Mid-October Surprise

The latest guess-timate is that the Galen Center's first sports event will be Oct. 12 when the women's volleyball team plays Stanford.

Women's volleyball? What a grand way to open the most important new building to come to campus in decades. Was the Debating team busy? Maybe the club dodgeball squad was at the All Star break?

Don't just slap womens volleyball in the face without at least realizing that the Women of Troy have indeed won numerous national championships in this sport. I at least give them their respectful props.

How do they get all the sand into the Galen Center? Won't that make the hard wood floors slippery if not removed properly?
