It was a close game until that 4th quarter which was dominated completely by the Buckeyes.

OJ had a couple of key fumbles and dropped an easy TD pass right before one of those … but also had that amazing early 80 yd TD run … in your Curt Gowdy voice “ This is Simpson … look out ! he runs the hundred in 9.4 … 80 yds for OJ Simpson ! “

Considering all the talent that left in the 1968 draft (Yary-MN, Taylor PIT, Hull- CHI, Young-PHI, Rossovich-PHI, Crane-DC, Magner-NYJ) it was a tribute to McKay and the staff they nearly did it all again.

That OSU team was stacked, with a great defense. I remember they had a “middleguard” named Stillwagon who was really tough.

    Turnovers did the Trojans.

    • SucKiffin

Bucks also had a saftey named Jack Tatum !

Yes – I think that many of those guys may have been sophomores.

        • rusoviet

          Tatum was – born 1948 – 2nd year Buckeye

          • trojan_1972

Ok – then I think many of the other stars on that team were also sophs. They had a good run, but the best team was their first (soph) year.

That OHIO ST team was enormously talented. Their soph QB, Rex Kern, was a real magician with the ball and played DB in the NFL.

      • SucKiffin

Had a halfback named Leo Hayden who hurt SC catching the ball.

USC’s WR Nelson Agholor just caught a game winning pass for the Philadelphia Eagles, defeating the Los Angeles Rams. The win guarantees the 11-2 Eagles the Championship of the NFC East Division. Last week, Agholor caught 7 passes for 141 yards in a losing cause against the Seattle Seahawks. Mr. Agholor has become a BONAFIDE NFL Wide Receiver. Congratulations !!!

Notice that Jim Otis is wearing a Macgregor externally padded helmet. Manufactured to reduce concussions but found out to cause severe neck issues. Priceless if you can find one out there.
