End Of The Road

Word around USC is that super-lawyer Carmen Trutanich, who represented Hershel Dennis, Eric Wright and Rey Maualuga, will no longer represent Trojan players.
Trutanich is upset his daughter did not get accepted to USC and holds his sometimes nemesis, vice president of student affairs Michael Jackson, responsible.

Why would Michael Jackson be his nemesis?

From what I heard, they had a disagreement with regards to how to handle the Eric Wright situation.

Hear the same thing as you Frank. Michael Jackson is reputedly a hard ass but everyone who has dealt with him at a time of need knows he is the nicest fellow around. He just protects the university's image like a pitbull. I doubt that he was responsible for the non-admittance. 'SC is killing legacy admissions, courtesy admissions and even cutting back severely on disadvantaged set asides as they seek to move up the rankings. The average admittance score is a 3.9 and 1490 these days and they want to raise both scores- A bit too numbers oriented...

Scott Wolf

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
