Former USC defensive end Frostee Rucker hired Leonard Levine to represent him against two misdemeanor counts of spousal battery and two counts of vandalism.
Levine represented USC quarterback Mark Sanchez in his recent sexual-assault case. The alleged victim is a former USC student and accuses Rucker of getting into an altercation with her at a party last August and smashing her cellphone. From my own knowledge, this could be an interesting case.
The alleged victim left school after the incident.
``He adamantly denies the charges,’’ Levine said. ``We’re conducting our own investigation and I’m hoping to present evidence to dismiss the case. We’ll be asking for the charges to be dismissed.’’
Rucker is scheduled to be arraigned July 13. If convicted of the misdemeanor charges, the total penalty is three years in prison. Rucker was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals in the third round of April’s draft.

How did you manage to miss this scoop on Frostee for the last year?
Uh, its not 3 years in prison, but a total of 3 consecutive 1 year terms in county jail. They're all misdemeanors. Even if convicted it would be highly unlikely that consecutive terms would be imposed. With over crowding in the county jail he might serve 90 days.
Lenny will most likely try to either get it dismissed or a City attorney office hearing if that has not already been done (mindful thats its been 10 months since the alleged events).
Scott, if one is convicted of misdemeanors the most serious punishment would be county jail not prison. There is a big difference. You would only go to prison if you were convicted of a felony. Your legal source. Caio
