More Tyler Buzz

Some readers asked to elaborate on the earlier Tyler post. Without getting too personal, there was a comment made during a conversation with Charlie Weis that turned Tyler off during the spring and helped make it unlikely he would attend Notre Dame.
The fact USC is closer-to-home is probably the No. 1 reason Tyler chose the Trojans, but it played a part in the overall decision.

People have said it had to do with his living situation with the Clausen family. That whole thing seems sort of odd and uncomfortable. Even he said when he announced that Clausen was mad for a short period. Can't imagine that any coach would speak of it.

John - Are you sure about the last part of your post? In the Scout video of Tyler's announcement he said that JC knew that MT had to do what was best for himself. Did I miss something?

John said:

Check the interview on USC Rivals or USC Scout. That "he was a little mad at first" comment came from MT's own mouth. I'm sure everyone was political about it in public but that one painfully candid reference said a LOT. Can you imagine what it was REALLY like behind closed doors with parents and all, especially after the whole H of F limo thing at ND for Clausen... Draw your own conclusions.

Scott,

That was the most ridiculous lie that I have ever seen printed. Did you know that the only reason Tyler chose USC was because he didn't want to be too far from home and that he got homesick on his trip to ND for the B&G game?? His mother wanted him to stay home, but his dad thought that ND was the best place for him!!

You are the most biased so called USC football and recruiting analyst that, there is and it is disgraceful to post lies about a class individual like Charlie Weis. In case you don't remember, after USC beat ND, last fall, Coach Weis went out of his way to congratulate the USC team and coaches, on the ri victory and he wished them well and told them to win the National Title. Do you remember that Scott?? Did any other coach that lost a game to USC do that?? Obviously the answer to both questions, for you, would be NO! I think you need to work a little harder in being a classy person because you have proven to be far from that. I am a huge USC fan and alum and I find your lie to be repulsive. You know as well, as everyone else does, that what you said, did NOT HAPPEN!
Marc Tyler, even thanked Coach Weis for all his help and the effort that he gave while he was recruiting Marc. It is pretty embarassing when a 17 yr old kid, has more class than a supposed adult, like you. USC is a great program and always will be that way, but for us to stay a class program, we cannot have people like you dirtying our name. Grow up or stop trying to represent Southern Cal because we don't need people like you, with agendas, reperesenting the university. ND and USC has always been a great rivalry and will stay that way. As a USC alum, I have always enjoyed this rivalry more than the UCLA one because there has always been a mutual respect between the two great universities. USC and ND fans do not want to spoil that, yet you try to make it a more hateful type of competition and that is wrong. All I know is that i will continue to write the USc admiistration and Athletic Dept., about your attitude and I hope they don't help you out with anything, until you stop your annoying banter.

That is it and if you were a real USC fan, you would understand that you are wrong to lie because it lowers the integrity of this great rivalry and shows that you have little, if any integrity, at all.

Although Scott may be a little snug in his writing, he is usually right, and pulls the trigger too fast at times....and obviously, you would not be here if you didn't want to know something a little more detailed.

I agree with ALofSC. Scott is giving us SC fans a look into off-season happenings without having to pay $10 a month read about it on ESPN insider. Good job Wolfie.

Robert Walsh Jr, you definately don't sound like a USC fan saying that Charlie Weis is a class act. Why? because he congratulated us after a game. He probably went to his lock34 room and vommitted after that act. He's so class act that he didn't cut the grass and intentionally left is inches high putting all players (even his) at risk of serious injury, and guess what dennis reed did tear his knee up because of his high grass. Unless you are marc tyler or someone in his circle than you dont know... because its unlikely that he would say anything bad about Weis knowing that his roommate is going to ND. Dont get mad at wolffe for reporting... KEEP DOING YOUR JOB WOLFFE. they attack our coach with just as much if not more venom than that

CLASS ACT, RIGHT!! unless you're some one with marc tyler's close circle than you wouldn't know if Weis said something distateful or not. Scott is not saying anything worse about weis than the ND fans are doing to Pete but with more venom... weis a class act, since when???
