Hip Check, Part II
Michael Coleman is scheduled to return to practice today. Besides dealing with a death in the family, Coleman’s also frustrated over the slow recovery of his hip. One explanation is that he returned too soon from his injury (or that he was brought back too fast) and required a second operation.
In a previous post (April 17, 2006), I detailed the problems USC’s faced with athletes and hip injuries when the surgery was performed in Southern California.

You're amazingly consistent, Scott. Firing daggers at the program whenever and wherever you can. At least this time you did it parenthetically and didn't even bother to try to hide it as news.
Why don't you just cut to the chase and entitle the blog: Coleman's Hip Can't Heal Thanks To Pete
Pete Carroll must hate dealing with you on daily basis...
Tom et. al. demand that Scott only give us good news and never, ever even allude to a coaching error. They like their rose colored glasses and only want to read reports that tell us how Pete walks on water. Good news only and not even the vague possibility of criticism.
Grow up. Keep reporting Scott; good, bad, opinion and fact. I'm a big boy and can tell the difference.
What the hell is wrong with you people? If you read the April 17 post, you will see that Scott reported the same thing happened to UCLA b-ball player Josh Shipp.
This post is actaully important info for any SoCal athelete.
I like to make fun of the bitterness and vitriol possessed by UCLA fans, but some Trojan fans, man, are hyper, hyper senistive. This fan base seems to have very little sense of humor, which I don't understand, because our program, over the years, wins much more than it loses. Man, what if EDSBS or the M-Zone blogs were written by Trojan fans? They couldn't be, because outside of Will Farrell, too many Trojan fans seem to lack any sense of humor.
All I can say is lay off the Kool-Aid, please.
JohnSC1974: You don't get it.
Re-read the blog entry.
"One explanation is that he returned too soon from his injury (or that he was brought back too fast) and required a second operation."
Why bother saying "one explanation" and then inserting a second one parenthetically in the same sentence?? Why not just say, "Another explanation could be that the coaching staff brought Coleman back too early". No, that would take too much chutzpah to say it that blatantly...wouldn't it? Surprised that a big boy like you (your words) wouldn't pick up on that.
I mean, you sound like a really smart guy (or probably not) and I get what you're trying to say(poorly at that), but you have to agree that Wolf's tone is what drive people crazy, not the fact that there's good and bad mixed in together.
Grow up. That's hilarious. If you're a big boy then you should be able to tell the difference between reporting news and trying to start controversy. You don't report news with parenthetical personal opinions. You report it. You want to throw conjecture in then you quote somebody or a medical opinion or a past athletic incident that had the same effect. You don't throw your personal thoughts and (hide them) by pretending you're reporting news.
Califan,
I, and the rest of this board, don't like you very much but I would have to agree with your post this time. However, you forgot to mention the other part...
His wife, kids, friends, and colleagues also must hate dealing with him on a daily basis.
Goodnight my friends.
