Wait And See
A USC coach called a highly touted recruit this week and asked when the recruit would commit if offered a scholarship? ``Immediately,'' the recruit replied.
The recruit said he was not offered a scholarship but invited to USC's summmer camp. This is the way it usually works for the Trojans, who could easily get 15-20 commitments this week if they wanted them.
But USC coach Pete Carroll prefers to wait and evaluate. An exception was the quarterback position, when in the wake of Mark Sanchez's arrest, the Trojans quickly took two commitments a couple weeks ago.

Um, so could any other college in the country. In fact, if it weren't for the 25 scholarship limit, every college in the country could get hundreds of commitments by tomorrow. That sentence really didn't add anything to your article.

What Scott is saying is that lots of elite recruits would verbal to SC immediately if they were able to. His overall point is that recruiting is going very well at SC again.
Most of these kids who would say "YES" on the spot to an offer by USC are the California kids"... thankfully these are very talented kids.. but SC is willing to make them wait a little... as a test to them... if they show up to their camps and perform to the levels expected... these young men can and will recieve offers... kids like DJ Holt... Malachi Lewis, Jorsan Campbell... all great players... all SC would be very lucky to have on their team!
I hope Coach Carroll doen't make these kids wait too long!!!!!
