Andre Hunt Decommits

Paraclete wide receiver Andre Hunt announced he was no longer committed to USC. This looks an awful lot like USC might have dropped him. There is quite a trend in recent years of USC dropping recruits who already committed. It’s not really mentioned because Clay Helton comes across as friendly to everyone. Don’t be surprised if Hunt ends up at UCLA.

.There is quite a trend in recent years of kids dropping USC who already committed.. It swings both ways

  2. I have been expecting this for quite a while. Why did they offer him so long ago, must have seen something but perhaps they heard Fred complain and are taking fewer WR’s.

  3. nope another chip Kelley in home visit. I was never sold on this kid anyways. only a 3 star recruit not very big in size ok speed, im hearing this kid has issues doing the work needed to survive d1 football good idea if usc dropped him. kids like these are a dime a dozen.

    • Good stuff. I just figured they have guys lined up that need scholies for. Making room for a transfer maybe?

      • I am almost sure they have kids ready. look what happened to the rb they just flipped. the other kid is making a huge mistake if you ask me he should pick usc cause stepp is a thunder style back like lendal was now use needs to sign a speed kid like reggie if that kid does his research he will see reggie got some love early..

  4. I remember a beat writer complaining about offering too many scholarships to WR’s, but I can’t quite put my finger on what his name was… Flow, I think…

  5. i dont now much abuot him or recuriting or foot ball but ill coment any way cuz i all ways got to be herd and i realy got no thing else in my life,

    • I always wonder why you’re always here ucla Troll. Can’t you get anything else going on, even amongst your fellow ucla tu*rds?

  6. Good grief Scott you’re really reaching with this one. You act like Helton is the only coach that has ever done this but it’s going on all over the country. Recruiting is an ugly two-way street with some of the kids telling coaches they are coming then flipping at the last minute. Works both ways.

    • Exactly. Recruiting is a negotiation. A deal isn’t done until the kid signs on the dotted line. A verbal is not enough. This does not make Clay Helton unfriendly, as Snowflake Scottie makes is appear. (I love Scottie and his angsty eruptions, of course. Why else would I keep coming back over the last 18 years?)

  7. No reason whatsoever for USC to hang onto any commits who have been passed up by better prospects in USC coaches eyes. Has nothing to do with friendship. In fact it would be very unfriendly to bring in someone who’s immediately destined for the Ricky Town experience.

  8. As I have been saying. A lot of top talent leaning our way, and nowhere to put them on the scholarship list. Not surprised to see this.

Along with Dedich, Gaoteote and Raymond Scott, Kana’i Mauga looks like an early signer, where will he sign?

    • People have been saying USC is supposed to see 5-6 departures, so space wouldn’t seem to be a problem unless all those rumors are bogus.

      • I expect 3-4 and 1-2 tranfers…Still, 6 non-SR departures still only leave 16 scholarships.

  9. Amon -Ra St. Brown, are you on your way?

Andre Hunt and a lot of these early committed players who later decommit benefit greatly from a school like USC offering them a schollie. Can you say exposure and validation after having committed to SC. After he committed, I bet Hunt’s recruitment skyrocketed.

  10. Hunt saw the writing on the wall! Only criminals and degenerates get playing time at southern cal! Smart kid! Now go find a real school to play at!

    • Still ticked at the beautiful girl who tried to tell you to leave her alone and now attends a school you had no chance of being admitted to Owns?

  11. SW makes a good point. Clay gets credit for being a swell guy, but this recommitment trend after we dropped them is a bit troubling….
