Camp Question

| | Comments (1) |

One of the questions facing Pete Carroll in training camp is where to play freshman recruit Derek Simmons. Even though Simmons weighs 285 pounds, he can play defensive end and defensive tackle.
Simmons will certainly get a look at tackle, because that is one of the positions that concerns Carroll most entering the season. Whether Simmons would do more than merely add depth, and can make an impact, remains to be seen.

The guy passes the eye ball test, and his intensity is awesome- he is all football all the time, reminds me of Groots' attitude. If Simmons can do a better job than Barett and Ashley, who are two very talented players, we should reconsider Jethro's ability to coach and spot talent. Jethro may have been in a lose-lose situation trying to follow Orgeron, those weren't his guys and he wasn't Ed.
