#richgettingricher
I dunno if he reads the negative comments here, he’s destined to attend Rocky Top.
They’ve got their own issues with the partisans…
TN is a graveyeard
Good news!….thanks for the info, steve
“Regulatooorrrrs! Mount up!”
LOL
Winner .. Lol
Does this mean Warren G’s gonna be on the sidelines now, should this kid sign?
WG in da house!
hey we got snoopGG back
he may end up starting lol
So much insight. I reported here that OG was already committed to USC per the Green Board two days ago.
Usually if it’s negative news Scott is on top of it. Any positive news gets dump on Friday afternoons or with crusty bitter opinions.
The DN is chopping employees.. Lol.. He’s trying .
Word.
Jack: Curious – what the Green Board?
Wild west
Lets hope he does sign. He apparently was impressive at the Army Allstar game. The more competition in the defensive backfield the better
SO TRUE.
You did Jack, excellent call..
Great video interview between Hufanga and Peneii Sewell on 247 today. Says all the SC players are the kids he’s vibing with the most.
Yeah, I saw it.. I’ve been pretty sick the last couple days, that flu hit me real hard there for a couple minutes.
Flu caught me a couple of weeks ago. Hope we surprise Oregon and Bama.
Yea me too.. be nice to win a recruiting battle with bama again.
Yep
24/7 redid their rankings and JT moved up to number six overall and they have us with 4 five star recruits now.
I seen some of that. We should be #2 or #3 on signing day.
Solomon Tuilupupu won the Butkus HS Linebacker award and was named USA TODAY DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR and is still not a 5-Star. That’s weak.
Was hurt at the end of the year.
I forget about that.
What do we think of this guy? Top talent? Can he play as a freshman? (maybe pushing Biggie to Safety?)
Anybody could push Grabby to safety. Problem for Grabby is, we don’t really need him there either. He’s good for depth and mixing up schemes.
The prep recruiting service evaluators have no idea who can come in and start right away. Those are the same guys who thought the stiff-hipped Grabby would be all-world. Ya, right.
All I know is if you actually believe OG’s offer list, no way you don’t want this kid on your team. And as a Mission Viejo guy, USC would benefit greatly from nailing another local 4-star guy.
Nice analysis. I like Biggie’s leadership, but I agree that I don’t wanting him stunting the growth of a young pair of safeties, either. On another front, I hear that Amon-Ra will be returning punts next year (Dan Webber). That would be incredible if true. Can’t do much worse than we did this year at that task.
I’d love to see Grabby somehow launch himself into the NFL with a great 2018 season. He’s the one all along who insisted on being a CB at USC. But mediocrity never goes well with arrogance. Grabby just didn’t grasp the most important fact – he can’t cover one-on-one well. Let him rove around and hit people. Teach him to wrap up. There must be a way for that.
Grazie! And Mazel Tov!
I think he’s a Trojan if we can find a scholarship. We’re at 85 if you count the the commitments that haven’t signed. Though I know they’ll be a little shuffling. Also I think at least 2 scholarships will come from 5th year players. Plus at least one transfer. Plus maybe one grey shirt. 4 players are a lock IF we can find the scholies for them. Griffin, Sewell, Williams and Tulaiupupu.
Hemsley transferred out ? SDSU?
Don’t know? But I believe it’s possible for him to do so, plus maybe one other at wr. If you asking me my opinion why shouldn’t he, the guys a good person but he’s lost in the shuffle. Can he improve, sure but so will everyone else. The signs are there, unless the he’s determined to graduate from SC.
USC 247 Chatter is he will transfer out.. Marvel Tell is staying ?
DID TELL PLAY THIS YEAR?
Yes
Dam what mouse don’t really remember hearing his name this year not like the year before
Cook is still weighing his options to leave.
I love it
what a waste of talent. NEXT MAN UP!!
Weezy isn’t going to be happy.
Sewell ? That’s hilarious
Pop Warner!………stay in your lane
Is Taylor-Stuart, the DB, wavering or is he good. Can’t seem to see much about him.
Can a guy that hasn’t committed yet be “wavering”? He is looking at Alabama and Georgia and visiting them closer to signing day, and I didn’t feel great about the way he described his USC visit. There was not as much enthusiasm as I would have liked.
If you sensed the program you’re considering is moving to sack their head coach would you sign on?
Hey Clay – at a minimum get rid fo the baseball caps and look like a coach instead of a security guard.
