USC Uniform Check

Who knows what was going on in the final regular-season game from a uniform perspective. Some players wore white socks; some wore cardinal tights and some wore that thing that looks like a cardinal sock/tight/sleeve. As long as the players are happy.

    • It’s just a reflection on the lack of discipline from Gomer. Socks, penalties, me first attitude, it all comes from Gomer being a pushover and not being tough on them

      • Rose Bowl win last season.

        Having a down year but……..
In the Pac 12 Championship game with a Chance at the Fiesta Bowl

        What else you got?????????????????

        Think hard.

          • Couldn’t agree more. I hope we’re setting aside our savings for when Helton is fired and we can get a nationally recognized name with a proven track record of success at the major college football level.

          • I like Helton. The man. But I wouldn’t hate it if we lost both remaining games and we went shopping.

          • how pissed will we be when we miss out on Chip Kelly again … very pissed when Gomer goes 4-8 A.D. ( after Darnold)

          • I think he’ll have some success if he gets a real DC and OL coach.
He should let Ken Norton run his Defense, pay him whatever we can. At least send a subliminal (BKU can call him) message to him and see if if he’s interested.

      • I might have a heart attack if Chuma or Jack Jack get another personal found penalty this year.

          • You tell me Sam. Who takes a job when you fire the guy that went 24-2? And he’s still got that in front of him. You remember when they hired PC, they couldn’t find any body to take the job, PC was a last resort. People were screaming then that he was a hack retread.
I’m not trying to defend any coach or coaches but there are a lot of people fooling themselves here.

            Again, who you got?

          • I’m tongue tied. You really have a good point. But……in my own personal opinion…..i say keep Helton but tell him he has to make some moves within his coaching staff.

            Is John Harbaugh available?

  1. The uniforms were pristine after the UCLA game. At least we’ll save on cleaning this week. Even the marching band had dirtier uniforms on after that game. And boy, didn’t the end zones look nice after the game ended ? It was like no one even walked in them during the game.

  2. I said the exact same thing during warmups. There is a reason why it’s called a uniform. Everyone is supposed to wear the exact same gear. This is what happens when you have a coach who is everyone’s buddy. You don’t see this crap happening at Bama.

    • Well I guess base on your summation 12 teams had better discipline and dressed more uniformly. But 10 of the the 12 couldn’t beat us even though they had all that discipline and uniformity.

      • I like the greek pattern on the collar. I was hoping they would put that for the stripe on the pants as well. Maybe the side of the jersey too.

  3. Scooter, you finally got one right. Helton allowed this, the undiscipline look which goes into the game itself. When Mckay and Robinson coached, the players had all black cleats and white socks. Everyone wore the same type of shoe and the same type of sock. Helton needs to pay attention to every detail. Else, it will bite him in the rear end.

  4. …had anyone seen the videos of the former UCLA players that played for Coach Wooden and how he taught them the correct way to tie their shoes…hmmmm…the delightful Mr Wolf is right again…this team under preformed PERIOD…and as Che Guevara once said- the devil is in the details…or something…just sayn 🙂

  5. So some players wearing gloves but others don’t means no discipline. Really, wow, now we are going to uniforms to bang Helton. What’s next? How bout he doesn’t check to make sure everyone has brushed their teeth. No wait, no synchronism when coming on to the field. Some players drink water during timeouts but others don’t, or how bout…………

    • As Pac12 fan posts, trivial concept but it shows a character trait, ‘not paying attention to details’ and that bleeds into everything in an organization. As the head coach is, as the players are.

      • That’s the 60’s and 70’s. We’re dealing with millennials. I’m not saying your not right but be practical. We can’t even get some to stand for the National Anthem for sh** sake.

  6. Wolfie now whining about uniform uniformity ( tongue twister there.) . How about a cup check Scott ? Never ends with you, Debbie Downer.

  7. I was waiting to see what pathetic school would try to copy Miami’s Turnover Chain first. My Oregon guess turned out to be right.

  8. The blogger uses uniforms to knock Coach Helton (as usual). Meanwhile uni-watch dot com, the premier opinion on all athletic uniform wear, and the ESPN uniform related writer thinks the USC ucla game was the most beautiful uniform game of the year…

“Ah…USC vs. UCLA — always the best looking game of the year. And yesterday didn’t disappoint. In fact, I happen to think this game looked better than the past …” “1) UCLA at Southern Cal — The best looking game of the season to date. No other explanation needed.”

So negative blogger why are you nit picking when the country’s best uniform expert is not ??? Negative nelly much ???

  9. THAT’S IT! It was the socks! I knew there was something that caused USC to play like the didn’t want to be there! If only Scott Wolf was the equipment manager…

  10. You guys are 10-2, playing in the conference title game and complaining about socks. I just want a dang coach.

I’d let the Bruins play in rainbow stripe tube socks if we could go 10-2.
