It's Official

Every USC game will be broadcast on 710-AM this season. When there is a conflict with Angels games, the baseball team moves to 830-AM, which was purchased earlier this year by Angels owner Arte Moreno.

I'm in total agreement with the PAC10 coaches. This is shows very bad and poor judgement by NCAA officials. If anything there was no basis for making such a rule change to the game.

My best guess is that the NCAA wanted to skim off some time, to balance out the length of televised games given the new "coaches challenge" implementation. They might have figured that on average this will review and challenges will add 15 minutes, so they had to look at where in the game time was being "wasted". Anyway you cut it another very dum move by NCAA - pencilnecks. Belotti should have sent a petition to the FBI to classify the NCAA as a terroist group instead.

At minimum a wider audience will be able to hear the games. I got better reception of 1540 in San Diego than I did in Orange County. Go figure.

Any word yet on the James Wilson announcement that was taking place at 3pm EST. I hear it was down to USC and Notre Dame. Does the lack of blogging about him mean that the Trojans are not looking good?

The only problem with 710 -- is they are not fully dedicated to USC the way 1540 was. Make no mistake about it, I thought dumping 1540 was overdue. I just wish 710 would run all the special programs, Trojan-oriented programs that 1540 did. And where is the Voice of Troy in all this? Arbo, wherefor art thou? Meanwhile, it looks like the P-Daddy has been left to languish in Domerland. (1540 will be broadcasting N.D. games -- in a shrewd get-back at USC) Has Monte Furuya finally taken his revenge on the little knucklehead who never finished his math homework??? Blaaaahhhh! As I'm sure Petros would say.

Fight On !!

i agree. 710 isn't dedicated to USC the way 1540 was. there was more excitement to 1540 than 710 has. also i was listening to 710 last week, The Big Show with Mason & Ireland, and out of that show i was expecting them to really get down on USC but the only thing i heard was how they cant wait till USC football starts. it was lame. it just sounded like they weren't that much into it like they felt obligated to say that. anyways i still listen to 1540 because they know more than them. also Pete Pete Arbogast will still continue to be the voice of the Trojans , Paul McDonald and John Jackson as well as men's basketball announcers Rory Markas and Jim Hefner. all of them went to 710.

How do you know what special programming 710 is going to run? Football season is over a month away still. Give them a chance. I'm guessing there will be plenty.

Are you serious? Every 10 minutes ESPN 710 is blasting the daily countdown to the Arkansas Game. The only thing bad about that from my wife's standpoint is that reminds her how many days are left until school starts and the daily homework grind with the kids begins. But as I tell them...you better get used to it if you want to go to SC!

Troy 71 and Jonathan - yes, how do you know what ESPN 710 has planned for USC? You don't have a clue, so why berate them before they even start? And if you've been listening to ESPN 710, they've already started their countdown to kick-off.
Let's just say this, if ESPN 710 didn't have ANY 'special USC programs', the Trojans and the Trojan alum are still THRILLED they will be able to finally HEAR the game (after 5 years of being frustrated with a lousy signal!)With that other station they were on, people in Santa Monica couldn't hear the game at night! At least with ESPN 710 you can hear a CLEAR station as far away as San Diego! C'mon, get over it!
