Clay Helton On Coaches

Clay Helton was asked today if any more coaches might depart: “It’s too early (to say). They’re so talented. I hope they all stay.”

  1. What did you want him say? “I guess I’ll fire a couple after the bowl game but before the big recruiting push? ”
It is always a possibility there will be a few changes on staff. Nobody is safe including an underachieving O line coach, an overpriced Defensive coordinator and an over the hill special teams coach (who can’t count to11) It’s anybody’s guess what will happen at this point. But I guarantee things will be sorted out soon enough.

    • According to sources, you’re struggling out on the Pop Warner fields……..I’m extremely disappointed

      (hide your resume)

  2. He probably shouldn’t have said that because he probably will have to make some changes and then the Wolfs of the world will bring that up.

    • National Player of the Year!
      Nice.
Over all the other seniors? Or Junior class?

      Any recruiting news?

        • Ok. Then Tate Martell won it his junior year. Max Brown and Matt Barkley won in their final years.

          • My friend called me a couple of hours ago and says Chris Swanson is reporting that Jaiden Woodbey is signing with Florida State. I told him “You just subscribed to Scott Schroeder and are doubting him?”

But Scott S, GMart, and Chris Trevino are hearing USC.

The rumor is Chris Hawkins dad is pushing him. Something like that. His father is probably a nice man, but he spends too much time talking to people like you and me and some fans have been very upfront and honest with him about his sons playing career, also I forget his name right now, but Mr. Hawkins siding with/or standing with the player that was kicked off the team who Sark was racist. I guess SS told one of his subscribers that Swanson is only getting info from Mr. Hawkins, but he stop has Woodbey a Trojan.

          • C R A Z Y. TMI. Wow, this is what signing day is all about!!! Jack Carman announces at 8:00 am.

          • Thanks bud. It’s looking like Woodbey is head to Tallahassee. Gerard Martinez and about 6 others have him there this morning.
            I guess we’ll find out.

But how in the heck is Jackson Carman not signing on tv? The beef with Herbi might have 86 him from the membership.

  3. HELTON
“Coach Callaway, Coach Pendergast, and Coach Bradford please step into my office.”

“Ok, Its been a good run but we are going in another direction and we appreciate all the work.”

    PENDERGAST
    “What the!?”

    HELTON
“You don’t have to go home but you gotta get the he** outuh here!”

  5. Clay was sending a subliminal message, that he personally likes his assistants, but if any of them get fired, it’s because of Lynn Swann… lol

  6. If Helton said that he thinks some of the coaches should leave, Wolfie would be criticizing that statement. Either way, Baxter and Bradford need to go kick rocks. Maybe Chip Kelly will “steal” them from us lol

  7. schammer47 hopes all of Clay Helton’s Coaches stay for at least two more seasons, each with a new more lucrative contract. What say you, Wolfbag ?

  8. Speaking of coaches, Kiffin was given a 10 yr contract. 1st time FAU ever won 10 games, and last time they won their conf championship was about 10 yrs ago; they were super bad last yr…he turned it around,in one year; has some pretty good players.Their tail back rushed for 1800 yds and same starting 5 on offensive line all year, no injuries. Glad Clay Helton likes his staff ,he picked them.

    • I actually always liked Kiffen. It would have interesting to see what he could have done after the sanctions passed.

      • True, although it seemed at times something was amiss …he had a good staff and recruited SC to survive those ncaa kangaroo court sanctions…I think the way sc handled him was very undignified for the sc I grew up loving… the old sc 40s 50s 60s…anyway I admire his tenacity and perseverance, he is still learning obviously, but to take a pure loser and make it over into a winner and, well, he just did it.
