Western Michigan Update

Toledo defeated Western Michigan, 37-10, today. The Broncos are 6-6. Again, where are the USC fans who told me Western Michigan would go 11-1 after losing to USC?

      • I can’t believe he still hangs around, one of the most disliked to ever come on here. Glad I blocked him.

        • I don’t block anyone although I get blocked quite a bit. It’s obvious by his “mistruths” and bending of the truth (to put it kindly) that he has no interest in the success of our program. So when he falsely states facts I like to try and correct them. There are many and varied opinions here that are truly meant to further discussion, then there’s this TROLL.

          • You need to learn to shed those blocks and put a helmet on the ball carrier.

Sorry, put a SHOULDER PAD on the ball carrier (don’t want you called for targeting!)

          • Targeting is what it is and that’s what it should be called. I don’t give a hoot… crown of the helmet straight to the solar plexus!

  1. I don’t recall anyone saying they would go 11-1 this year. Many stated correctly they were 11-1 last year. The state of journalism in this country is going the way of the circus…extinct.

    • Plenty of people said that after we squeaked by them. Most who said “a win is a win” included the 11-1 prediction.

That was 1 excuse and the other was (and apparently still is, according to scammer47) that we were testing lots of players to see who will be our real starters.

  2. The only person in America paying attention to WMU. Meanwhile Miami just got dominated by Pitt who played their 3rd string, true freshman QB.

    • Ironically, PITT was lucky Max Browne got injured. He sure had a brutally disappointing career.

Just goes to show. Those 5-star prep rankings don’t mean diddly too much of the time.

      • It was revealing that Max couldn’t come in and compete against Kody (Godblesshim) Kessler. As much as I’ll always love what Kody did for us through trying times, a true five star would’ve soundly beaten him out.

      • Max seems like a great teammate and solid dude but I don’t think there’s any debate regarding his QB play. The guys is sub-par at best. Can’t read a defense/make quick decision and isn’t mobile.

      • I agree Jack, I like those 3 star kids that bust their butt to become better than the prima donas that rest on their high school laurels.

        • Hard to believe that Clay Matthews had to walk on at USC. That was a real head scratcher, but he was true late bloomer. He was really only good on USC special teams for a long time as well. In his last year, he kinda took off on a loaded team.

So much goes into being an elite college football player.

  3. Who thought W MICH was ever gonna go 11-1? Nobody.

I was at the game and USC looked horrible, W MICH looked like they gave it their all, shot their wad, but still never really looked like they were remotely capable of winning.

Another end of a non-story made into a mountain by SW.

  4. SW, Surely there are other stories out there besides the quality of Western Michigan and the mythical state football championship…what about updates on Trojan injuries? Recruiting news?

    • That would require research and sources. Not happening with SW, who is basically here to feed the Trolls, his real audience.

      • That’s what happens to people who burn bridges. We can only hope the next time he decides to burn a bridge, he’s still on it.

    • That would require him to write articles that paint SC athletics in a positive light. Notice his dead silence regarding the bball team…

    • Oh,and don’t even bring up cup cake BB game this weekend against #16 AM.
That’s going to far inside USC

  5. Kelly is coming to UCLA. If he were picking Florida, why would he wait. Recruiting needs to get going. He’s waiting for Ruins last game so the players don’t have the distractions of answering questions. Plus he would like to see them win for the bowl practices. As far as what this means for USC in my opinion, not much. They’ll be fanfare and a few big recruits will go his way over the next 3 yrs. but DC’s have caught up to he’s style of football. He’ll get his room to grow but will be fired in 4 yrs. plus a lot of money his way.

    • UF has already ditched Kelly per public reports. They want Scott Frost, a much better choice.

      • Having watched 2 qtrs of this game, I’m actually quite relieved that we’ll be facing Kelly and not Frost on a yearly basis.

          • Kelly may be the best thing to happen to us. Overconfident braggadocio that he is. Can’t wait for them to announce tomorrow.

          • Even those guys at espn were saying the game has passed him by. Usually they’d keep their mouths shut when a colleague was up for a new position but there didn’t seem to be much respect there either.

          • No…..but some cable news anchor needs to start running and re-running Franken’s scene at the end of “Trading Places” —where he drools while watching a Gorilla mate with a man in a Gorilla suit. It could be the straw that breaks the camel’s back.

          • Now that you mention it —-those really looked looked like Al’s shifty eyes inside the Gorilla mask…….
            #….AndHeGotWasComingToHim

          • Is there any other man who we would rather be under the fire Franken is under?

I can think of a few women I would love to see get hit with SH, but Takei and Franken are beauties.

        • Show Cause Chip IS all ucla. Thanks again Gators. Appreciate the favor. The Gators gotta win and they won’t be settling for Mr. Show Cause.

