You've got 10 minutes

USC quarterback Matt Leinart's new handlers at CAA are already earning their money with the order that Leinart will not speak to reporters individually at Sunday's Pro Day and only be available for 10 minutes in a group setting. Sounds a lot like when he played for the Trojans.
At least Leinart wasn't the biggest celebrity at USC on Wednesday. The hit TV show ``The OC'' is filming on campus. Wonder if CAA can get Leinart a cameo?

I think Matt needs to be focused on having a spectacular Pro Day as opposed to feeding the press. Ultimately, this is his job interview, and no matter how smooth in front of a microphone, if he doesn't impress the scouts from the Jets, Titans or Raiders enough, it will cost him millions of dollars.

So, who can blame his "handlers" for trying to keep him focused on the real task at hand. BTW - You should know that the head stalker from the OC - Lauren - was a regular attendee of SC football practices, because she knew who the big star is, and it wasn't her.

I think Rick is confusing the reality show Laguna Beach with the OC (Lauren was on Laguna Beach). Today during filming I laid eyes on Adam Brody a.k.a. Seth...what a hottie!!!
BTW Scott, next time give credit to your sources. HAHA

The OC, Laguna Beach, they are all the same drivel. Matt is King of LA, and no television star currently enjoying their 15 minutes of fame will surpass Matt's 2 year run.

Personally, I am looking forward to this next year more than last, mostly because I think there will be a new infusion of young, fresh and enthusiastic faces coming onto the team to replace what had become the "I'm bigger than you" guys. No offense to Reggie, who I think kept his humility through most of the season, but to the other "stars" who behaved as "stars," thanks and see-ya.

Yea, it would be great to be in the national championship game, but maybe we'll be back in a year or two with this new crop. I can't see a Carroll-coached team that has lost 3 games in the course of 4 years by a total of 3 points each time (two of them in overtime) as a team that will not challange for big things. I just want to see the fun back in there. How many times last year did it look like those guys were truly having fun? There was either the burden of expectation hanging over them, or the ho-hummness of "we can do what we want cause we're good." 2005 was no where near as great as Carson's last year, or 2004 when the undefeated season was truly special.

So, let's hear it for the incoming freshman running backs this fall; or Chauncey or Coleman, or Sanchez, or Booty (who I feel bad for), or those young linebackers, and yes -- even the Tings (sorry, Scott) who at least played with their hearts!

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