Yea rock, I think is on it. But I think it’s both ways we don’t have enough scholarships
Is Taylor-Stuart, the DB, wavering or is he good. Can’t seem to see much about him.
Isn’t this the kid we had no chance at because Chip moved in across town 🙂
Chip chases speed. I don’t think this is going to be a loss for him.
Chip dumped the DB coach.
Stupid move in my opinion
Didn’t everyone in bruinland love Demetrice Martin? Or was that just USC people who thought he was great because he was a Trojan grad asst for 2 years?
He’s solid. Good coach. I think Chip should have kept him on.
Agree
I think you liked him more than Bruins did. Bruin DBs drew a lot of flags for holding and PI. Numbers looked better because teams didn’t have to throw the ball when they are able to run for 300 yards. Chip cleaned house on D, which made sense to most of us. Our DLine coach stays to coach TEs. He’s a good recruiter and has put a few players into the league.
I heard bruins blabbing about him a lot when it suited them. It’s business as usual. We tend to like who we have and derogate who we don’t, or who we left behind. Old girlfriends are so good looking in the present.
There are those concerned about losing him, mainly for recruiting. I’m sure they are all experts like me, which is confined to the keyboard! All I know is that we drew a lot of flags. New coaches are going to bring in their guys just like new management in a business. It will be interesting to see if Helton hires him.
I blame the player for PI, always. I played DB and no coach ever caused me to get a penalty. The rules are pretty simple, if you’re a player. You have a right to the ball, but you better be playing it and not the receiver. Players interfere when they get beat and it’s usually a talent, not a skill issue.
I was coached by an NFL DB in HS and I’m sure he just laughed at me sometimes. You can either cover or you can’t. Grabby can’t cover. Deion Sanders would never be able to make him a great CB. He could teach him a few tricks, but could not endow him with basics he is incapable of executing.
Well, I was a basketball player, high jumper and golfer. Not a football player. UCLA DBs often were holding and grabbing and not looking back for the ball. That’s what I saw as a layman. I don’t pretend to be an expert on the subject.
If you’re in college and you’re not looking for the ball always as a DB, that means you’re not suited to play the position. Period. Frankly, I learned that in Pop Warner, probably in week 2. If coaches could just fix it all, recruiting wouldn’t be so important and neither would talent.
Truth is, some of these DBs just aren’t physically talented enough to guard excellent WRs. Fact. So they have to hold and interfere to keep up. Size and speed isn’t enough and that’s why good DBs, especially CBs, are such a premium talent.
Your db’s were young. Holmes has talent but plays undisciplined. He is trying to show his dad that he can play. His dad played in the nfl. I saw Holmes as a little leaguer and he is a good kid at that time, but his dad was was all about himself. It showed when Holmes signed with ugly. The kid wanted to go to usc, but the dad forced him to go to ugly. Tyler Vaughns played against him in little league. My son played with them at that time so I have seen the talent from Vaughns and Holmes playing against each other. Vaughns wins in talent.
Vaughns is a very talented player. At the time, it was reported that Holmes went to UCLA because of his relationship with Coach Martin. I think Martin is his Uncle. We will see how Holmes develops.
Is he fast or is he 4 stars because he is a rapper’s son? Another kid that runs a 11 plus 100m but has a lot of hype isn’t something we need more of in a corner.
Great, a kid who runs a 4.7 at corner. Maybe he can freestyle to WRs over a smooth beat.
Juju makes all rookie team. Fight on Juju!!!
BREAKING OUT OF WASHINGTON.. WSU Qb Tyler Hilinskl found dead..
Rest in Peace Tyler.. ✌
Local police are calling it an apparent suicide…… Way too young to die
so sad. life perspective arrives too late for too many kids and they make impulsive emotional choices.
God rest his soul.
Well said
Warren G (The Rapper), father of Olaijah Griffin does not want his son in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Great example of stupid recruiting by the Vols. No wonder they stink. You gotta learn how to pick your recruiting battles.
It’s like USC spending all that time on the heralded Ohio OL who signed with CLEM. His mom was never letting him come out here, but USC ignored that for reasons unknown.
Good point, but SC has a lot more pull than Tennessee.
We still wasted our time. Now we’re paying for it and on the edge of a bad year for OL recruiting. It didn’t have to be this way and if we picked out targets better in the first place, it wouldn’t be.
Olaijah Griffin…never heard of him.
Next.
