Quite A Flight

A lot of USC fans flying back to Long Beach from San Jose on Saturday were joined by an unexpected group: The Stanford basketball team, which played Long Beach State on Sunday. From what I hear, everyone got along just great.

    • Absolutely, with David Shaw. Back in the day with John Ralston, it wasn’t so respectful. McKay couldn’t stand him. Ralston was quoted in regards to McKay as: ” I don’t want to get into a urinating contest with a skunk.”. McKay said something like “I dont trade hee-haws with a jackass.” Times have definitely changed.

    • too many players know each other from each team. Shaw’s uncle, Nate Shaw coached for USC. Good school and I cheer for them except when playing against USC, then it is, Scalp the Injuns, time. David Shaw seems like a good guy and he presents a good team.

  1. If it was the UCLA basketball team on the flight the captain most assuredly would’ve come on the intercom and stated,
“Ladies and gentlemen, this is your captain speaking. On board is the UCLA Men’s basketball team. Please keep your jewelry and valuables close by. Some of these players have a case of sticky fingers. Have a pleasant flight.”

  2. Well they weren’t SEC fans so I don’t see why there would be a problem with anything.
