Rose Bowl Reminder
Linebacker Brian Cushing said he's still bothered by the Rose Bowl, seven months later.
``It bugs the hell out of me to think about that game,'' Cushing said. ``How I felt, with my shoulder (ailing). How the game went. It brings a lot of fire to me.''

I am glad our boys still have that angst/fire in them seven months later. Now, lets use it to win another NC.
Let that fire out Cush
Annihilate the hogs
Great...great...fight ON
I remember Cushing having a lot of shots at laying the wood to Vince Young... but due to his shoulder being banged up and couldn't tackle him... he's bigger... badder... and ready to play!
I dont know about you all, but it still bothers me and it always will. For the rest of our lives, whenever we see that ubiquitous Longhorn logo, we'll think of that day. Is that pathetic of us?
I hope USC beats the living snot out of Arkansas. I hope USC takes all of the angst they feel about the Rose Bowl out on the Hogs. I hope the Trojans turn those mayonnaise-sandwich-eating dirtbags back into the primordial goo spooged from their father-uncles.
Fight on, Trojans.
Disclosure: I am a Texas alumnus, but I root for the Trojans in the PAC-10 because they are not UCLA.
Has C ushing gotten bigger and stronger over the off-season? I think what USC was missing last season was a defensive player who would "lay the wood" on anyone, like Troy, Lofa, Grootegoed, or some of the past linebackers who wore number 55.
Maybe THIS is why Brian was out getting SO drunk at the 901 Club that fateful night with his roomie, Mark Sanchez, back in March (with apparently his own fake ID)and then he came back to their apartment and passed out while Mark and a USC freshman coed "made out" in Sanchez's bedroom.
Add to this the dropped assault and battery charges against Cushing the Spring before while at a Newport Beach party with Sanchez and you wonder if perhaps BOTH these guys should stay away from UNDERAGE DRINKING, PARTIES and JUST FOCUS ON FOOTBALL.... and remaining academically eligible!
We love Cush (which in Humboldt means "head of stone") he will have a new national nickname this year: CRUSHING
I am so glad he's pissed. He should be angry. You guys should have won that game against Texas -- But take it out on the field, not at a bar.
You'll get arrested, embarrass the school and your family name. So be mellow. Chill, smile at the ladies and wave.
Once that helmet goes on, your'e an animal. You will punish every team you play this year. Then once off the field, hug your momma.
And if you ever, ever get to play those Vinnie-is-gone 'Horns again, you will not only destroy them, but CRUSH them...
Cush the Crusher
There you go, Brian Cushing! We should've won that game, but there were too many injuries and distractions leading up to Jan.4. Now channel that anger into the weight room/training table/film sessions and come out ON FIRE! You know that none of the "experts" are picking SC. That's what those East-Coasters do, underestimate and attempt to undermine Sunny Southern California! We are better than Nebraska '94-95, better than Florida St. '93 or '99.
I think football is the most emotional game because: 1) there aren't that many games a season, and only one per week.
2) you are literally putting your body on the line, and 100% pain, effort and desire don't guarantee you victory.
3) it's legalized warfare, with what you do ON the field immune to criminal prosecution (unless you shoot someone like in "The Last Boy Scout")
So, Brian, keep on Fighting On, 'cuz I know you and your teammates are too talented and bloodthirsty to begin to question yourselves. You've got what it takes, more so than other teams. Remember that, and we love y'all with or without National Championships, as long as you keep laying the backhanded pimp slap down on your little sisters called UCLA, as well as Whoregon, the Crying Irish and Berkeley.
I've never seen so many excuses in my life. Why wasn't anyone talking about injuries in the 2 weeks leading up to the Rose Bowl when all the talk was how Texas didn't belong on the same field. By the way, Cushing couldn't lay a hand on Vince Young and it had nothing to do with his shoulder. Vince was bigger, faster and stronger than anyone on your defense.
