Andy Enfield v. Tad Boyle

Apparently, there is a feud leading into tonight’s game at the Galen Center. Andy Enfield got so mad at Colorado coach Tad Boyle, he read a written statement yesterday after practice. Talk about spontaneous anger.

“We are disappointed in Tad Boyle’s comments, and what they imply,” Enfield said. “Not only is it unfair for someone to comment who doesn’t have all the facts, but those comments are unfair to those of us involved in the USC men’s basketball program, most importantly to our student-athletes and their families. They’re outstanding young men who chose USC to earn a world-class education and to compete for championships.”

Boyle said he got extra satisfaction beating Arizona and USC because they are under FBI investigation.

“I gave an honest answer to a simple question and it was never my intention for this to escalate,” Boyle said.

If you think Boyle is worried, remember what Utah coach Larry Krystkowiak said a couple years ago to Enfield.

  1. Scooter,
What is this in reference to? is this about Melton, the recruiting, Enfield, SC’s players, or anything related to USC? Give details pertaining to the above mentioned blog.

  2. This oozes of TMZ juice for Flow. I’ll bet he enjoys watching this “feud” rather than the actual game itself tonight while downing some soft serve. That’s if he actually attends…

  3. Keep reading leads me to a three year old comment by none other than Charlie Bucket. I haven’t heard from him in a while unless he is using a new name… Let me see who fits that description…. ? You gueys know?

    • The guy called ‘bernie’? Just sayin’….sounds a lot like a suck up for wooden but if I am mistaken sorry….

  4. Boyle knows who the cheaters are and is probably glad to see their day of reckoning coming. It must be hard to run a clean program only to see others benefit from paying players. So, I understand Coach Boyle wanting to speak out.

  5. Rumor mill rolling – Rick Neuheisel lead candidate to replace Rich Rod @ AZ also Mark Helfrich. Detailed path of how and why might be credible as Neuheisel, can recruit (Hundley), won a Rose Bowl (for WA) and was w. BAL Ravens as their OC lot more recently than Herm Edwards at AZ St., on PMS this evening. Also in the mix Kevin Sumlin. Also discussed Sarkisian ‘allegedly’ interested in leaving ATL for SEA after the ‘night of the long knives; Pete Carroll just got through with his coaching staff. PC saw what the Falcons broguht to the playoff again against LAR last Saturday. PMS then stated current Falcon Head Coach, Dan Quinn, probably has a veto on such.

Lastly where do all those sacked Seahawk assistant coaches go next? Elsewhere in the NFL or: ucla? OR? AZ?

  6. So the takeaway is that a mediocre Colorado team is coming to play us tonight and that a loss will drop us from the middle to the bottom quarter of the conference.

And people are taking shots at us for the FBI investigation we got caught up in despite Pat Haden paying a former FBI Director’s company hundreds of thousands of dollars to avoid this sort of thinking happening.

Interesting… We should have two major sport head coaching vacancies sometime in 2018.

  7. Looks like Enfield gets the last laugh, Flow. “Hawr-hawr” (think Chaz Bucket). That was the quickest head coach handshake I’ve ever seen. I will, however, give props to the Colorado head coach who took an extra second to talk to Melton, which I would hope and assume he quickly explained his statement.
