Blind Item Of The Day

| | Comments (22) |

A major local newspaper is calling law enforcement officials about an incident involving a current player that happened about 18 months ago and was previously reported last year by the Daily News and eventually other publications.
``There's nothing new,'' a law enforcement official said.

Gee neat Scott. That makes no sense on a number of different levels.

If it was previously reported, then say who it is again.

if it was previously reported and it's not a big deal then why don't you just say what it is dude? wassup wit u man?

Sounds like the LA Times may be fishing for a good story. Anytime there's interest, there's cause for concern.

I'm trying to think of who the current player is.

IN PETE WE TRUST!!!

Scott? No more cocktails before 3pm OK? Seriously leave them to me. If it ain't a story don't report it.

Rick said:

Can you please stick to reporting about the play of the football team and recruiting? It is your best work.

18 mos. ago Eric Wright was arrested for suspicion of sexual assault, but he is not a current player. Was someone else involved?

So why the LAT digging things up? Let's see, start of a school year, sexual politics, Doc Blaine has not been in the news lately, hmmm ... wonder what Doc Blaine is up to.

Thanks for the 'quality' input Scott. This is even worse than your piece on two football players inadvertantly detained by police.

Im happy to see that reader posts have diminished tremendously compared to about 6 weeks ago. Could this be that the readers previously were bottom feeding until the pre-season began and real news items concerning the team are covered elsewhere?

Could this story perhaps be the one in question?

Scott,

Thanks for the enlightening news. Can you try and be even more cryptic next time? Jeesh, this in a major-market sports blog? Keep janking the chains and making more friends.

A major local fanbase is calling law enforcement officials about incidents involving a current newspaper reporter that happen everyday. He was hired as a beat writer but only serves to bring the program down.

Rick, 2003 said:

So does this mean that LA Times is so desparate to find USC at fault of something to support their "class warfare spin"?

:-)

Keep us posted Scott when their big story breaks.

Fight On!

Dont worry Scott. I appreciate the work that you do! If folks cant understand the reasons why you report in a particular way then they can lose the sleep over it,,not me.

Haha scott... nobody likes you.

Mike said:

Somebody stop Bill Dwyre from reading old newspapers and calling the cops with 'tips'. Apparently he didn't have time to keep up with the sports news when he was sports editor. Hey, Bill, the Angels won a World Series!

Tim said:

Scott...

If it was reported last year by the Daily News...can you please post a link to that article so we can at least read it? Thanks.

GoTrojans said:

More interesting would be to know if the player in question signed autographs at Salute to Troy that year. . . .

gillyking said:

Actually I heard that the incident in question was really usc_89 and miguelito getting caught in the backseat of miguelito's Yugo, (you know, the one with the ucla bumper and parking stickers on it) in a dark alley just south of campus @ 3:00am doing their very special and personal version of "1on1"s.

I imagine this might have something to do with "Beef"?

This has to be either Cushing and Sanchez doing thier thing at OC or Hershel Dennis maybe?
