Glasser To ASU

| | Comments (2) |

Point guard Derek Glasser, who committed to USC in April, accepted a scholarship to Arizona State on Friday. He will be reunited with former Artesia High coach Scott Pera, who accepted a job with the Sun Devils this spring.
That further depletes the Trojans at point guard, following the death of Ryan Francis and Gabe Pruitt's ineligibility the first nine games.
UPDATE: Glasser is getting a scholarship because guard Kevin Kruger transferred to UNLV.

I always wonder in situations (and this isn't necessarily one) when schools hire assistant coaches to get kids and hopefully a pipeline to new recruits, how long do these coaches stay?

On a sort of related topic, I wonder what Coach Floyd is doing to get some of the talent on the West Coast. What sort of schools, camps, AAU teams, JC's etc. has he reached out to? Is he getting good support from alum? And have the Westphal folk got themselves behind him? (He seems to be getting support from PC at least.)
