USC Forward Chimezie Metu Suspended For One Half Vs. California

USC announced tonight that forward Chimezie Metu was suspended for one half, surrendered his captaincy and issued a letter of apology for punching a Washington State player in the groin. The Pac-12 accepted the penalty and will issue no further punishment.

A one-half suspension vs. awful Cal? That seems like an awfully light penalty.

Metu’s letter says “a lack of judgment for a split second led to an action that I immediately regretted and had no business committing in the first place. I understand there is no place in the game of basketball for such an unsportsmanlike action.”
Metu said he is “prepared to take any necessary steps to ensure that I am not involved in such an incident moving forward.”

  1. I’m watching the Clemson-Alabama game and this reminds me of USC. The Clemson O-line is getting pushed around by Bama. There is pressure on every play. Clemson cant run the ball at all. Clemson’s O-Line looks as despondent and confused as SC’s did against Ohio State. Some of these missed blocks just look like they really dont care anymore.

  2. Typical CS bozo u discipline. Just cause Metu deliberately sucker punched an opponent’s junk, there’s no need for the two-bit bozo BB program to suffer.

Together, the pathetic Andyain’twinning and Swanny don’t have the spine of a jellyfish.

  3. Clemson/Bamy has a similar score to USC/not the osu. Fire Swinney? What say you, Flow?

  4. Wait! Was that just a coach right in front of the camera whistling and throwing his arms up on the sidelines for an injured player for Bamy?! Flow! Say it ain’t so!

  5. “Metu said he is “prepared to take any necessary steps to ensure that I am not involved in such an incident moving forward.”” So he’s going to see a USC Med Center psychiatrist?

  6. most comments never heard ‘you who are sinless cast the first stone, under penalty of being judged by that same standard, lest you be judged…he is still very young, not matured …did wrong knows it and issued a real apology…that’s my observation…let him learn and fight on, wish is what I would hope for any.
