Early Tipoff At Galen Center

What kind of crowd will USC get for a 6 p.m. game at the Galen Center vs. Stanford? The Trojans have won 9 of 11 games. The crowd for this game would be bigger if the game were determined by a halfcourt shot like the meeting at Palo Alto.

  1. Maybe SC should run their basketball program like Nick Saban does… Would that work for you Scott? LA is notorious for having the most options for entertainment, college BB is waaaaaaay down on that list. Especially when everyone gets off work AFTER 5pm. Nearly every Lakers game is at 7:30 pm. That works for them doesn’t it Scott?

      • The Bruins need your help. Have you paid any attention what’s happening with that program?

      • Ucla is looking rather ugly… The once proud program of the Pac 8-10-12 is a shameful mirage of themselves. .. #paytoplayschoolofbball

        • Are the bruins really that bad? Did the China Syndrome Theft Ring sink them and do they have even bigger problems? What gives about the poor little gutties and all their Hamburger All-Americas?

        • Wrong, they are playing like the they did before Johnny Cheetin’ Wooden bought the players. He and his ugly team were mediocre at best

      • When was ucla’s last NC Title? Aren’t you the big bad “Basketball School”???

LOL! I’m not a rocket scientist but it looks like USC is keeping up with ucla. Hahaaahahaahaaaa!!!!!

          • Not only was 1995 very long time ago since they won a NC but that was also the first ucla NC since 1975. I’m sure JMeth is good with numbers. For being a “Basketball Program” or “The Basketball Program” that’s a long time from the John Wooden days or decade.

            *Bonus Burn*
Arizona is the last team from the conference to have won the National Championship.

          • Yes, in sports terms, ancient history. The Dookies, KU, NC, Louisville and KY have surpassed the ruins as basketball schools.

    • You’re correct Pauly, College BB in the form of the bozo u BB program is indeed the bottom of the barrel on LA entertainment list.

  2. If the game were determined by a half court shot the crowd would be bigger? What does that mean, Scottie?

Actually, the problem is this. I finished some business in downtown L.A. shortly before 6, and thought about traveling the 2 miles to Galen. But with the traffic I would have gotten there by about halftime, so I said ‘forgettabbouttitt.’

  3. SoCal needs to do whatever they can to keep fans safe in that neighborhood.
If they can start the game early, that gets many fans at least parked and on the way before the long shadows of danger engulf South Central. True, they still have to get out but at least the first half of their journey is somewhat less perilous.

    • Tell that to the kid that was kidnapped out of his apt right in the trash dump campus called ugly

    • j methanol, Pasadena Trojans’s comment, a specific FACT, condemns your post and I must say, condemns everything about you and what you bring to SW’s Blog.

  4. SAS! Where ya at?! I think if USC gets in the tourney, we could maybe make a deep run the way they’ve been playing lately. I like what I’m seeing. Confident.

    • Joe Lunardi had us in right after we beat Oregon. Now we’ve beat Oregon St and Stanford so the wins are pushing us into the tournament and if we keep playing better ball we won’t be left out. If we’re gonna make a deep run McLaughlin has get hot like he was early in the season and take more shots from outside when he’s open, I’ve noticed he will penetrate or kick out instead of taking a shot.

  5. Who cares? What petty stupidity. Lakers played last night, Clips tonight and UCLA tomorrow night. Plenty of competition for the basketball fan in LA. What really matters? How about a win? Five in a row. Huge. Sorry to ruin SW’s evening. Find some other foolishness to write about…
