USC Quick Thought

Someone asked me on twitter if I had any positive news on USC football? My response: Undefeated since Dec. 30, 2017!

So that answers all our questions. Wolf has nothing positive about USC. What a great life and outlook Wolf has. Bad, worse, miserable.

    • USC jojo

I can already imagine it. sw, owns, and bucket, all chest bumping each other.

      • Pudly76

Ow! I just pictured it…now you owe me…ewe.

        • USC jojo

          LOl!!!!!!

  • rusoviet

It’s no different than the millions who keep ripping LeVar Ball (with reason) but still listen and read his every word. Me I like Scott regardless – he puts up topics every day and it allows a new set of replies instead of wading through some 200+ that would be with fewer topics to be enraged about.

    • Pudly76

Couldn’t he mix in something positive on occasion? Just asking.

      • Stuart Leventer

It’s not easy to be positive about the team after that filthy loss in the CB only two weeks ago unless you’re high on something.

        • Pudly76

Don’t have to be high, don’t have to be positive, just a realist. The best juniors on almost every team leave early..there’s enough else to complain about without making things out worse than they are. That’s all.

          • Stuart Leventer

Speaking of realists, it seems to me that SW is more realistic than many on here with regard to the current SC coaching. Quite a few on here are simply out of touch with the reality.

          • Pudly76

Opinions are like faces, everybody’s got one, some more than one..Scott had problems with Pete Carroll too, why was that..common thread is Scott having problems

          • Stuart Leventer

Yeah, but who called Carroll “Caesar”? I don’t think anybody else did. I’d say that was a show of respect. Would he call Helton “Alexander”? I doubt it.

          • Pudly76

That was him being the cynic because Carroll ran the program and only gave interviews to those he thought were positive influences on the program, why do you think Petros has a problem with him?

          • steveg

Okay folks, lets get real. Wolf is provocative with his comments. He wants people to have an emotional response and post back on here. It is how they sell advertising. We all know he doesn’t hate USC, it is just his schtick he does. I know I go along with it and argue back. Occasionally I agree. But we don’t need to argue over Scott Wolf, except for Ted, Owns, Killer, and the illiterate one we are all smarter than Wolf, and we all know it.

          • gotroy22

            Yes it’s a blog!

          • JustOwns

I’ve never had a problem with Mr Wolf’s blog or journalistic style.

I prefer Wolf’s truthful or opinionated threads to Ms. Nguyen’s polite UCLA coverage.

          • Stuart Leventer

Petros? lol. You a fan of his? He ought to be absolutely beside himself to know he’s got at least one fan in all of LA!

          • Pudly76

Not a fan. Occasionally listen if I’m traveling. He can’t stand Pete either. It’s too funny..you’d think Pete stole Petros’ piggy bank when he was a baby. Obsessed with him.

          • Stuart Leventer

There isn’t much middle ground for him. I guess an apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. His old man wasn’t exactly known for his modesty, either.

          • Pudly76

See, there is much to agree upon.

          • rusoviet

The ‘pud’ (seems that was a derogatory term towards the male productive organ n’est pas?) has a new friend.

          • rusoviet

I like Petros – he’s got a quick wit and a pretty encyclopedic mind but I understand how he grates on others. Best 3 hours everyday on afternoon sports radio anywhere. Now as to that back end of a horse father of his….

          • GOMER HELTON

            More like Nero

          • Stuart Leventer

            Caligula?

          • gotroy22

He was right about Pete’s basketball buddies Kiffin and Sark who destroyed the Carroll Dynasty. The rah rahs can never forgive him for that.

          • Pudly76

He was doing it before the ouster of Chow. And Chow had as much to do with it as the other two did, you’re not supposed to show up your boss at work, and he did against Texas.

          • gotroy22

Texas? You mean Oklahoma? Chow was replaced by Pete’s basketball buddies after the Orange Bowl rout of OK.

