4 four-star shooting guard from Oldsmar, Fla., committed today. He is ranked No. 35 in the nation by Rivals.com.

With USC under a federal investigation, verbal commitments are shakier than ever, obviously.

Reign of Troy saying Darnold staying at SC next season.
    Comon SW!

    • marvgoux1

Sam Darnold said on the record he is coming back?

      • Subject to change, and what the NFL says his draft position is.

But really, the kid needs more seasoning.

        • JustOwns

Wait a minute Walnut, Stinky B, bozo u FB genius, stated unequivocally that the Piglet would win the this year’s Heisman T., is better than JR and definitely NFL ready.

            True! True! & True!

          • JustOwns

Hey Sammy, what’s happened to Beiku, the guy you were so happy bozo u flipped from UCLA.

          • Sas

Didnt you say Ucla has a great number of NIgerian students and he wasnt going anywhere? Yes. The answer is yes.

          • Brutus Beefcake

            “just getting started”???

my advice: attend as many games as you can before the following investigations are completed: SC, Pac 12, NCAA.

also, lets see if Tony Bland flips or takes a 30 yrs sentence.

          • Sas

Thats a lot of gasoline you keep pouring on. im not worried. but you are clearly feeling Andy Enfield taking some of that ‘Basketball Program’ from Alford.

        • marvgoux1

So fake news from Reign of Troy?

    • j metaphor

      Yes,
I believe he mentioned something about “unfinished business”
      I love that line.

  • Yale O. Leftwich

I have not read USC has been informed they are under investigation by anyone. I did read some people who coach at different schools are, and one at SC is.

    • Pac12 fan

There asst coach is by the FBI. Thats more serious than the NCAA

    • Bernie

USC had to turn over records to the FBI

    • j metaphor

Yeah, you’re right Lefty, nothing to worry about here, just had an assistant coach arrested by the FBI after an extensive sting operation and now they are going up the line (it’s the FB freaking I ) but don’t worry about a thing because they haven’t “informed” the school.
      Jeez what a dolt.

      • Sas

J, go have a coke and a smile and enjoy the little Win over Oregon. Be proud for finally beating them for the first time since how long? You Bruins….For some crazy reason…….seem to believe that Oregon is tough like all the othe Duck teams that put Nike swooshes on ruin face mask for so many years. “Even the sun shines on a dogs a** some days”

        • fast fred

I most of the time enjoy your posts—but now you sound like JB with the Bruin rant.

  • Pac12 fan

Why? Kind of like Kobi Simmons going to Arizona. Never been there but the moneys too good

  • 04Trojan

We are in desperate need of another Stanford-esque performance this weekend.

  • English 101

Instead of reporting the positive aspect of the verbal commitment, you go right for the negative. It’s not a surprise that all of the coaches and the entire athletic department won’t give you the time of day.

    • marvgoux1

Yet he was completely right about USC losing big to the Irish. Maybe the coaches and the entire athletic department should wise up and listen to criticism.

      • schammer47

marv, Have you lost your mind ? USC can and will beat ASU if we get a healthy Fatu and Edoga back on the field.

        • marvgoux1

Sure we can. That has nothing to do with us not beating ND and making the national championship playoff though. This team had high goals and now the season is over. We are playing for crumbs now while Alabama and Penn State sit at the table.

      • JustOwns

Whoa, goop blows the whistle on the Rah – Rah’s.

      • Sebastian Lane

Who? Did he predict a 35 point blowout? He’s consistently negative. When he’s wrong, he’s quiet. Remember how he blasted the program for taking in the nose guard from Utah? That guy turned into a gem. Or blasting the kicking game all spring? At some point even a broken clock is correct. No bid.

        • marvgoux1

He predicted a big loss. And he was right about Kiffin and Sark the drunk.

  • Sebastian Lane

USC is under investigation for what? Can someone confirm the school itself is under investigation? Or is this just shoddy journalism? We are aware of a coach getting in trouble, but the school? Please confirm? Thanks

    • Brutus Beefcake

take a KNEE, wolfman, i GOT THIS!!!

Mr. Lane, the FBI concluded their investigation into widespread corruption and their findings led to Federal Corruption Charges against the parties, including Tony Bland.

IN ADDITION, SC has their OWN investigation ongoing for which they hired Louis Freeh.

IN ADDITION, the Pac 12 named their own committee to investigate the charges, led by the most esteemed AD in the country, Dapper Dan Guererro.

and of course last but not least the NCAA itself will conduct an investigation and slam SC with sanctions, up to and including demolition of the mens basketball program….recall this is the same school that just got over sanction for giving cash stuffed envelopes to OJ Mayo…now they have done the same thing on a wider scale!!

      #NoBueno

      #Uh-OhSpaghetti-O!!

      • Sebastian Lane

Investigating whom? Has the University been charged with any wrongdoing? The PAC and NCAA are looking into the actions of these assistant coaches for sure, but is the school? I would think every big time hoops program is re-evaluating it’s program and procedures now. Brand has been charged. Has the school been charged with any wrongdoing?

        • Brutus Beefcake

you seem to be hanging your hopes on the possibility the NCAA etc will say, well, Bland is dirty, but since Enfield is not implicated, SC walks away unscathed!!!

Don’t work that way, Bunky. University is liable for conduct of employees. Enfield SHOULD have known (and probably did).

    Committed to SoCal Basketball ?
The deaf, dumb and blind boy sure plays a mean B Ball.

    • Brutus Beefcake

i’m sending this kid some Blockbuster Video coupons.

  • GreenFox

A fantastic commitment! Maybe they can get J’Raan Brooks back. Solid class nonetheless

    • Sas

They very well could. The was thought with Brooks, and tough without him. I’m sure they have targets they are trying to steal out from under someone. At least I hope either way this class is gonna end up a good bunch.
