Just Friends
Matt Leinart described Paris Hilton as ``a friend’’ in his recent ESPN diary. But our spies tell us the pair spent last weekend at the Balboa Bay Club in Newport Beach. Doubters might want to check with the Auto Club, which was called when Hilton experienced car trouble.
Luckily, the tabloids did not get wind of the rendezvous or the Arizona Cardinals might be upset.
While only the gullible/ignorant actually believe the couple are not an actual couple, maybe this is Pete Carroll’s fault too, since last week Bob Leinart told the Arizona Republic, ``(Carroll) encourages Hollywood people to come to practice . . . Snoop Dogg and Will Ferrell. I don't think he saw the repercussions.’’
Just for fun, I ran that quote past Carroll this week. Let’s just say we both got a good laugh over it.
UPDATE: Did anyone else notice the newspaper report that Leinart partied with Jessica Alba, Robert Downey Jr. and Deborah Harry last weekend?
why can't matt and paris get it on without all the voyerism??? after all, i'm sure there are mamy of us who would love to be in his position which ever one that might be....!!

sources that said the Matt had to dump Paris because the Cardinals told him to! Said he was called out in team meeting by the Vets on the team and mocked him by crying as a group? To me she is trouble waiting to happen , but if this is true, WOW!
There are several, um, "selfish" reasons I wouldn't mind opening up dialogue with Ellen K. Let's just say her sports journalism integrity isn't one of them.
Let's say "your spies" are totally right. Let's say all the rumors of their rendezvous are right, and even that Matt and Paris meet up all the time and get it on like rabbits.
What would that mean anyways? Not necessarily anything.
Ever heard of "friends with benefits?" Maybe they just happen to enjoy the horizontal boogie together. They're both single, so nothing wrong with that.
I think Matt's got a pretty good head on his shoulders and isn't stupid enough to do something that's gonna get him in trouble. Whatever he's doing, I totally support it.

Some dude on ESPN said that the Cardinals hooked Matt up with one of the Suns dancers so he would dump Paris... after all " A Night IN Paris" is more than any one man needs.... lol.
I remember once reading a Bob Leinart quote that was critical of Pete Carroll. Is there some sort of residual dislike between these two?
