As expected, Pete Carroll said C.J. Gable will start at tailback for the Trojans. It also sounds like Arkansas tailback Darren McFadden will be available despite his toe injury.

tailback? do you mean PR?

PR?? C.J. has been the leader at the TB spot since Chauncey has been out. Chauncey will play though. Won't be surprised if he still gets the bulk of the carries by game's end.

I'd imagine that PC uses CJ first but will give Bradford and Moody ample opportunities as well and the one who produces the most or makes the least amount of mistakes gets the most snaps under his belt

Make their necks twist watching our speed dudes blow by, CJ and the half-Korean Emmanuel. Then bruise 'em up with the big dudes, Allen Bradford and Chauncey.

Word around camp is Emmanuel Moody has some Reggie Bush in him and Allen Bradford could be the next Lendale White. Of course, we can't imagine anybody being as good as Reggie was, nor even close to big Lendale. Wouldn't that be the bomb, if these two turn out to be the second coming of Thunder & Lightning? At any rate, I don't mind if coach Pete ends up using a Tailback by committee rotation. I really think those diverse styles and fresh legs will pay off at the end of the season.

Over/under for Trojan turnovers with new QB, TB & FB? 2 or 3?

I'll be optimistic and say 2. Remember, Pete makes them practice ball security a lot. But there are way too may fresh/sophs starting. Could get ugly. If Arkansas gets a short field to work on because of turnovers, it's c-ya later. My concern is the offense jelling in such a hostile environemnt on their first game together. Whatever happened to scheduling Middle Tennessee State at home for openers? Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot -- that's UCLA's thing. (Utah and Rice -- come on, gimme a break. So what that you scheduled ND -- we have for 70 years!).
My heart says SC wins; my brain says we're too young to handle it and we'll struggle. It'll be something like 24-13, one way or the other...