          • Pudly76

Could’ve sworn it was the Rose Bowl..

          • Pudly76

Just looked you’re right again, thanks.

          • gotroy22

What exactly did Chow do or say after the OK win? I was so happy with the complete domination of USC over college football that night that I didn’t notice the drama going on behind the scenes..

          • gotroy22

True, the ruins never achieve and yet they have lost many players recently.

          • Pudly76

As do osu, psu, fsu and the rest. They go get paid.

        • steveg

What was his problem prior to that loss.

          • gotroy22

Losing to our rival ND 49-14?

      • gotroy22

That’s what Garry P’s website is about.

        • Pudly76

I yield to your authority on the subject…wolf will never be accused of being objective.

          • gotroy22

In the Era of Fake News no one is objective.
The Clinton News Network and PMSNBC tried to blame President Trump for the One Party Democrat State of Hawaii accidentally setting off a missile alarm today….You take a little SW and a little Garry P and mix it together and get a balanced look at SC football.

          • Pudly76

That whole missile thing was crazy, those poor women and kids trying to figure out how to kiss your asz goodbye…and the first indictments came down on the uranium case..Hehe..and wolf sucks

          • steveg

I would imagine a whole lot of people came face to face with their mortality. Kind of an awakening in a lot of ways.

          • Pudly76

We had drop and cover drills in school when I was a kid..but yeah, weird.

          • gotroy22

Yes somehow we survived all that but today the Snowflakes melt…

          • gotroy22

I remember back during the Carter administration the siren warning went off in West Los Angeles. It made you think. But we didn’t blame President Jimmy Carter for it!

          • gotroy22

And the Hillary loving ruins suck.

          • Pudly76

The funny thing is, they do and they know it…ha!

          • gotroy22

Their old fall back, the basketball program, is going nowhere. They have nothing now but being Social Justice Warriors and following Hillary like lemmings off the cliff.

          • Pudly76

Funny, because the first thing they do if they don’t like a post on their site is start hurling homophobic slurs at people, then act stupid when it’s pointed out…on second thought, maybe stupid isn’t an act.

          • gotroy22

It isn’t. They are book smart and common sense stupid.

          • JustOwns

Once again the Trumpturd 22 has failed to pull his head out of Fox F**K News’ rectum.

The Democratic Gov. of Hawaii has stated officially the erroneous “In coming alert” was an accident committed by a State employee who pushed the wrong button.

          • gotroy22

I am shocked that Owns’ Clinton News Network’s Keith Boykin and Owns PMSNBC’s Joy Reid and Owns’ lib pals like Jaimie Lee Libby and Jim Carrylib and Dumbocrat Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard would try to blame the President of the United States for the bunglings of the Dumbocrat One Party State of Hawaii.

Hey Owns, are you standing with the Dreamer MS-13 gang members with the rest of the ruin libs?

    • Fred Sampson

      Exactly

      • rusoviet

What a game in Philly Fred!

    • Allan

      Da

      • rusoviet

        Spasebo

  • Pudly76

Rasheem Green going to the NFL. Good luck Rasheem..

    • David Keeling

Players are bolting Helton’s circus. Don’t blame them really. They can surely get better coaching elsewhere even on a practice squad.

      • Pudly76

When our juniors go, they’re bolting. Other schools juniors are just leaving early, why’s that?

        • steveg

It is a negative mindset now on here. It is like the never-trumpers.

      • rusoviet

But the ‘pud’ can’t stand it!

  • David Keeling

If Clay Helton really wanted to build the USC football program, he would have tried to keep McCallough as the RB coach by offering him more money and giving him a title since he was one of the better position coaches on a questionable staff. I fear Helton will now go knocking on WKU’s door again for some lacky or even find another graduate assistant somewhere and expect Carr to prosper by it.

