Night Records

With five home night games already scheduled, quite a few records will be established this season. The five night games is already a school record, breaking the previous mark of four in 1971.
The Trojans' first home night game was in 1944.
Here's some other firsts:

USC has never played a night game against Cal (i.e., a game starting after 5 pm, local time). That streak comes to an end this year, on November 18th.
USC has never played a home night game against Arizona State. That streak comes to an end October 14th.
USC first hosted Arizona in 1917. Despite the fact that Arizona played a night game in Los Angeles against St. Vincent's in 1905, SC's first home night game against the Wildcats did not take place until 2004.
USC will also play its second home night game against Nebraska this year. There has never been a home day game against the Cornhuskers.

Night games don't do much for East coast viewership when the game starts at 10:30PM.

not sure about the asu night game

i clearly remember chris clayborne doing the ragdoll routine on the asu qb

after that play, the qb was done for the night

Arizona State QB Ryan Kealy, who suffered a concussion from a hit by SC's Chris Claiborne-

"I blacked out initially but I don't think I was out. I was coming in and out with a little blurry vision. It was a good solid hit and it loosened my head."

College football, especially Trojans, belong on a beautiful fall afternoon. Money in every direction is changing this national pastime, and not for the better.
