Don't Hold The Mayo
So ESPN reported that O.J. Mayo told people during his campus visit he wanted to attend USC. That's not exactly news if you've read this blog or other recruiting websites today.
Mayo is supposed to commit to USC this week at the ABCD camp. Everyone is just waiting for him to make it official. I hear Mayo's grade-point average is above 3.0, so eligibility probably will not be an issue.
If the NBA didnt change the eligibilty rules, this kid (like many others) wouldnt even be talking college. The instant he is eligible to leave for the NBA, this kid is gone.

USC_89, who cares?!?! this guy, even if he plays for one year, will put SC on the map in basketball. He is the biggest thing since lebron and going to give insane amounts of attention to the program. Not to mention, his teammate Bill Walker is likely to follow him here. Gonna be exciting in the Galen Center in 07-08!

Delusional??? I think most USC fans understand what they are getting with Mayo. Sure, Mayo is using the University to improve his exposure. Does that cause harm to anyone?
If Mayo does really play at USC for even one year, it would definitely still bring benefits to the University. So what is your problem with him?