Can’t wait to see that NFL reject catch fire in Wimpwood. Funny thing is, ucla is losing a very good OC in all this. The bruins can never get it right. The Curse of Cade is still alive and well in bruin blue – whatever color that is now.

And The Kiffer is taking the coaching world by storm! Love him putting those ripped jeans on Saban. Dude is funny!

  6. Scooter, just a reminder of what the great Don Rickles would say, great thought and now do u want a cookie?

  7. Who cares about this when there are state championships, scholarships to 8th graders, and statues that spell Shakespeare strangely plaguing the world.

      • Wow thanks for the reminder, so many sleepless nights fretting sock colors. Until this is remedied I am going on a hunger strike.

        • Thanks. Just say five “Baby QB’s”, obsess over Lane Kiffin for twenty minutes, mix in a “Ceaser” or two and vow to make an inexplicably large number of type-o’s at work and you will be absolved.

  8. A lot of them are still here Wolf, trying to figure out what your next worthless post will be. What is the USC football team been doing all week, we don’t seem to get any news on here, to much crap to wade through.

  9. There were people who actually approached you and said WMU was going to go 11-1…sure, that happened.

How about we focus on your #3 pick, 4-6 Florida St, who you finally moved out of your Top 25… in week seven, after they went 1-3.

    • Don’t forget ER, W.Mich. was tied or ahead in the 4 qtr. at the crumbling mausoleum.

I sincerely hope Stanford is the North conf. opponent in the Pac – 12 Championship game.

      • Sort of like when Jim Mora threw the game against Stanford, as to avoid getting smoked by Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship game… where they got smoked by Stanford.

Don’t forget the ER “golden age of UCLA football” when they were up 14-7 against SC for like four minutes in 2016.

        • Don’t mock that 14 minutes, ER. UCLA’s players and staff worked hard to reach that shining summit. What they achieved will resonate in eternity…..
          #….Besides,NoDynastyLastsForever

          • Oh the irony, a republican administration! If they get their way politically they’ll never be good again, if they get good again, a conservative military man will be in office.
Maybe this was the conundrum Scott was talking about!

  10. It wasn’t me. I was almost as pissed then as I am today that we struggled against a team with new coaches (including the HC’s debut) and new QB (also his first start) and no returning WRs. For the returning team, there is a new scheme for both O and D.

It was and embarrassment for us and still is, just like the UClown game last week.

    • Wrong hooligan. Western Michigan was Helton’s and his teams first game of the season. The game was used to evaluate the players. Who will be the ones who show they can play ? Who’s up ? Who’s down ? Your post is decidedly Lightweight. Suggestion: Go back to class.

      • A hammer, as I’m just a couple years your junior, I was wondering when it was you started following Trojan football? Who was the coach, etc.

      • Yeah, they had no idea who could do what after Spring and Fall. They had no idea after the 1Q and 2Q and 3Q. Facing 2-stars in total upheaval with 1st-timers as HC, QB and 4 WRs-deep. How can we possibly defend a team that clearly has only a running game? We play nickel for the entire game and never stuff the run all in the name of testing all the players.

And, we have improved SO MUCH since.

Your post is an epic poem in scatology.

        Brilliant.

  11. “Toledo defeated Western Michigan, 37-10, today. The Broncos are 6-6.
Again, where are the USC fans who told me Western Michigan would go 11-1
    after losing to USC?”

The Sunshine Pumpers are holding their annual end of the year “Crotchfest” where they all gather around fondling and congratulating one another on what a magnificent job they think they did making excuses for Clay Helton’s piss poor coaching and lack of player development throughout the year.

    • Back to the Crud, Obama. Helton = 18 wins, only 2 loses. Is this your first year following college football, Obama ? It’s readily apparent that your not their yet, and have a long was to go. Take a long break. Read the box scores and get back to us in 12 months.

  12. What happened to Miami? At least when USC loses on the road, it’s to a ranked team. Hilarious….

  13. There are 3 statements in this blog, only two of which are true:

    1. True — “Toledo defeated Western Michigan, 37-10, today.”
    2. True — “The Broncos are 6-6.”
    3. False — “Where are the USC fans who told me Western Michigan would go 11-1 after losing to USC?” No USC fan would ever speak to Eeyore (a pessimistic, gloomy, depressed, anhedonic, old grey stuffed donkey).

  14. Let’s face it, Trojans win ugly for the most part especially at home
which seems weird since they win constantly. Really who cares other than making the CFB playoffs which is not happening this year anyways with two losses. Frustrating for sure.

  15. I’m becoming concerned that Clay Helton is going to divide people. He’s incompetent, point blank. He should be replaced. I love Swanny but he’s not experienced in college football hiring whatsoever. It’s gonna be a long next few years.
