Trojans For Life, Part II

Nebraska coach Bill Callahan’s now had more than one conversation with a recently departed USC assistant coach about the Sept. 16 game with the Trojans. ``He knows it would be a helluva win for them,’’ the coach said.

Come on Scott. Enough of this anonymous bullcrap. Who's the coach? Franklin?

alpe said:

unless Callahan can make his players better through conversation alone i dont think this makes a bit of difference....

Rick said:

It has to be Tim Davis. There is a Wisconsin connection there.

This is nothing new. Coaches talk all the time.

If Callahan didn't think beating USC in the Coliseum would be big, then he would deserve to get fired on the spot.

IN PETE WE TRUST!!!

Monroe said:

Ok, you're not going to tell us which coach is talking to Callahan, but what I'd like to know is: Does Pete Carroll know about this? If so, does he have an idea who it is? And is he concerned?

Until we know who the alleged coach is, we can't begin to imagine what potential damage he could do.
I hope the guy becomes an outcast to all of Pete's NFL friends.

I think it's safe to assume that Pete and staff can and will speak with coaches familiar with Nebraska's schemes.

Matt said:

I'm sure Callahan couldn't have divined much from game film, eh?

Who gives a shit, USC is on Natl TV most every weekend. Everyone gets to see how they play(d) anyway. It's like are there really any secrets? or secrets that the likes of Callahan could actually use against SC? I've got one for him...."watch out Coach Callahan, It's a secret, Shhhhhhh I heard from an ex coach that the Trojans are going to try to get a turnover every time your bunch of Cornholers touch the ball"! Big secret Bill, so keep it to yourself!

Duh

I think Pete will have a few conversations with Monte Kiffin and Jon Gruden on how to best spank Bill Callahan. Nebraska's biggest problem will be speed, speed at every position like they've never seen, or seen once if they played against Texas

Martin said:

I really would love to know who it is that's doing all that talking... Scott should just drop a dime on who ever this is... so that their coaching careers can be over... because a guy like this should not be a coach because they do not know the meaning of the word LOYALTY...

I really hope that SC destroys the Huskers and Callahan gets canned!!! Not that the stuff he's getting is going to help... Tampa Bay ran the same offense as the Raiders and he had no clue on how to stop it... so you can expect SC to add some wrinkles and change the terms they use to call the plays and problem will be solved.

THE CALLAHAN "SPY RING" MEANS NADA CAUSE THE USC TEAM IS DIFFERENT WITH NEW PLAYERS... THE SPEED OF TROY WILL MAKE THE HUSKERS FORGET ABOUT THE INTEL AND FOCUS ON KEEPING DOWN THE HIGH USC SCORE.....

TW said:

Scott will never drop the dime on anyone...his whole reporting style is based on the famous anonymous source.

jack said:

My guess is that it is Tim Davis. They were both offensive line coaches under Barry Alvarez at Wisconsin albeit at different times.

MT said:

I don't know PC, but I would guess that he probably just shrugs it off. It's not like there are any trade secrets, what with everything being so open with the program (e.g., practice). Plus, I think PC would welcome the challenge.

Fight On!

screw jethro franklin, he sucked anyways

Like Bill or Pete needs a worm.. Thousands of hours of game film on these teams to study, what could be so important that the needs of a spy would warrent?

I wish this game were over!

Darren said:

Why is this news? Coaches talk all the time, just like people in nearly every profession. And, if it is an EX assistant, why would your staff care anyway? OR, what could they really do about it?

And, by the way, it is all there on film. What's the big deal again?

Coaches don't make plays. They call them. Players make plays. And I hope NU has enough players to surpirse the heck out of you cocky SOB's this fall. "speed at every position like they've never seen." Oh...okay. Sure.
