Two Winners, One Trophy

| | Comments (3) |

The USC women’s track team tied Stanford for first place in last weekend’s West Regional at Brigham Young. But the always-prepared NCAA provided only one trophy for the event.
So what did the organization do to solve the problem? It flipped a coin. USC won the flip and brought home the trophy while Stanford went home empty-handed.
Maybe the BCS could have taken that scientific approach with the crystal football in 2003 when USC and LSU each claimed a share of the national championship.

About Inside USC

Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in antagonizing the "Internet geeks."