    • peter

First interview, McCallough gave.He made sure it he was qouted that “Helton and Swann stepped up and fought hard to keep him”

      • GOMER HELTON

More of the quote ” but I got tired of the forced RB rotation, the 3 Stooges calling plays, a clown coaching the OL. Plus, my money will go farther in KC and the traffic is a lot better, same for the housing “

        • Pudly76

Why do you lie, truth doesn’t support your agenda.

        • Peaceful Warrior

Yea, so many people are moving to KC these days? He went to be with Bienimy and pro job is more pay and less hassle. Don’t have to deal with goofballs on blogs.

          • gotroy22

That’s right they don’t get the interwebs there.

      • Pudly76

Deland was a former teammate with Bienimy and wanted to be together with him on the same staff.

    • steveg

Guy had a dream to coach in the nfl. Nobody could take that away. They did try to keep him.

      • JR

        THANK YOU

    • Fred Sampson

A co-head coaching title, and a boost in pay should have been offered, but that would have jeopardized, the very insecure, Clay Helton’s position

      • steveg

        How do you know?

      • Pudly76

Your right. Your always right. You talked with Deland and you know.

      • Jack B

Come on Fred. You have no clue into the negotiations, or why McCullough left and for what.

        • Pudly76

Ryan Abraham with 24/7 had a text exchange with Deland and put up a free article with text quotes if you really want to know.

          • peter

            Bingo

          • USCDAN1986

DMac’s wife and family are also from the midwest.. That was partly the decision of leaving for KC.. Hope he does well, did a great job for us..

          • Jack B

            How about a 3-sentence recap?

          • Pudly76

Bienimy was a mentor teammate and friend who got promoted in KC. He was the one who recommended Deland and when Deland discussed it with Helton and Swann, Deland said they offered him much in trying to keep him, but KC was too good to turn down.

        • Brent4c

Fred’s soliton is to outbid and out offer everyone. It is the NFL…there was 0 reason for him not to take it.

          • Chris

Fred wants 9 lineman and 2 fullbacks. Run dives on every play.

      • Peaceful Warrior

        Wow, Fred has lost it.

        • GOMER HELTON

          You never had it

          • Pudly76

How would you know? You’ve never even seen it.

    • Goldar…

They did offer him a raise. but he had bigger dreams(NFL).

  • Old Trojans never die

Fact check: USC Football lost in the area of returning players and coaching interviews. USC won in recruiting quarterback and receiver.

    • GOMER HELTON

And lost BIG TIME in OL recruiting which is typical of Gomer and his ilk, all skill no beef

      • Pudly76

Second highest rated class, per athlete in all services..

  • GOMER HELTON

Has Gomer contacted Eric Bienemy? Mark Carrier ?

He probably has no idea who they ate, didn’t play for his daddy, buddies or coach at W. Kentucky

    • Pudly76

Who did they ate? Bienimy is still on staff with the chiefs, they moved him up, according to McCullough.

  • Jack B

Per Pro Football Talk, Tee is finalizing a K extension to remain at USC.

    • Pudly76

Does that mean DelRio isn’t coming? Ha

      • Jack B

I’ve never been a JDR fan. Hope he learns how to win more games than he loses some day. Always rooting for Trojans.

        • Pudly76

I wasn’t excited about it yesterday when that was thrown around..good Trojan, not necessarily as our coach.

          • steveg

It was fun while it lasted. USCDAN probably won’t come back again under that name. I had my doubts but it felt good for a while.

          • Pudly76

Can’t be too hard on him.. everyone gets burned once in a while…of course face is a hard thing to lose and then still stand up for yourself.

          • USCDAN1986

Why would I leave ? .. The Del Rio to USC is a done deal!

          • steveg

Okay buddy, I sure hope you are for real.

          • USCDAN1986

Word is that Del rio is coming on. In what capacity not sure.

          • USCDAN1986

The above are text from my contact at USC.

          • Pudly76

Where’s the text, can’t find them

          • Chris

For real, we all know it’s not happening. Tee is staying as OC. Your contact is wrong or lying. Nobody else is saying anything about it. Not one source.

