One rumor making the rounds since last week's season-ending injury to Brandon Hancock is that linebacker Thomas Williams might move to fullback. But offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin said it is not under consideration.

Scott, has there ever been any discussion of using Taylor Mays at FB or Big TB? He has the speed, size, and muscle to do a lot of damage maybe in short yardage situations.

Mays is 6 4 which is way too tall for a fullback and at 235 not big enough. Mays is not an overly physical player either.
Secondly, Mays has a chance to be a special safety. I am speaking of premier safety in the nation, first round pick, sean taylor without the police blotter kind of safety.
The guy is 6 4 237 pounds and runs a 10.5 hundred. He was the state champion of the state of washington. You want to take that kind of talent and put him at fullback?
I would have to assume that your fantasy teams suck.

Free Kobe 1st of all 6'4" isn't too tall for Fullback. 2nd of all Mays has the frame on him that he will easily grow to 240-245 lbs as many people project. At that size hes not going to play safety at the next level (maybe at linebacker before he's finish at USC). 3rd of all although Mays is a big hitter I have heard that has not really impressed on deep middle field coverage. Green our converted QB is actually getting more raves at that aspect of the game. 4th of all I said Full Back or Big Tailback. 5th of all I only raise the question if that move had been considered.
No need to trash a person on this board Mr Kobe. Im not sure you know as much as you are taking credit for.

As for a Fullback. If Ryan Powdrell is the starter at Fullback he is a senior. For next year or later this year USC should try out Stanley Havili. Make him gain 20 more pounds. Hes allready at 6'1 220. Another guy is Kaluka Maiva 5'11 220lbs.
