USC has hired Brent Crouch from Portland University as its women’s volleyball coach.
UPDATED: Crouch was the 2016 WCC coach of the year. Portland went 15-15 this season. Is this an upgrade? Who knows.

Well at least it’ll be a while until he files an age discrimination suit – what a goof that former USC coach Haley was/is

Interesting hire. Although he has been in Northwest, he has good club connections both in Southern California, and elsewhere. That’s important, Club is where one really recruits.
He’s new school VB, which may be a good change for Women of Troy.

I was blocked again by site. (No pun). It’s a detailed answer. But to make it very simple. Volleyball is very controlled emotional sport. Barrier separates teams. New school coaches are bringing the fun back. Karch Karai good example. He brought Analytics, fun and up to date training to Olympic team. Same needs to happen for Trojans. Watching the game, look how each team resets, after each point. Fun believe it or is big part of sport. Old school got very serious with age.

Seems like a good hire to me, in many respects. Like it! Karch is an amazing VB legend, both past and present. If he’s good enough for Karch, send him over.

Really they could not do a better hire than Crouch. Come on 15 – 15 this past season in a lower echelon conference. Haley almost makes the final four yet gets terminated for this ridiculous hire. Haley had won a national title with Texas plus Olympic experience when hired by USC. Anybody a ‘ruin recommends is worthless in my opinion. Just look at jeff Nygaard ( former ucla player ) with the men who is worthless with his recruiting, and coaching. Like to know who turned the program down before reaching out to left field.