          • USCDAN1986

Hearing conflicting info. One says Del rio is OC. Other says Helton is demoted to OC

          • Pudly76

Tee Martin just renegotiated his contract.

          • USCDAN1986

Is it a done deal ?

          • Pudly76

Being reported as in process by multiple sources and outlets.

          • USCDAN1986

Its not a done deal per my intel.. Good recruiter, awful OC..

          • USCDAN1986

            Not a done deal.

          • Pudly76

            Wolf’s reporting it now

          • Lunderful

            Wrong….it IS a done deal.

          • USCDAN1986

            No its not!

          • USCDAN1986

All good.. I attached two text from the athletic department..

          • Pudly76

I didn’t say you would, actually hoped you wouldn’t. As far as JDR, we’ll see.

          • Lunderful

Do you still stand by the De Rio claim?

          • USCDAN1986

            Yep

    • steveg

Is he going to have a contract longer than Heltons? Sounds fishy if he is.

      • Jack B

Looks to me like Swann doesn’t think he’s gonna have to ditch Helton. I think that’s pretty clear. You can structure K’s so you don’t have much long term vulnerability – by offsetting. Tee’s young and he wants to be a HC. He’s not looking for long term USC security IMO. He’s looking to climb off. USC can just agree to pay him much better in the short term. That’s my guess.

        • Pudly76

He’d be foolish not to work with Grudin if he got the chance, beck of a resume boost.

          • Jack B

I’m not a big Grudin fan. To me, he’s a much better TV announcer than he ever was a coach. His last years at TB were absolute crap. Total mincemeat.

Why would Tee ever want to just coach WRs in the NFL instead of OCing at USC? Mystery to me.

  • Trojan96

Green just declared. There goes our dominant D Line for 2018. Ugh… That’s one guy we really needed for one more year.

    • Jack B

The NFL wants him. Not sure why all you guys thought he was gonna stay anyway. Never made sense to me. Most of the good ones ALWAYS go.

  • Jack B

It’s not over by a long shot yet. We did bring in a great OC prospect and could end up signing OT Penei Sewell, from Utah. I have no idea if we’ll get him, but it doesn’t look good per 247.

Bottom line – party is not over yet. It’s just not. So it’s too early to pronounce judgment. USC has recruited unreal LBs, WR, RB, QB and looks good at DL/DE. OL could still come true for us and now that Tee has re-signed to extend with SC, that gives USC more stability. He’s a great recruiter.

    • Pudly76

So Jack, Clancy P originally got a two yr contract.. that means it’s up now..what’s next?

      • Jack B

No clue, except that Swann wants continuity. So, there you go. USC’s D is pretty good too.

However, I say negotiate hard with him and if he wants above market, let him go and substitute with someone who likes to recruit and can really do it. McCullough could recruit, so we’re needy there.

I like Pendergast, but wouldn’t mind if he left either. I’m more worried about our CBs than our defense in general.

        • Pudly76

He’s actually below market at $850000/yr., and that explains the db coach interviewing last week, I hope. Things are still moving along and I am hopeful of some change still coming. Sometimes a different voice or presentation makes a big difference.

          • Jack B

That’s why Tee undoubtedly got a nice raise! That’s more important than extending him out. He’s looking to leave anyway.

  • Sandy Underpants

What happened on your Instagram today?

  • Pudly76

Boom to you, and hardly a fizzle in the real world.

  • Pasadena Trojan

Scooter, were you drooling when you wrote that comment?

  • Porfirio666

Scooter doesn’t like to dwell on the positive.

  • Jeff Morse

Wolfie, you are a miserable, little , gnome who WILL find something negative to write about the Trojans no matter what they do. I will always support the Trojans as all true fans do, hope they learn from their mistakes and make the changes they need to, and try not to talk s–t about them day in and day out like you. Any positive news about Scott Wolf ? …………. ………………………..crickets. …………
