Football School?
The season-opener is almost here, but Wednesday night two USC students approached a football player at Heritage Hall (of all places) and asked the following question: ``Have you guys started practicing yet?''

About Inside USC
Scott Wolf has covered USC for the Daily News since 1996. A USC
graduate, he covered his first Trojan game in 1984 for
the Daily Trojan. Scott is known as the "scourge of the Internet
message boards," according to radio host Petros Papadakis. Despite this
moniker, there's no truth to the rumor he takes pleasure in
antagonizing the "Internet geeks."

Damn nerds - now people might mistake USC for an ACADEMIC institution instead of a pro-sports training camp.
Get rid of all the students, I say!
students??? come on.... those are football fans!!!
time to kick ass in arkansa....
I heard that it was actually miguelito aka usc_89. The player told him to go "get 8 clapped".
It's not really an unrealistic questions because in the past they didn't practice well before the season like they do now. Even when there is no class or football they stay on campus these days.
Practice? Who needs Practice? Our guys dont need no practice. Our guys show up and other teams bow down. Just the mention of USC and top recruits ask "Where do I sign"?
That blog was very funny Scott. Keep up the good work. I love your writing.
Agreed. I mean what was US News & World Report thinking when they recently ranked USC number 27th out of all US colleges and universities. Even funnier, UCLA is only one slot above at 26th. What's the world coming to?
Could've been one of those foreign exchange students from India, Taiwan or England. If so, welcome to the USA and USC. You are in for a culture shock Sep. 16, the day of our home opener. Football's a real sport, unlike soccer, where it's cool to whine and writhe on the ground in pain, and get up when no ref's called anything. That'd never fly here in the States. You suck it up, or get off the field.
More than likely International students unfamiliar with American-style football...
Hey, I was just curious. What? A guy can't be oblivious on this campus anymore?
Well said TE we are still the instution with a good football team and a good band!
Like your work, but come on, gise us updates, not meaningless gossip. Give us stuff on the "SUPERBABY".
Awesome scoop Wolfie. Keep up the top-notch journalism. Make sure you let us know if anything less important happens.
Nerds or dumba$$es.
IN PETE WE TRUST!!!
Another dig at SC Wolf, fine job. I am sure you could go to any SEC, BIG 10, or other school and find students that cared less about the football program or did not pay that much attention to it. I don't even know why you're posting this on here? Oh, wait, I do, it's to take another shot at SC!
Hah! UCLA is exposed and they are falling in academic rankings like a bag of bricks yet they still talk as if they went to a an actual college. SC is getting that elusive football dividend, exposure=more applications. In the next few years we'll do the top 25 dance in every major sport and academic rankings. UCLA will even be our basketball beyatches.
Well said, Lewis, well said!

thats the wrong stupid mentality to be thinking. yeah, of course they're good but just because they're good doesn't mean they need to practice. when teams are on top of the mountain they tend to slack off n become cocky and think "I don't need practice." well worst comes to worst a team surprises them and they lose. maybe your're just boasting but i don't know.... the superbaby. who gave that baby the nickname. was it Petros?

You should look into getting a sense of humor. They are pretty inexpensive and loads of fun.

Come on bro.. .Cant you read in between the lines when I say "Who needs Practice?" That its a spoof on what the Student asked.... come on now. :)
For some of the other posters who feel Scott should not have this type of info on his blog. Lighten up.
Did it ever occur to anybody that perhaps those two students were picking up on that football player, who apparently was not conscious of that poor pick-up line? Either that, or it was a pair of UCLA students lost on the SC campus.
All of you assume that the students meant fall camp. Is it possible that they were referencing that day's practice?
Glad to see you get exclusives Scott...
